We had the absolute best Christmas stay and would love to come back! Had absolutely everything needed for a comfortable stay! Beautiful gardens, quirky pieces amazing location! Loved!! Thank you for having us.

Schoolies Holiday

Thank you so much for allowing our young men to stay at your property to celebrate the end of year 12. You were very accommodating to the whole group and a great communicator. The boys had a fantastic time. thanks again.

Louise, it was our pleasure the boys were very respectful of Shirley Blue whilst still enjoying their Schoolies week. We hope we can welcome their families to Shirley Blue for their Byron holidays.

Poorly Maintained

Gate entry won’t shut Front screen door won’t close Toilet seat in main needs tightening Smoke alarm not replaced since 2016 Battery beeping 2 deliveries whilst there and one disappeared from in house Toaster not working Electrical output near bin not working Light in bathroom flickering Oven doesn’t work as you can’t read settings and no manual to refer to. Plant in garage scratched car & one person Bed in studio unsafe and unstable The owner accessed the property and walked through a number of times to walk her dogs in full view of the outdoor bath. Head down and did not look at us. Manager said it was a friend who didn’t know the house was booked but we had our 2 cars in the carport that she walked straight past. Very disappointing experience in multiple ways!

A group of mature women would be expected not to disturb neighbours and abide by house rules. Sadly not the case in this instance. The place was left in a horrible state. Vegetation was damaged . Security needed to be called.. Incessant harassment followed. An all round bad experience

A lovely stay

Lovely home in perfect location in Byron! Vibrant and home with charm. Some things requiring maintenance, but we had everything we needed and the space was clean and welcoming.

The location of the house was great and it was an easy walk into Byron village and the beach. The house is spacious and has loads of quirky character.

Fabulous property

The house was rented by our 18 year old daughters. The girls had a wonderful stay and wouldn't hesitate to book this accommodation again.

The girls rented Shirley Blue for their Schoolies week. They were great guests, very respectful of the house and our neighbours. We would happily recommend them and welcome them back to Shirley Blue.

Great Location

The house is situated in a quiet lane with very little through traffic so it was very peaceful. It is only a short walk to the centre of Byron and also to the beach. We had our dog with us so it was great to be able to take him to Belongil Beach which is beautiful and dog friendly. The house and garden are as in the photos and the kitchen is very well equipped. We had a lovely relaxing stay here and would recommend the property to other families.

Shirley Blue short stay.

The house was very cute. Close to town although having to cross Shirley street was sometimes busy. The bedroom doors did not close well. Messages were answered very quickly and questions answered. We enjoyed our stay.

Great stay

We had a lovely stay at Shirley Blue. We were 4 single women and it was perfect for coming together but also finding spaces to get away from it all. We came in winter and the house is lovely and cosy, but I would love to go back in summer and make use of the various outdoor places to hang out and relax. Communication with the manager was very good and responsive. The position is great, a short walk to the beach and the main Byron shop, but still really quiet. And it's a little bit before town so you don't have to negotiate the traffic. I highly recommend this property.

Great location / comfortable house

We had six adults sharing the house and self contained studio. The house was well furnished and we loved the garden - so nice and cool and very tranquil. Awesome location - 5 min walk to the dog beach and into Main Street. Easy kitchen to cook in. Only downside was a neighbour complained to the owner about our two dogs barking for 15-20 min when we left them at home at 11am. The owner was quite stressed about this, which in turn stressed us. We thought the neighbours were quite unreasonable and didn’t understand why the owner took it so seriously when there was nothing in the terms and conditions about noise during the day. If your dogs do this when left alone I wouldn’t recommend staying for this reason.

Joanna, although Shirley Blue is pet friendly, we accept dogs by prior arrangement, we certainly don't take dogs which disturb residential comfort at any time of the day or night. The two dogs in question here were in no way suitable for holiday accommodation. Twice I was called to the property by disturbed neighbours to find two large anxious dogs, who had been left alone, barking completely out of control. I would not recommend these dogs to any other holiday accommodation. Paul

Charming & relaxing place to holiday

Great faciltities, loads of charm and plenty of spaces inside and in the garden to relax. Added bonus was pet friendly and central location. Thanks Kate & Paul!

Unique Character House

Wonderful centrally located house. Fantastic for furry friends with secure fencing. Outdoor bath was a lovely bonus. Plenty of day beds to chill and relax.

Great house....great location

Thanks Kate and Paul, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Shirley Blue. Such a great house clean, comfy, relaxing and located within easy walking distance to town and the best dog beach. Loved the outdoor hot shower! More than happy to recommend.

Great spaces for what we needed

The different spaces throughout the garden and the property were great. The only thing that was a problem was the ants. Understandably this is a tropical area and the weather with rain forecast didn't help but the ants were a continual nuisance through the lounges etc. Other than that Kate was a delight to deal with and we loved the place/

Thank you for pointing out the issue. Sorry to hear that was the case. Obviously we are not big on throwing chemicals around willy nilly. We understand Irish tourists are not used to seeing insects. However a simple phone call would have been the best approach, in which case we would have been more than happy to send in professional help to eradicate the problem.

Great location

We loved our stay at Shirley Blue, it offered everything for our family holiday. We found the house and studio very clean and comfortable, with private spots to rest and relax. 5 min walk to town and the local dog beach meant we could leave our car. Definately recommend

Charming cottage

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Shirley Blue. The cottage was superbly located within walking distance of Belongil Beach and Byron Bay shops, with a bike track at the rear leading all the way into town. My teenage boys had fun walking about, skateboarding and surfing while we enjoyed reading and relaxing around the house and garden. The house is a charming whalers' cottage tastefully decorated with antiques and quirky second hand furniture, slightly rustic but the photos don't do it justice. Kitchen equipment is basic but there is a fantastic BBQ and all perfectly adequate to rustle up a salad. Some more cutlery, a sharp knife and a really good mop of the floors and we'd give it 5 stars.

An artist's paradise

The photos don't do it justice, there are so many interesting pieces of art in this place and such an amazing location right near both shops and beach. only thing i suggest is bring plenty of tioletries as they provide little by the way of toilet paper, soap etc.

Our family loved Shirley Blue, well appointed, got everything, lots of comfortable corners inside & out for all of us to find our niche. To be able to gather as a group at night time around a spacious beautiful outdoor setting which is weather proof, was a big plus.
