Family Break

Great relaxing location with peaceful surroundings and comfortable accommodation. Plenty of room for two couples to catch up and explore the area. Close access to the motorway and train station.

A hidden gem

This was our fourth time staying here. It’s a great space for a family get together. An impressive building and has a lord of the manor feel. Great open outdoor view across the countryside with deer roaming freely. We will be back again. John

Just beautiful!

Geltside Garden Cottage is absolutely delightful. Nestled in the lovely village of Wetheral and furnished to a very high standard with every home comfort and a wonderful view. This is the perfect home away for home, only wish we could have stayed longer.

Lovely Cottage with Beautiful Gardens and views

This is a really lovely single floor cottage with beautiful views and gardens. Very well presented and very clean. The hosts were really helpful with a couple of minor issues that were resolved immediately. All rooms great proportions with very nice furniture and kitchen. We had a lovely stay, thank you.

Great position, very comfortable

We were very happy with our accommodation in this familiar village of Wetheral. Our visitors were very complimentary and said what a great place to stay. Quiet, with a feeling of being in the country. Loved watching the deer.

Very nice place to stay, a couple of tweaks required

Good accommodation. Clean and comfortable. A little tired in places, some of the decor could do with a refresh. Good equipped kitchen and separate utility room. We had to use the second bedroom as the curtains in the first bedroom let a lot of light in and made it a bit difficult to sleep. Some of the crockery was chipped as well as quite a few glasses. We have emailed as requested regarding this but not sure it was received as we have had no response. Nice, convenient location, good access to Carlisle, Lancaster and even better we were able to take the train as station about 10 minutes walk away. Pleasant patio area for when the weather is clement and we did make use of the surrounding area for some good walks. David the owner was very friendly.

Thank you for your review, we are pleased you enjoyed your stay. Apologies for not responding to your email earlier, we were waiting on the owners coming back from holiday so we could respond accordingly. As you know they do live next door and they would have been happy to replace the chipped crockery and glasses had you mentioned it to David when you were speaking to them. The owners do regularly decorate the cottage and they are planning a refresh later in the year. We hope we can welcome you back again in the future.
