Charming small apartment in the heart of Paris
Bright, quiet, small apartment of charm in one of the most romantic zones of Paris
in the heart of Paris.
Situated on the third floor (no elevator) in a building dating back to the early 1900
in rue Bichat .
In front of the antique “Hopital Saint Louis” which dates to 1600 on the side of the
Canal Saint Martin in a calm area, but still the true old Paris.
The apartment is composed of a bedroom with a matrimonial bed (140 x 200 cm)
with a showerbath, and a living room with a sofabed (120x200), fully equipped kitchen
in a small space, but well organized.
The apartment has a television, telephone, ADSL wireless internet, clothwasher and
dryer, dishwasher, refrigerator, oven, toaster, hairdryer, bedlinens and towels.
The history of the Canal Saint-Martin
It was the idea of Louis XIV, which was initiated by Napoleon I, and was
completed in 1825.
The Canal had an intense activity, many barges transported daily sand and coal.
Today, the canal has maintained its treelined shores, with small squares and its
Parisian bistrots, and its Venetian metallic bridges making this area one of the most
romantic areas of Paris.
One should not miss a visit to 102 “Quai de Jemmapes”, l’Hotel du Nord, which
was made famous in the film by Marcel Carné and today has been transformed into
a restaurant which has been able to preserve its warm and authentic characteristics.
A short walk from the canal offers you a visit to the old hospital of “Saint Louis” in
the magnificent convent of Recollets, built in 1700, and also a boat trip along the canal
to the “Parc de la Villette”.
Desire for nature? The 10° arrondissement is full of small squares and gardens.
