Lovely quiet location, close to surf beach and nature walks. We enjoyed a lovely weekend away with family who admired the architectural details of the home.

A wonderful stay

We loved staying at this property with friends celebrating a significant birthday. The tranquility was very special, as were the birds. It was a shame to leave.

A wonderful place to stay

We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful house. Serene, sunlit, and very special. We felt very grateful that the hosts share this, one of Australia's most architecturally important houses, with people to experience at first hand. Exploring the beautiful south coast was an additional highlight of the trip.

The perfect stay for a group

Our group of 10 friends were lucky enough to indulge in 3 nights’ stay at the Magney House. We wouldn’t want any less time to enjoy the house and explore the property and surrounds. The local Bingie Point has some remarkable rock formations and well worth the short walk. Highly recommend for a group of friends looking for an architectural stay.

Stunning

The property is absolutely stunning. The building blend so beautifully into the landscape. The separate wings allowed us to share the same space but have complete privacy. Would highly recommend for a get away from the lights and the sounds of the city.

A beach house for all seasons...

Designed by Australian Architect, Glenn Murcutt & a Pritzker award winner in 2002, I feel privileged to be allowed access to this 40+ year Architectural Masterpiece. Designed to emulate the connection to nature of the camping experience with all the necessary conveniences "wrapped" in the optimal passive solar thermal "envelope". It is simply the best imaginable beach house for all seasons.

Fantastic stay at an iconic architectural masterpiece. My partner is an architect and this was a dream of his. Paul communicated very helpfully and comprehensively. The site is stunning, very close to the beaches. We saw tons of beautiful wildlife, including many Kangaroos. The house is well loved and has the feeling of a family home that’s been opened up (which is is). Fast WiFi, good cooking facilities. I might suggest bringing bottled water, but the onsite water was fine to use. More of a taste thing. Don’t hesitate, take advantage of the opportunity to experience this house and sit.

Family Xmas at bingie priceless

We have enjoyed bingie holidays for many years but the young boys (grandkids) xperiencing it for first time was priceless. A great holiday.

Bountiful Dreaming

Stunning location. Beautiful views to wake up to. Abundant wildlife. Unique house, very comfortable bedrooms and communal living spaces. Very well equipped kitchen. I wish I’d booked a longer stay.

Short but sweet.

Our stay at this beautiful home was unfortunately cut short by the bushfires and we had to evacuate 4 days into our 2 week stay. It was heartbreaking to leave. The only suggestion I can make for improvement was that the compendium needs more information - like about garbage collection, how to best access the beach and how to turn on the oven (which was strangely very complicated). Our dog Max particularly enjoyed his stay - especially chasing the kangaroos.

A relaxed stay in an iconic house

We had a perfect weekend for my husband's 50th with a few friends. This house is architecturally impressive but also relaxing and welcoming. It was comfortable for six adults and would have also accommodated four children/teens easily, with a seperate living area and kitchen. The main kitchen is very well appointed; we spent most of the time cooking! I highly recommend Magney House as a special getaway.

Wonderful location.

We had a great time renting this property for my mothers 70th birthday. Ten of us were able to stay here comfortably and even though it was cool weather the house is remarkably warm. The view and surroundings are incredible, as is the architecture of the property. The downfall being (no fault to the owner) that every individual who stayed, bar one, got bitten by ticks. Children and adults found at least 4 ticks on every one of us which was a little distressing but otherwise a wonderful weekend was had. Thank you.

Excellent location, interesting architecture. Proximity to beach, bush, wildlife and walks. Very small bathrooms with minimal amenities. Poor acoustic privacy.

Magney-ficent architecture, setting and silence

What a privilege to experience such an architectural gem, like staying inside a sculpture. In different moods and weather we could open it all out by sliding away the glass panels or shut it down to a cosy space by the fire in the evening. Plenty of room for a large group, including two sitting rooms and an outdoor eating area, so very flexible. The Bingie walking track is beautiful and easy, we caught fish and surfed and loved the morning and dusk visits by a mob of roos. Otherwise the silence meant really peaceful sleep (in v comfy beds). A special place in every way.
