A beautiful cottage in a quiet rural area. Very dog friendly and very friendly hosts who helped with recommendations for walks and the local area.Garden is dog safe and enclosed and we would recommend to our friends.

A comfortable and pretty converted barn with ample living and sleeping space, set in a horse farm with lovely rural scenery yet within minutes of villages with pubs, restaurants, shops etc. The area also has many historical sites of interest. The hosts were welcoming, very responsive to requests for information, yet discreet. What more could one ask for!!??

We had a lovely stay at Hengoed near Ruthin. The cottage is very well equipped with everything you need and is located in a lovely area. I have to say the beds are probably one of the comfiest we have ever slept in! We stayed with our children and dog and they were very happy here. The enclosed garden is great and you can sit and enjoy the amazing scenery. There is a lovely footpath that can be accessed from the farm which takes you down to a beautiful river and woodland so was great for dog walks. Helen and Tony were lovely hosts and were on hand if you needed anything. We really enjoyed using the local facilities in Ruthin such as the tennis courts and local swimming pool and found the location central enough to enjoy all the attractions that North Wales has to offer. We would definitely come here again!

Great place to stay

The cottage is in a great location to explore north Wales, lots of places to visit. The cottage has all the amenities you need, is very clean and the hosts are incredibly friendly if you have any questions Would definitely recommend a stay here

Beautiful location

Amazing cottage with a lovely enclosed garden for the dogs. Lovely location with plenty of wildlife to see and lovely views.

Beautiful cottage in lovely location

Very well equipped cottage, set in lovely quiet location. Stunning views all around. Very friendly hosts. Lovely garden to sit in, which we greatly enjoyed during our stay. Very close to all of Ruthin’s amenities.Would definitely stay again.

Perfect peace away from fireworks

Great hosts welcomed us on arrival; comfy & well appointed house with fab log burner.We visited over New Year and enjoyed walking from the property into woods at the back. Excellent location, must be beautiful in spring & summer.

Great cottage

The cottage had everything to make our stay great. Enjoyed meeting the owners. They were helpful and very friendly. The location was remote, but our GPS made out trips easy to go and come.

So relaxing

Beautiful cottage, wonderful views and so relaxing. Everything we needed for our family weekend away. Would love this cottage to be where I retire.

Great location for a short break

We had a wonderful stay, the cottage is beautiful and has everything you need, great views , good walks by the river, and good location with plenty places to visit nearby. Helen and Tony are very welcoming. We would highly recommend it.

Very many thanks for this nice review. We are so glad these guests enjoyed their stay and would welcome them back anytime! We do have a bit of a micro-climate here in the Vale of Clwyd and often, like over recent days, miss much of the rain forecast to follow the heatwave (rain seems to hit Snowdonia and the coast more than us ). I would just add that 3 days is not enough to see all there is to see in the area - a week would be much better ( and better value too)!

It was a real pleasure for us to have you stay and we were impressed by your zest for hiking in the surrounding area and your determination to experience as much as you could in the time available.. It was very pleasant chatting with you on all sorts of subjects and gratifying that the cottage was immaculate when you departed. What more could a host want! Next time try out some Ebikes in the hills, forests and small valleys hereabouts!

Beautiful cottage

Great two story cottage on a farm with sheep and horses. Loved the picket fenced backyard and the views of the valley. Easy access to the more dramatic mountains of Snowdonia and a great walk by the creek to town with a great pub or cafe.

Superb holiday cottage

Tony and Helen were the perfect hosts for our stay at Hengoed Farm Holiday Cottage. The cottage is beautiful, well equipped. Comfortable and in the most lovely location. We all enjoyed staying in the cottage and would recommend the property for others to stay in. Clare

We do try to keep that traditional feel which we hope makes a pleasant change from the ultra modern interiors which seem to be in vogue in some quarters! However we still make sure that the facilities provide everything that a modern traveller needs.

A lovely property, Very clean with everything we needed, in a beautiful setting. Helen and Tony were very welcoming and friendly. Ruthin is a great part of Wales, so much to do and explore. A lovely peaceful week.

A wonderful week in North Wales

I thoroughly recommend this lovely cottage. It is one of the few times we have stayed somewhere that really looked like it does in the pictures, if not better. The cottage is a lovely mix of traditional, but with modern comforts. The location is great allowing guests to visit the beach, go walking and many other activities. The hosts were very welcoming and happy to answer any questions or make recommendations.

Relaxing Stay

Hosts Helen and Tony were fantastic from start to finish. Beautiful surroundings clean and spacious cottage. I visited with my family brother and niece an Toby the dog 🐕 we all had an amazing time would and will look to book again. Thank you both for our time at this location would recommend 5 🌟

Beautiful Hengoed Farm

Hengoed farm is the most perfect setting for rest and relaxation. The beds were cozy, the house was well appointed, and with everything we needed. Thank you for the tip about the wild garlic, the directions to the tea house, and showing how to operate the cooker.

Lovely cottage and location

The property and the style was lovely. Really peaceful and beautiful views. Good location for travelling around from. The walk along the river at the bottom of the field was lovely. Helen and Tony were lovely and friendly and mentioned places to go. It was lovely seeing the horses too. Would definitely recommend.

Very relaxing break

Tony and Helen made us very welcome. Everything was made very easy to have a relaxing stay. The cottage is very well equipped and warm and cosy. Storm Babet meant the weather was especially wet, but this did not spoil the stay. Thank you.
