Enjoy expansive views of the Pacific Ocean and the Talamanca Mountains from the covered rooftop deck of this superb modern contemporary home. Custom designed in 2016 to take in the cool mountain breezes, this open concept home is situated at canopy level in a very private rainforest setting that highlights the sights and sounds of nature. The zero-edge pool separates the two living areas of this stunning home. Illuminated by LED lighting, it makes for a magical after dark experience.

The main living space includes a comfortable living and dining area adjacent to the gourmet kitchen, all with panoramic mountain and ocean views. The fully equipped kitchen has modern quartz countertops, a large granite island complete with seating for 4, and opens onto a covered outdoor terrace perfect for lingering over your morning coffee while watching the hummingbirds and toucans. The very spacious master bedroom and en suite bath were designed to showcase the amazing natural surroundings. Imagine watching clouds drift over the mountain tops through the vanity window, or gazing out at the ocean and the flora and fauna of the rainforest while body jets in the master shower gently massage you. Outside the master bedroom, a spiral staircase leads to a covered rooftop deck, the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine while watching the sunset. Yes, this is paradise!

The second and third bedrooms of this spectacular home are separated from the main section by the pool and covered terrace, offering complete privacy. The second bedroom opens to a beautifully landscaped ocean view patio. The third bedroom has a private patio with amazing mountain views. These two bedrooms share a full bath located just off of the pool area.

Activities in the Ojochal area are endless. Nine different beaches can be easily explored. Water sports include surfing, kayaking, standup paddleboard, snorkeling, and swimming. Opportunities for hiking, birdwatching, and wildlife viewing will satisfy the most ardent nature enthusiast. Those looking for adventure will find ATV tours, horseback tours, canopy tours/zip lines, sport fishing, and golf are all nearby.

The village of Ojochal is well renowned for its world class restaurants offering international cuisine. French, Italian, Mediterranean, and Indonesian restaurants are a short drive from the home. Numerous Costa Rican restaurants dotting the highway offer fresh and delicious local options.

4th time renting this gem of a cassa .We actually looked for and found the waterfall this time . What an amazing sight it was its rainy season and the torrential down pours gave it plenty of water .Its a little out of the way but well worth it !We visited some of our old favorite establishments for food and tried a new one Al chile que si . Great food and the staff was super attentive .we took a tour of Manuel Antonio with Beatrix she was the very best guide you could have super smart and knew so much about the park and Costa Rica .I golfed at OSA golf club a nice little 9 hole course about 35 mins from the house . You can play it twice for 18 and they rent clubs.With the help of Massi we arranged a couples massage at the house our last day . So worth it ! This was our first time during the rainy season the weather was usually sunny and nice for the first part of the day but you could bet that every afternoon or evening there would be a torrential downpour . It was super relaxing to listen to it from the house as we relaxed reading books ! Love this place and love Costa Rica ! Pura Vida Ron and Lisa

Great place to enjoy Costa Rica

My wife and I returned with our grown children and it was as magical as the first time. Ojochal is a great spot. Far enough from the touristy towns but not too far. We really enjoyed Citrus (the restaurant) and Los Gatos Locos (mexican). The house has everything you need and sitting on the upper deck is unmatched. Don't look any further. Read the directions that you receive thoroughly ahead of your arrival! Great stay.

Villa Cascadas is a phenomenal property. You will be blown away upon arrival, that I can promise. You are in the jungle, so just mentally prepare yourselves for being surrounded by wildlife. We saw a Coral Snake and several Brazilian Wandering Spiders on the premises. We left them alone and they left us alone. You will definitely see all kinds of new birds in the trees adjacent to the property. You will also hear a fair amount of Howler Monkeys, though we never saw them. A 4x4 is a MUST for this property, but just Costa Rica in general. We had a Suzuki Jimmy, which is all you need. Don’t be alarmed, but you do have to cross two creeks to get to the property. Both creeks are maybe 1-2” deep…one has a rock base, and the other one has a concrete base. This caused us some concern when we saw the arrival instructions, but they were really navigable and non-threatening (even during periods of rain). I can’t recommend this property enough. Don’t hesitate if you are looking for a wonderful Costa Rican experience.

Incredible property and stay!

Everything about our trip was amazing. The house is beautiful, and exactly as described. The owners, property managers, and Uvita Welcome Center were helpful and very responsive. I do strongly suggest arriving before dark (which was 6 pm) at least the first night. If you're looking for a secluded, jungle paradise getaway, I HIGHLY recommend Villa Cascadas!

Nice place in Ojochal

Our family of four enjoyed this house. Just 10 minutes from the main road. Everything was clean and generally well maintained. The pool was large enough for everyone. Kitchen has all the basics to cook a nice meal. The only minor conplaint is the interior furniture is not comfortable. interior

Our dream honeymoon!

Our honeymoon stay in Costa Rica at Villa Cascadas was absolutely unforgettable. The villa, the location and stunning views played a huge part in making it so special. The place was even more stunning in person than in the photos—truly idyllic! The location was perfect, offering total privacy and easy access to both nature and local attractions. From breathtaking views to the peaceful surroundings, we couldn’t have asked for a more magical place to celebrate our new chapter. Highly recommend!

Amazing place

The house was fantastic! Google maps works good to find the house or Waze, I would recommend having a backup printed map, not driving at night and a 4x4. The hike to get the waterfall is easy with an amazing view. Another thing about the house that’s a plus is the main house has the master with 2 bedrooms in another section for privacy. I would stay here again

Great views, great house amazing country

My wife and I stayed here for 7 nights and loved the property. The pool and rooftop deck were super cool. The (basically) private waterfall and swimming hole in the community were out of a movie. The town was nice and the people of Costa Rica are amazing.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay!!

Here’s a revised version of your review: We stayed at Villa Cascadas for 5 nights, and the scenery and views from the house are absolutely breathtaking. Waking up to the sound of howling monkeys at dawn, along with the songs of birds and the soothing rush of the nearby river, was an unforgettable experience. It’s crucial to have a 4x4 vehicle if you plan to stay here. We drove an AWD Rav4, which handled the terrain well enough. The journey to the house can be a bit challenging, especially since the roads leading into the mountains are unpaved, with sharp curves and steep slopes. However, as long as you arrive while it’s still daylight, navigating the road should be manageable. I totally recommend staying here. I would love to come back soon.

Beautiful Home

When we arrived on the property my 28 year old daughter said, "Are we famous?" She couldn't get over how beautiful the setting and the set up was. It was perfect for our needs. We loved waking up at sunrise to all of the birds that we all worked to identify as well as howler monkeys. The view was stunning as well. We eventually learned of a few stops to submerge in watering holes on our way up the dirt road to the house. I would and have recommended this home to friends.

3rd time's a charm !

This is our third time renting this wonderful home. This time we brought our adult children . Since we are familiar with the area we shared all of our previous Experiance's . One of the best was my surprise thanks to Massi for helping me set up Valentine's Day couples massages at the house ! We dined at some of our favorite spots Citrus , Scala and Maracuya .We went to Whales tail national park . We went atving with Jungle atv tours highly recommend . Spent a few days just hanging at the house . Relaxing sunning and using the pool. The weather was perfect ! High 80's and sunny every day ! We can't wait to come back ! Pura Vida !

Great Adventure!

We absolutely loved this location and our trip to Costa Rica. The house is beautiful and views are amazing. The area was really safe and everyone was very helpful and nice. The gated community has a waterfall and an area where you can access the creek and rocks. We will definitely be back!

Great stay at a fabulous home

Just want to say what a great home Jeff and Paula provided for our stay of 8 nights! We truly didn't want to leave. Even before our travel, we were impressed with Paula answering all our questions to the great information and directions provided by Massi. The key pick-up worked very well as we arrived later than we thought and it was nice not having to coordinate meeting someone at the property. When we walked in you could see the care and professionalism of this home. It was prepared like a luxury hotel and clean as could be. The home itself is laid out wonderfully and the kitchen is fantastic for preparing meals and we used it a lot... because we just didn't want to leave! From the breathtaking views to the pool (which we spent 3-4 hours a day in) to the roof deck, to the grounds. Just wonderful! When we did go out, we did visit several great restaurants. Citrus, Exotica, and Ballena Bistro were our favorites although be careful at Exotica as the tables are very wobbly. And we recommend BM Market in Uvita as their selection is very good, a number of good wines and spirits, and take advantage of their whole roasted chicken for a fast lunch back at the house. It is only 25 minutes from the home. As for the drive to the home... yes, get a 4-wheel drive. But this is not our first time renting in Costa Rica so I can tell that there are far worse drives. Overall, this was one of the nicest vacations we have ever been on. We highly recommend this great home!

Great stay off the beaten path

We loved the house and Ojochal - lots of beautiful waterfalls nearby and it was really nice to be right in the rainforest. I absolutely loved the views of the mountains behind the clouds and the beach. We visited several great restaurants in Ojochal!

What a way to experience Costa Rica!

The home is an absolute gem! This was our 5th trip to Costa Rica, we typically get to stay for 3-6 weeks at time so we’ve have had the opportunity to experience the country and can tell you that we absolutely loved this home. I’m a bit picky when it comes to cleanliness and this home was one of the cleanest. I read a lot of people in the reviews having some sort of complaint about the road to get to the house…. It was pretty darn easy! I saw a small Nissan Sentra make it’s way up. Definitely don’t recommend doing that but just saying it’s possible. If you’ve ever driven on any type of gravel or dirt road- it will be easy for you. Crossing the streams was actually pretty fun and beautiful! The whole area is beautiful so much so that my wife was literally moved to tears by the stunning views! Two things to consider in booking this home- 1st if you’re looking for more of a party town, super easy access to beaches, or more of hotel/resort style of stay around people. This isn’t the place for you, however…… you can still experience that if that’s what you desire it’s just not close by. 2- If you’re coming to CR to experience its abundance of beauty, waterfalls, beaches, wildlife etc. then what are you waiting for? This home is luxurious, private, remote and has ALL of those things plus some. The owners are fantastic and the property manager can help you with anything you may need. While we were there we didn’t need anything other than more time!

This home's location is absolutely ideal. Villa Cascadas is located in the exclusive gated community of Avancari. An easily accessible 80' waterfall with natural swimming holes downstream are yours to enjoy. Wildlife abounds. Frequent visitors include howler monkeys, toucans, parrots, hummingbirds, and many butterflies, including the beautiful blue morpho. The gorgeous unpopulated beaches of the southern Ballena Coast are only a 15 minute drive away. Humpback whales frequent these waters and Olive Ridley sea turtles nest on Playa Tortuga, with September and October being the best opportunity to observe both. Four of Costa Rica's best national parks are easily accessible. Marino Ballena, which boasts of beautiful beaches and the famous Whale's Tale, is less than 30 minutes away. Manual Antonio, Costa Rica's most visited park, is an easy drive to the north on the coastal highway, making it an excellent day trip. Tours to Corcovado, the crown jewel of Costa Rica's national park system, can be arranged from Uvita or Sierpe. Chirripo, which can be reached in under 2 hours, is home to Costa Rica's highest mountain at 12,532'.
