The Pilot House B & B "Crow's Nest" in downtown Bayfield is just 1 block up from the Madeline Island Ferry and boat tours, shops & restaurants. Private keypad entry to main entrance door Free WIFI. The beach next to the Madeline Island Ferry is the start of the Point to La Point swim race. The "Crows Nest" Sleeps 2 and has breath taking views of Madeline Island off in the distance and looks over the top of the downtown Bayfield area. Walk to everything within 3 blocks of The Pilot House. Breakfast Blue Berry Muffins, yogurts, orange & grape juice. Coffee maker with coffee and condiments in room along with a Mini Refrigerator. Guests may use our Ice Machine in refrigerator and microwave. Paper plates, plastic forks, knives, spoons next to refrigerator in dining room.
After making a reservation, we will email you and you must immediately reply to our email (not VRBO messaging) with your full address, names of guests and which are adults and children and their addresses, for Wisconsin Guest Registry Statute.
Please note that VRBO will not allow us to message you with our email address and if we attempt to do so, they will block the email out. This must be done within 1 hour of us after we contact you by email or text. After we receive we will then email you from our email the arrival instructions, door codes, and any applicable parking permits to print and bring to your accommodation on date of your arrival.

The Pilot House is a great place to stay!

We spent four nights here and found it very comfortable and enjoyable. Close to everything in downtown Bayfield - we could easily walk to all of the restaurants and shops, as well as the Apostle Islands Cruises and the ferry to Madeline Island. The hosts were very friendly and readily available if anything was needed. We would definitely stay here again!

We had a very nice time in Bayfield. We went to the Chataqua concert and took the grand tour of the Apostle Islands. The Crows Nest where we stayed was very nice. It would have been nice if there had been a few less steps to get to it, but it was nice. It had what we needed. It was clean and quiet and had a nice view of the town below.

The property is close to everything you need in Bayfield. As long as you do not have mobility issues, you are able to walk to the downtown area fairly easily. The house is beautiful and clean. We had access to a light breakfast of muffins, yogurt and juice with coffee access in our room.

Nice condo 1 room bed bathroom tub shower me and wife did little getaway. Was fun great spot. Had a spot in the lawn for my Truck And fishing boat worked out well

Quiet setting

Nice views. We did not have much opportunity to interact with the other guests as they seemed to stay in their rooms and not enjoy the common spaces. Breakfast is adequate but unremarkable.

What a view!!!

This was our first time at The Pilot House. It is exactly as described. Clean and comfortable. The highlight to us was the deck looking out to the lake. Beautiful and relaxing. Would definitely go back. Jack, the host, was very accommodating and helpful.

Overall good stay

We arrived 15 minutes early after a 4 hr drive with large trailer and had nowhere to park it due to festival so since door code worked we thought it would be okay to just drop our things quick and then find trailer parking. Owner scolded us for arriving early and parking trailer on street in which we apologized and tried to explain but he just walked right by us and never spoke to us entire 4 days. Overall stay was great though and convenient location for us as vendors at festival.

Perfect location, great views

Lovely location & views. The bed was comfortable which was a great relief & we had overall a very peaceful and enjoyable stay. A little more attention to detail would make this place amazing. 1-there was an odd smell in the main downstairs area of the residence. Our upstairs room itself smelled fine, the odor we noticed was only downstairs. 2-there were accommodations for a light breakfast in the downstairs kitchen area, muffins, yogurt, etc. which was very nice. We noticed a semi-full pot of old coffee sitting in the kitchen when we arrived and it was still sitting there untouched the next morning when we went downstairs. In our room, there was a small hotel style "pouch" coffee maker, but when we went to use it (after realizing no fresh coffee downstairs) we discovered a soggy pouch still in the pot from someones previous room stay. Having fresh coffee downstairs for guests in a pump thermos would be a great addition to the muffins/yogurt provided. Making sure no evidence of prior guests before new guests arrive will make a huge difference. 3- We left some windows open at nite for fresh air. In the A.M. there were quite a few mosquitos in room and we realized one of the windows (on the left if facing the bed) had a small gap at bottom between the screen and sash so that is likely where mosquitos entered. 4-Suggest closing the open space between bedroom & bathroom w/ plexiglass for privacy.

The property was a great place to enjoy Bayfield! The lake view out of the crow’s nest was special! Inside was well cared for and clean! It’s not a large room, but has a large bath that helps it feel larger.

Nice place to stay, right by the lake. Unfortunately the Jacuzzi was out of order. Everything else was too notch, will stay at again when we go back to the area.

We had an amazing time at the Pilot House! Having some breakfast options in the morning and coffee and goodies was definitely a plus. We also enjoyed the Crow's Nest with the jacuzzi which was perfect after hiking to the Sea Caves at Meyer Beach. Thanks so much Jack for your hospitality and sending back the clothes I left behind! Crows nest

Had a great time. Nice room with lake view. Stairs steep but we made it. Jacuzzi did not work. Otherwise nice, quiet, clean lodging.
