Our stay was wonderful. The property was really well equipped and laid out.Lots of space inside and out. Facilities were all as described in the online literature.Location right on the river was perfect as the property offered kayaks and a paddle board we could use.Gym and sauna a real bonus. You WILL need a car here as it is a long way from public transport and some tricky roads but definitely worth the additional driving.

The house is amazing!

We had a great time staying outside Porto on the Douro. The house is beautiful, well situated, and perfect for our needs. A bonus was all of the different fruit trees, fish, and wildlife around the house. Kids loved the pool.

Incredible estate on the Douro River

The property was more beautiful and impressive than the pictures! The grounds are so lovely and maintained perfectly. Amazing that you have a main house, guest house, gym, laundry building, spa building, garage, and huge pool grill area. The river is lovely to look out at and the garden and flowers and spectacular! Kitchen is very well stocked with everything you need to cook and grocery stores are easy to get to. Dock for fishing and we even purchased and left a fishing rod for the next guests to enjoy. Water pressure is perfect in the bathrooms and the A/C units work well in the bedrooms. Be aware you need a good vehicle to get in and out of the property. The driveway is very steep. I would recommend an all wheel drive. Wifi is good and the host is lovely and helpful. I highly recommend the property. The closest nice dinner restaurant we found was Molha O Bico. It is very good food and a spectacular view it's just steep hills to get up to. Spend an entire day just soaking in the sun and views by the pool. It is a long windy drive into the big quintas but there are some small ones near by.
Fire pit and pool area views.
Towards the basketball court.
Amazing flowers!

Amazing modern luxury retreat right on the Douro

One of the most amazing places we have stayed in. A super modern complex of various concrete & glass cubes, with a fully equipped kitchen, gas bbq and outdoor kitchen, a nice pool, whirlpool, gym, kayaks & SUP, and much more. All rooms are air-conditioned. The whole experience is extra-ordinary. We really enjoyed the stay, sitting by the pool, watching the ships go buy or enjoying a glass of whine on the veranda during sunset. The only thing that you need to get used to is the descend down a couple of super steep curves, which require some extra courage for the cautious minds :) … but therefore you will be spoiled with your own little paradise, far away from everything else, except for the occasional river cruise. We‘d definitely stay again!

Great retreat!

The pictures lived up to the expectations, it was a gorgeous home on a picturesque property. The owner was easy to communicate with and very responsive. You definitely need to use a GPS to find the location but worth it!
