This home sits on the shore of Lake Superior. White cap waves and you can hear the surf in the home on occasion. This very private and secluded home sits on over an acre, has a beautiful private sandy beach. Minutes from casinos, The Soo Locks, Canada, Taquamennon Falls, White Fish Point, golf courses, museums, light houses, designated snow mobile trails, great hunting and fishing.

Sit on the deck and enjoy a cup of coffee as you look out at Canada and watch the freighters go by in the distance. The sandy beach and shallow water offers great swimming for the kids.This is a gorgeous scenic area perfect for many year round activities. The home is kept immaculate and is in excellent new repair. We work hard to provide a beautiful home and setting.

Phenomenal stay

First impression was clean, clean, clean! Lots of room. Beautiful views of the lake. Quiet and peaceful! Lots of activities close by if you want to see the sights. Thoroughly enjoyed and will be back!

Beautiful Location

Beautiful cabin tucked just far enough away from other cabins. With young kids, loved the convenience of having the washer and dryer. The beach was sandy enough for my kids to enjoy time building sandcastles. We did did not swim as much at the cabin because of the rocks in the water, but there are some nice sandy beaches just a short drive away. Only 30 minute drive to the Soo. Fluffy towels and warm beds! We enjoyed our time staying at this cabin!

We had a great stay—the property description does not do enough justice to how serene this location is. Perfect for just hanging in the yard or the lake and close to many attractions.

Perfect honeymoon

My husband and I wanted a secluded relaxing spot to have our honeymoon and this was perfect. Our own little strip of beach and the perfect backyard for campfires.

Lake Superior Getaway

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this vacation rental. The owners and property manager are very easy to contact. The house was spotless and had everything one would need for a comfortable stay. The location on Lake Superior is spectacular. We would love to stay here again!

Our family loved everything about this stay. The owner is very responsive and ensured we had a great family getaway. The location of the property is perfect. Quick drive to many activities and also right on a nice private beach. We'll be back!

Cabin on the St. Mary's River

This is a nice small house with access to the water and a rocky beach but within a short drive of great sand beaches. It is well equipped and supplied with tons of thick white towels. A few extras could make it even better. Bedside lamps and luggage racks in two of the bedrooms that don't have them. More towel racks in the bathroom. There isn't much that can be done about the living room facing the road instead of the lake but if the weather is good there is plenty of outdoor seating. I have stayed here twice and would come back again.

Fun family get away

Our family loved our stay here. There is a nice sandy beach with cool rocks and a sandy path in the water out to a big rock that the kids enjoyed.We also enjoyed riding the waves. I would recommend bringing water shoes, the rocks can be slippery. There are a few nice hiking trails a short drive away. We went to Sault Ste. Marie a couple times for groceries, ice cream, and to tour the Valley Camp otherwise we enjoyed staying at the property. The house and property are very well cared for and had everything we needed. We would definitely go back!

Highly Recommend

House was stocked with everything you need except the groceries. Great view and beach area. Bring your water shoes as there are are rocky areas in the water. WiFi was greatly appreciated since I needed to work a little during our stay. Air conditioning easily took the edge off the warmer days. Loved the swing and fire pit down by the water. Given the proximity to the Soo Locks and provided binoculars It was interesting to watch the freighters pass by. Great place to unwind.

Lakeside Gem

This was our family's first visit to Michigan's Upper Peninsula, and we could not have picked a better home to stay in! The house was clean, stocked with everything we needed, and the location was spectacular! We spent hours sitting by Lake Superior enjoying the fabulous views of the water and the freighters. We had several fires in the fire pit and enjoyed reading and relaxing on the swings. Although it was too cold for swimming, the sand beach was perfect for a little wading. The house was close to lighthouses, waterfalls, fishing spots, and hiking trails. We had one minor maintenance issue, and the manager responded quickly and professionally. We all hope to return to this home again in the future!

One of the better rental properties along Lakeshore Dr.

We have stayed in several properties along this stretch of road and this was one of the best. We liked that the bedrooms were on the first floor and that there was a lake view from the cottage and only a few steps down to the beach. Lots of towels, tp, dishes, and other amenities. Only negatives were that the water in the lake is currently so high there was only a few feet of beach to walk on. They also needed more lamps and a bedside table in one bedroom. Also hooks or towel bars in the bathroom would improve it. And while there were two remotes for the Dish we could not find one for the TV itself so we could change the output source and hook it to the iPad. It will stay on my list for possible rentals in the future.

Great stay overall

The house was clean and it came with some basics which we appreciated. We also appreciated the horse shoes, bean bag game and a few board games. The view was beautiful. The backyard was huge which the kids appreciated to be able to play catch. This isn’t really a place to do a lot of swimming. We did read another comment about wearing water shoes. Which I wish we would have brought. The only real complaint is that the beds could use some updating. The one queen bed was super squeaky and felt the frame could break. Also the top rail on the bunk bed could be looked at. But these things are super minor and wouldn’t stop us from coming again. The location was perfect for all the things we wanted to do in the UP.

Beautiful views, & great location!

Hard to find a place in this area where you don't see or hear neighbors but this is it! Woods on both sides, great view of Lake Superior and Canada. Freighters going by and all lit up at night. Clise to the Soo and not too far from Tahquamanon Falls and Whitefish Point. Nicely decorated home. Very clean. Comfortable beds. Nice big charcoal grill. Some indoor games and outdoor games like Cornhole and horseshoes. Floaties for the lake. The lake is shallow here and rocky with some sandy spots. Really enjoyed floating around on our raft. Nearby Wild Bluffs golf course is amazing! Best course we've ever played with awesome views of Lake Superior Stock up on groceries and supplies before arrival. There is a small, overpriced store nearby but other than that, the Soo is the closest place for groceries. But there are lots of cool things to do in the Soo! We really enjoyed our stay!

Fantastic!!

We absolutely loved our time here. The backyard view was SUPERB! Before checking in, we had an issue the owner graciously helped us sort out. The property was easy to find and check in was flawless. Upon walking in, the house was found SPOTLESS and smelled like fresh laundry-I should've paid more attention to which fabric softener they use! There was amble kitchen storage and counter space for food prep. The bathroom was stocked with hand soap, toilet paper, and soft, fluffy towels for the shower and ones for beach use. If I had to pick some negatives, it would be that the dining room could use more light. We had trouble seeing well enough to play cards there at night. Also, it would be nice if all of the bedrooms had mirrors since there is only one bathroom. We did see on another review that said not all the beds had side tables; so, we brought a little one from home and that problem was solved. None of these little things would stop us from coming back again. We loved the view from the back deck and made good use of the swings-especially the one near the beach. We took BEAUTIFUL pictures of sunrise and sunset from the backyard! We also enjoyed walking on the sandy beach looking at rocks. Nearly every morning there was a freighter off in the distance on the lake which was fun to see. Just can't put into words how BREATHTAKING it was! I don't know how this home doesn't have 100s of views. It is one of the best VRBO's we have stayed in and we'll 100% return!

Perfect week on Lake Superior

Our family of 5 stayed at the cottage in Brimley for 5 days in August. The cottage was very nice. Just like it is described. Very clean & well stocked. Our GPS took us to the neighbors house, but the cottage was easy to find & clearly marked, just pay attention to house numbers when you arrive. The home owners were very lovely to work with. The yard & beach front are lovely. The water wasn't freezing the week we were there so our kids spent a ton of time searching for rocks in the water & kayaking. We had a perfectly clear night to sit out & watch the Perseid meteor shower by the fire. While sitting out a fox (my kids have named Timber) meandered thru the yard. It was so quiet & peaceful. This cottage is about a 25-30 minute drive from Sault St Marie where they have a new Meijer. It took us 30 minutes to get to Whitefish Point, 1 hour to Tahquamenon & 2 hours to Munising. The Iroquois lighthouse is 5 minutes from the cottage. They have a nice walkway, a small museum & you can climb the lighthouse for free. We would gladly stay at the Brimley cottage again!

The perfect location for our young family's first UP vacation

Location is ideal with this rental. Each day, we ventured somewhere new & different. Tahquamenon. Whitefish Pt. Oswald's in Newberry. Pictured Rocks in Munising. St. Ignace & Mackinaw. Sault Ste. Marie & the Soo Locks. None of these were too far away. Oh, and a 24-hr Meijer is close by. We did go there, although never truly needed to--just knowing it was there somehow made us feel like we'd never be stuck without something. The comforts of home, I suppose? Anyway... I digress. Continuing on: a stone's throw from this rental we found much pleasure in visiting the Dancing Crane Coffee House, Wilcox Fish Restaurant, Point Iroquois Lighthouse, and a few other simple stops that further improved our weeklong UP experience. Such a great location. At the home itself, our young daughters took many turns in the swing, and regularly wandered out into the water to sit atop the "mermaid rock"--as they dubbed it--that can be seen in some of the listing's pictures. The water was beautiful, with freighters passing constantly off in the distance, and then Canada just beyond. Very pleasant. Very private. Serene. We had a few fires at the beach. We fascinated at some of the beautiful rocks--the beach is sandy with some rocky patches. One evening, we even had the pleasure of watching a young porcupine and its mother saunter up the large birch tree that leans over the home's driveway. So what drove us to rate it a 4 vs. a 5? Not much, really. As advertised, it was clean. While I did not, my wife did sense some sort of minor water issue perhaps going on around the bathroom & the room w/ the bunk bed. Nothing major and as I said, I could not detect anything myself. We fended off a few earwigs each day that would mysteriously appear in the bathroom. No cause for panic; we just wished we didn't have to encounter them. We couldn't find a cutting board. Okay, I agree that is super nitpicky. Still, a 5-star would have one--maybe we just couldn't find it? To counter that, I suppose I should admit how grateful I was for the high-powered binoculars that the home supplied. I admired those freighters with them daily. Lastly, I had to call the owner to get the key lock code upon arrival. Not ideal. This code was nowhere to be found in my emails or in the VRBO app's arrival instructions. All-in-all, a very good home for our needs & expectations. Simple. Clean. Well-priced. Private. Peaceful. Excellent location. Thank you to the owners and the manager for providing it to us.
