Wow! This house is absolutely beautiful and sits right on Lake Superior. It gave us that authentic "up north" cabin experience while keeping us completely comfortable and feeling right at home. The property owners were incredibly kind and helpful, and the neighbors were wonderful too. Whether you want to head out for day trips around the Keweenaw Peninsula or just stay put and enjoy the cabin, this spot is absolutely perfect.

Okay, house was accurately described. A few things not mentioned though. The 2nd refrigerator was not working. Didn't mention that have to climb stairs to get to main floor living area. The upstairs bedroom doors wouldn't shut, had to wedge cloth in door to keep doors from slamming in the wind. That said I still enjoyed the trip and the kitchen is very big, nice.

The second refrigererator was working great you have to plug it in to work. The bedroom doors I took the mechinism off as people were locking the doors mostley kids and then having to call me which I would have to call my house keeper and pay her to come over even if it was 2 am in the morning. so I put door stoppers by each door to be used to keep the doors open or closed. Absolutely best Sunsets on Lake Superior

This home is just an amazing place to stay. The location is a secret hideaway, with the best sand beach, sunsets and easy access to everything. The home is large; the beds are so comfortable. The home has everything you need to just show up with groceries and have a wonderful vacation. This home has to be one of the best on Lake Superior for Sunsets and relaxation. Mark is easy to communicate with and replies very fast. Don't hesitate to book your stay, you won't regret it!

The property, location and work with hosts was excellent. Some of the "goods" had to do with cleanliness that needed to be addressed but us (i.e. the gas grill, some items in the kitchen). Also some of the table games (ie air hockey, hockey) were missing pucks etc or did not seem to be there functioning. Didn't bother me as much as kids

This is a beautiful home in an amazing location if you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of life! We explored mines, multiple beaches, and multiple waterfalls, tasted delicious pasties and jams, and discovered birds and rocks that we had not seen before - mostly within 25 minutes of this home. The hosts were very responsive to questions or concerns during our trip. The house is decorated with many beautiful and unique items that are only in the UP. If you get "stuck" inside for a day due to weather, you won't get bored. There are books, puzzles, board games, and more to keep you busy. We did utilize the kitchen for most meals and there are plenty of plates, bowls, mugs, glasses, utensils, etc. for more than the two of us. The dishwasher works well to help clean up. The washer and dryer also work well, and I appreciated that the soap and dryer sheets were not strongly scented. We stayed for a week, and we could have stayed longer!

The Sunset House was perfect!

From the moment you exit your vehicle at The Sunset House you hear the waves of Lake Superior and immediately head around the house to see the unbelievable view. There is Superior’s shore barely 100’ away. The house is great. It’s what you envision a classic Keweenaw lake shore beach house to be. The patio is spacious and the old Adirondack chairs make for a superb morning coffee perch to read a bit and listen to the lake. The fire pit was stocked with some incredibly dry wood that produced roaring campfires each night about 20’ feet from the water. Perfection. The Sunset House is quiet and peaceful both day and night. The Fitz is two minutes away in Eagle River for a night out. You’ll love it. We did. Jon and Rachel E.

Ideal beachfront!

We stayed for a week in mid-July, and were very pleased with this property. I cannot say enough about how amazing the pristine Great Sand Bay beach is! Swam almost everyday and made a little fire with s’mores. Sunsets were beautiful! The house had everything we needed, and the decor was really cute. The Eagle River location is great whether you head back south to Houghton/Hancock, or want to spend some time up in Copper Harbor. I can also see this being a perfect rental for a snowmobiling trip with the game room downstairs for entertainment on a winter night after adventuring in the snow.
