An amazing find

A very warm welcome, a very clean and comfortable property with everything we needed. Comfortable beds. The pools and outside areas were fantastic and the children loved them. A beautiful quiet area with well stocked supermarkets nearby. Highly recommend this property.

Gorgeous converted barn - credit to the owners who have put their heart and soul into the property. Super clean and comfortable - super friendly and kind hosts - fab area for visiting war graves - beaches st mont Michel etc Amazing choice of indoor / outdoor pool and pool table!! Fun fun or relaxy relaxy it’s a VERY quiet area !! Thankyou Matt and Vicky for letting us stay in your precious property. Hope to be back one day!!

Good location but gite disappointing

Owners were v friendly and helpful. However, the gite was disappointing. The upstairs got really hot and if you opened the windows to help cool it down the flies came in. The fly trap light in the kitchen didn’t really work so most meals were spent trying to swat away the flies. The indoor pool was a great hit with the kids but the water seemed quite murky and the indoor pool decor was v dark so it wasn’t a nice place to sit. The bed covers were synthetic and made you sweat. It would make a big difference to have cotton bedding. The location of the gite was brilliant. Near enough to all the local attractions including Bayeux, Mont St Michel and St Malo, and the surrounding countryside is stunning. Could be a really nice place to stay with some adjustments.

We are saddened to read your review after when we spoke in person you said you had a lovely time, we would have hoped you would have spoken to us in person regarding any queries/issues about anything, where we could have helped/explained ie: I could have changed the bedding for a different set if you found it too warm, yet we were not given the opportunity. In response to some of your criticisms: The swimming pool is “Rock Grey” in colour (not blue) so the water is not murky its just the colour of the pool, as shown in the advertising pictures. The PH level is checked every day. We are sorry you found it dark in the indoor pool area, if you had looked to your left there is extra lighting where the seats are, which you must have missed, again if you had said, we could have shown you. In each of the upstairs bedrooms there is a fan, an arctic air blower and all the windows have shades, which can be pulled down fully to shade the room making it cooler. There is also a very large industrial fan in the lounge area. When you left, we noticed the kitchen door fly net was hanging off, I’m sure that would have been the reason for the flies, we have since fixed this. Please thank your lovely Grandchildren who left us a note saying “thank you for having us in your lovely home” We take on board all constructive criticism to improve our business for our future guests. A very happy summer week.

The property was as described and the owner welcomed us on arrival, showing us around and explaining various bits of equipment. Unobtrusively cleaning and maintaining the water features regularly during the week. Lots of different seating areas to catch the sun/shade. The building is a converted barn so there is no sound barrier in the general living quarters-so with 10 people watching TV, listening to music, gaming, talking, it can get a bit noisy -but that is for the occupiers to sort out! The property is a bit isolated with limited facilities in the nearby village-small general store, bakery and tabac. During our stay the tabac was closed and the bakery closed for the 2 end weeks of August. Both the 2 nearest main towns -St Hilaire and Avranches were worth visiting and contained the usual Supermarches. The beaches were about an hours drive and well worth visiting. Best avoided is Mont St Michel--unless you love crowds--keep this for an out of season visit! In conclusion we enjoyed our stay (5adults/4 children) anc can happily recommend this property.

Great Stay

We were originally a group of 9, but two couldn't make it so we were 7. There was so much space that we never felt on top of each other. The property was very well equipped with all appliances and facilities as accurately described in the listing. Matthew responded quickly to all our pre-stay queries and met us on arrival and gave a tour of the property. We spent a lot of time in the indoor pool and sauna as well as the kichen, that's very large. The pool table was a great success with many tournaments! The upstairs was considerably hotter than downstairs, although it was 34 degrees! We moved the fans around, but if you're going when it's hot, take some additional personal fans with you for upstairs. The outdoor seating is plentiful and comfortable and the small outdoor pool a welcome cooling off place in the heat. We used the bbq twice which had charcoal and firelighters provided which was greatly appreciated. We chose to use some portable bbq's, topped up with the charcoal provided as these were easily disposable and saved us from cleaning the bbq. The location is pleasantly rural and quiet with easy access to the local town via a 5 minute drive for a pharmacies, small supermarket and boulanger. There is also an artisan cheese shop within a few minutes walk. We dined 3 times in Avranches and St Hilaire in reasonably priced and very good restaurants. Matthew was helpful with recommendations and booking. Overall a very enjoyable and relaxed break and we would

Excellent week-end de 4 jours en famille. Hôte attentif, disponible et discret à la fois. Logement parfait. Juste un petit problème avec le sauna qui ne fonctionnait pas, rien de grave on à profité de la piscine et des 2 jacuzzi.

Belle prestation

Propriétaire très sympa, belle maison très bien équipée. De bons moments en famille en terrasse avec barbecue, dans la piscine, le jaccuzi, le sauna, autour du billard, près du poêle le soir en jouant. Une fabrique à bons souvenirs. Objectif atteint.

Brilliant Place to Stay

Three grandchildren, parents and grandparents all found this a great place to stay. The indoor and outdoor pools were a success with all generations and the pool table was popular in the evening. Matthew and Vicky were superb hosts and nothing was too much trouble. The house provided a great setting for a very successful family holiday. Cannot praise to highly.

Gemütliches Häuschen in ruhiger Lage

In ruhiger gemütlicher landschaftlicher Umgebung gelegen. Man erreicht mit dem Auto Supermärkte etc in 15 min. Ein ganz toller Strand( Carolles-Plage)wurde uns vom Gastgeber empfohlen, der in 40 min Autofahrt zu erreichen war. Ausserdem ist man auch schnell in der Bretagne. Wir waren mit 4 Erwachsenen, 4 Kinder und einem Hund da und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die beiden Pools waren natürlich nicht nur für die Kids das Highlight. Die beiden Gastgeber waren super nett und sehr hilfsbereit.Es waren tolle erholsame 2 Wochen.
