Great stay

For our group of 16 adults, this was our 5th visit to The Rookery, which says volumes about how we rate this lovely large property - very comfortable, we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Wonderful Escape

A huge thank you to Karen and the team for our wonderful stay at the Dinney. The accommodation was perfect for a large group, and despite the numbers the house felt very spacious and comfortable. The outdoor setting was especially beautiful. With views spanning hills and water and ducks and geese playing below - it was just beautiful.

Beautiful house, equipped to a high standard. Liked the open lounge/ diner kitchen as we could all be together without being squeezed into one room. Attentive owners and good communication. Would love to go again

Our weekend away

We had a great time at The Dinney. Good location ,good standard of accommodation, helpful web site and the owner responded quickly to any questions I had. The outside space was a real bonus and we made use of it with the good weather we had. We had a few problems with the heating which the owner quickly responded to. We struggled to get the right hand dishwasher to work initially. We were a bit short of spoons. However these are minor things and shouldn’t distract from the great place The Rookery is.

The Rookery Excellent but shhhh, don’t tell too many people

Easy to find. Lovely location. We were blessed with lovely weather too. Photos don’t do it justice. All bedrooms and en-suites just perfect. Enclosed garden for the dogs. I found the fridge freezer space a bit of a challenge but that’s my fault, not our hosts ! There was a small fridge under the stairs which we plugged in to use as well. Marvellous space. Just great!

Birthday Celebration few days

We were a group of 17 friends having a 4 night stay at The Rookery to celebrate a big birthday. The Rookery exceeded our expectations and was a perfect location for us. It is fitted out to a very high standard and extremely well equipped. We really couldn’t fault it and would highly recommend.

Family wedding accommodation

As a family we booked the Rookery and other houses at the Dinney for extra family to attend a wedding at Davenport House. The Rookery was a fabulous house with so much space to accommodate guests. The standard of accommodation was excellent and the individual bathrooms for each room perfect. I would definitely recommend it as a lovely base to explore the beautiful countryside around.

19 of us got together to celebrate a birthday. We had a fabulous weekend at The Rookery. The accommodation was first rate and we would highly recommend. Biggest problem is that we want to do it all again!

Fantastic house in beautiful location

The Rookery is a great place to stay for a large group, with 9 excellent en-suite bedrooms and a great kitchen and living area. The outside space is also really good and the surrounding area is great for walking and sightseeing.

Fabulous stay

We really enjoyed our stay at The Rookery, which was for a family celebration of several big birthdays. The house was beautiful, all the bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms were modern and spacious, the kitchen was well equipped and the dining and living room areas were large and fabulous. And everything was spotless! We loved the outside seating areas too which was where we mainly spent our time as the weather was so good. And the views of the surrounding countryside were amazing. We also enjoyed a trip into Bridgnorth less than a 10 minute drive, which is a lovely market town and we enjoyed the Cliff funicular railway! We'd also recommend Sunday lunch at the Bull's Head which was less than 5 mins drive or about a 25 minute walk from the Cottage. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to visit again in the future.

Superb house, in a stunning location, with everything you could possibly need for a big family celeb

Our big family of 19 spent Christmas 2025 at Rookery. From the warm welcome from the owners, with wine and seasonal treats, to the stunning accommodation and superb location, we knew as soon as we arrived that we had found the perfect place. The big kitchen is fully equipped for a big party, and the huge dining table was perfect for our celebration dinners. Everyone in our party loved it there. I can't speak highly enough of it. It's exceptional.

accommodation in a superb setting

Our families had a wonderful time at The Dinney last week when we booked Kingfisher and The Rookery. It was a super setting for us all to come together in comfort to celebrate our Golden Wedding anniversary. All the information and photos on the website about the Rookery and Kingfisher were accurate and a true reflection of the quality of the accommodation. The individual bedrooms were spacious and beautifully decorated and the beds were really comfortable. The kitchens were very well equipped for cooking and eating in large numbers and the dining table was generously sized. There was ample room outside to enjoy the good weather we had lovely garden chairs and a new barbecue. Karen and Keith were friendly and extremely helpful hosts. All in all, spacious, beautiful accommodation in a superb setting. Go there and experience it yourself !!

Lovely modern spacious house which catered to our every need ! We are a party of nine couples who have a weekend away each year and The Rookery was fabulous. Well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and spotlessly clean ! What more do you need

Fantastic stay at a lovely location

Beautiful 9-bedroom property all en-suite. Well-appointed with all items provided. Gas BBQ wasn't the most efficient we've ever used and could have been larger cafetieres but that's being super picky. Otherwise, everything perfect in a perfect location. Will definitely return.

Fantastic property, so comfortable and well equipped. Karen was on hand with any help needed. Icing on the cake was the two scrummy cakes provided at our arrival. Would recommend to anyone looking for a great venue

Top-notch

Our first holiday at The Dinney was back in 2009 and we have returned there every year bar two (one due to Covid!). We initially stayed at the Kingfisher and were delighted later to be the first family to occupy the newly built Rookery, not least because of the increased numbers of our grandchildren. The accommodation, facilities & scenery are wonderful and we are already booked in again for next year.

Absolutely Stunning

This cottage was absolutely beautiful- we rented it out as part of our accommodation for guests attending our wedding and we had so many say how gorgeous it was! Surrounded by fields and a lake it was so perfect! We are all talking about coming back for big events and I highly recommend for big family get aways! What made it even more perfect was its dog friendly so our two golden retrievers adored the space and had so much fun running around! It’s truly idilic and quiet! Very close to the little village aswell which is really convenient!

Fantastic stay

This was our second stay at The Dinney, in The Rookery. What a fantastic, clean and comfortable property, it felt like a hotel. We were welcomed with the most tasty cakes and beautiful flowers. Each room had an en-suite which was amazing with 19 people sharing for a week. The table tennis and football table were enjoyed by many of the family. Within close reach of Bridgnorth it was the perfect base to head out exploring. Cannot thank you enough we will be looking to book again!! Xxx

Amazing stay in the Rookery

An amazing place with beautiful views across the valley. In rain or sunshine thay are glorious. The house is so well equipped we had absolutely everything we needed. A group of 20 and we cooked and served together, plenty of dishes, pans, cutlery,glasses, the lot. Firedoors can be a little noisy but that is safety so not an issue. Local walks and Bulls Head an added bonus.

A very enjoyable stay

2025 was the third consecutive year we have stayed here. The kitchen is exceptionally well equipped with ample pots pans and crockery etc. The bedrooms are very clean and comfortable and all 9 have separate en suites plus a bathroom downstairs. The configuration of the very large kitchen/sitting area really suits a large party. We would’ve liked brighter lighting in the sitting area and understand that this will be addressed.

Beautiful accommodation for family reunion

The Rookery at Dinney Farm is a truly stunning building with nine en-suite bedrooms and plenty of space for everyone to relax. The kitchen is beautiful and the views are just lovely. Lots of great walks in the area, including riverside walks with views of the gorgeous Shropshire countryside. All the rooms are spacious doubles, so no-one will feel as if they've been landed with a dud. We had such a brilliant three nights here and didn't want to leave!

Review

We stayed at the Rookery for 3 nights. We are 12 friends who have a reunion each year and this has been the ideal place for the last 2yrs. The house is beautiful well maintained with a spacious kitchen/dinner/lounge. There is plenty of utensils in the kitchen with 2 dishwashers and ovens. All bedrooms were comfortable and ensuite. The views are stunning with lots to do in the area. Thanks Karen for your sponges. We highly recommend The Rookery.
