Relax in paradise in your luxury suite on the 29th floor of the Hawaiian Monarch Hotel in fabulous Waikiki Beach! This apartment is designed for the discriminating traveler who wants to stay in a clean, spacious, and modern studio with a full kitchen and new King size Bed. Parking is $40-45/day.
The Hawaiian Monarch Hotel is a few blocks from Waikiki Beach. There is a pool, Jacuzzi, coin laundry, car rental, great restaurants, sports bar on the premises. This is a privately owned and managed condominium and please be assured that all your needs will be met conscientiously and professionally. We want to make your stay a happy one!

Located at the "gateway" to Waikiki, the Hawaiian Monarch overlooks the beautiful Ala Wai Canal. Enjoy the roof top recreation deck with its swimming pool and panoramic views of Waikiki. Surrounded by outstanding dining and shopping establishments and the exciting entertainment and night life of Waikiki, you'll find that the Hawaiian Monarch is in a very convenient location.
Stroll to the Hawaii Convention Center and the huge Ala Moana Shopping Center. The Hawaiian Monarch is within easy walking distance to Waikiki Beach and Ala Moana Beach Park. Jump on a bus to Ala Moana Shopping Center, Aloha Tower Marketplace, and Chinatown. Visit the Army Museum at Fort DeRussy, then walk the beach walkway to the Hilton Hawaiian Village and its Rainbow Bazaar.

waikiki and honolulu base for vacations

excellent conmunications with owner, complete with enough coffee, toilet paper, towels etc. for the stay. relatively close to waikiki main streets without having to pay and find extra parking.

Convenient location

This condo was easy to get to from the airport with ride share, located conveniently in Honolulu for those who are willing to walk about .5-1 mile to go out, and check-in and check-out instructions were easy and clear. This condo is 0.6 miles from a slightly less crowded beach than Waikiki Beach. There are many shopping and food options within 1 mile toward the Waikiki Beach area. We easily walked between the condo and shops/restaurants/the beach multiple times each day, and frequently took ride shares for less than 5-8 (tip) when needed.We rented a car from Enterprise, from a short walk away, for our first full day to drive around the east side of the island to the North Shore. I highly recommend renting a car for one day to drive around the island if you stay in Honolulu. Parking at the condo was easy- 45 for 24 hours (other rates for other time lengths). It was also easy to take the public transportation from the condo to Pearl Harbor.The bed was as clean as a hotel's and comfortable, but the other furniture had fabric stains. A/C worked well. We did not go to the condo's affiliated pool or use the laundry. Beach chairs, beach towels, snorkel and goggle equipment provided in the closet. The host was friendly and prompt in the few communications required.

lovely stay with basics provided

Accommodation matched the images and the owner was very responsive to all communications. Location is fine, just a little too far from both the Ala Moana center or the Waikiki strip, but we just used the buses. Was great having beach towels, beach umbrella and seats available to use. Would be great to have a few more kitchen items just to make the stay easier. The bed was very comfy, the room was hot but the air con worked well. Thanks for the stay!

Little condo that works perfect.

This sweet condo was a great home base for us. The kitchen made having breakfast in the condo easy. Location is close to the beach and shopping areas. Walking distance to Convention Center (we didn't go there for anything, just noticed). Place is clean and well appointed with beach towels, sunscreeen, bogie board, snorkle equipment and a vaccum to clean up the sand that will follow you home.

Excellent Stay in Waikiki

Although not downtown Waikiki, it was very close to the beach and the walks we made downtown were amazing. We were near great restaurants and the place itself was friendly and had extra services right in the lobby Larry checked in with us when we got in our first night. The instructions he gave us were very clear and we had no trouble getting in on our own. The room was small but enough for the two of us. There were towels, kitchen supplies, beach towels, beach chairs, and scuba gear. All we could need. Even a broom to sweep up the gritty sand on the floor. We were very appreciative of our stay here.

Oahu anniversary trip

Had a good time at the monarch niu. Check in effortless, condo had what my wife and I needed for the 5 nights on island. Great location and room was clean and view of the city both day and night is beautiful. Big Mahalos to Larry for everything.... So overall, I rated 4 stars. It would’ve been 5 had one of the parking attendants on our first day wasn’t so rude. Upset at me cause I didn’t have my cash ready with no one behind us. Cussing under his breath and clinching his teeth.... I’m not sure if he was having a bad day or what? I just didn’t quite understand what exactly my wife and I did wrong to him??????He was heavier set with prescription glasses and was darker skinned Indian looking fellow. EVERY other parking attendant we encountered was very friendly and polite, they jus need to get rid of “Oscar the grouch “Besides that we enjoyed our anniversary trip.

Honolulu getaway

We were taking a cruise around the islands and came a week early to see some of Oahu before we departed. We found this condo in Waikiki. It was perfect for us. Great location within walking distance to the beach. Very close to restaurants and shopping as well. The condo was very clean and had everything we needed. We enjoyed he pool and hot tub also. There is a pub, convenience store, bakery and a take out restaurant in the building too. A perfect getaway location for a couple traveling to Waikiki!

Very clean, comfortable, and great location.

My trip was wonderful. Check in/out was very easy. No negatives about the condo it’s self. The elivators At the property are a bit finicky and dated but not bad at all. Maintenance did however enter the condo while I was out and caught me by surprise a bit when I entered with a slip on the kitchen table letting me know. Not a big deal at all I just would have preferred a bit of a warming. Overall a great experience and a very fair price.

HAWAIIAN MONARCH HOTEL 29th Floor

Owner Larry Wennick deserves 5 stars for his outstanding customer service! He was always available to answer any questions, was very helpful, considerate and accommodating. His condo on the 29th floor (2908-A) is EXACTLY as pictured, and has a wonderful view of the town and mauka (toward the mountains). Condo was clean, had beach towels, beach chairs, cleaning supplies, basic kitchen necessities and supplies, and the bathroom had a blow dryer. I LOVED the instant hot water shower. My only negative comments are the fact that it costs $25 a day to park a car in the privately owned parking next to the hotel/condominium. Also, the hallways and elevators are not air conditioned, which can be uncomfortable, (having nothing to do with the condo owner), but the A/C unit in the condo works very well. The Cream Pot French style restaurant downstairs has delicious food. And there are 3 more little shops/restaurants on the lobby level and a Japanese restaurant on the lower level. A 7-Eleven store is just south of the hotel. Tony Roma’s, Ala Moana Blvd, Kalakaua Avenue are just a few steps outside the hotel. There are many shops, restaurants and stores within walking distance. The beach is about a 10 min walk. The hotel/condo is located on the west end of the Ala Wai Canal and just east of McCully. Thank you Larry, for helping to make my nearly two week vacation/high school renunion trip to my former home on Oahu a very pleasant one. Cathi Pearson

Great Value & Location

The room was perfect for me and the bed was super comfy. There were necessary toiletries in the room like paper towels, hand soap and toilet paper. I liked how close I was to shopping and the view from the room was beautiful, even at night time. The property manager Larry is very helpful and responsive.

Excellent Location

My first impressions of this building was not great. But after getting rested up, I appreciated the condo. The building itself makes you feel like you are walking into a run down apartment but the condo itself is clean and everything is there you need. Location is excellent. No problems in checking in. The bed was super comfy to sleep in however the couch was very hard. We were a family’s of 3 and had to use the sofa. The pictures that are shown are very accurate. I appreciated the security measures in this building as well. Lots of restaurants around if you need a quick bite to eat. There is also beach chairs and towels provided which made things very convenient. Thanks Larry for everything I would definetly rent your condo again.

Great place to stay

The on line photos were accurate and shows the property exactly as is. The kitchen was great! It was well equipped with everything we needed. The oven and stove worked great and the refrigerator was full size with a large freezer compartment. Great location and quiet building. The owner was very attentive and when we had a couple minor issues he dealt with them right away. We have stayed at this property before and we will definitely stay there again in future!

Great place to stay!

We stayed in this unit for 15 nights and were extremely happy! The photos on VRBO accurately showed the unit. The kitchen was well set up with everything required for meal preparation. The fridge and freezer compartment worked great, as did the stove and oven. The shower had lots of hot water and water pressure. The AC worked great and the window did open to allow ventilation from outside when this was preferred. There was also a fan in the room for those preferring to not use the AC. The unit was clean upon arrival with plenty of sheets and towels. The owner provided a binder with all the information that we needed to know. Getting and returning the room keys was quick and easy. The elevators were slow at times because one of the three was out for maintenance. This was usually not an issue. The pool was nice but the area lacked shade. The location was great. Close to Waikiki beaches, Ala Moana mall and beach park, Don Quijote store and Walmart. Beach chairs and a beach umbrella were provided for use with this unit, which was very handy. There was a nice view of the canal. We will definitely stay here again!

Centrally located, comfortable apartment, gorgeous views

My husband and I stayed in the apartment for 3 weeks. The apartment is lovely, comfortable and very centrally located. Easy access to Waikiki, the bus system and walking distance to so many places including Hilton Village. The kitchen was well equipped for us to cook and a coffee machine is provided. There is also a swimming pool, jacuzzi and bbq area. Bonus was the beautiful rainbows and watching all the fireworks over Honolulu on New Years Eve from the 29th floor. Larry is a very responsive and accommodating host. He answered all my questions very quickly. My only complaint about the building was the elevators took forever to arrive and one of them was out of service. I would definitely recommend this for couples.
