Our 2 Bedroom (Lakeside), knotty pine paneled cabin, sits so close to the water that you can hear the waves hitting the beach. Read a book in front of a crackling fire. Sit on the porch, or on the dock and watch sailboats glide by. Watch the water birds fish and hear loons call across the bay. Walk the beach. Relax and do what you like, it is all here on the Island!

Enjoy a scenic, relaxing drive to the Bayfield Peninsula and the Apostle Islands National Park. Just 220 miles from the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, 1.5 hours drive from Duluth International Airport.

Madeline Island is located 9.3 miles by ferry boat, off Wisconsin's north most point; the Bayfield Peninsula.

Peaceful

The location to the lake can’t be beat. The waves crashing. My entire stay was an east wind constant waves. I saw the northern lights on my first night and an eclipse the next night. I’ll rent this one again and again.

Best place ever

I have been going to Madeline Island for 10 years now and this is by far the best place I’ve ever stayed very clean perfect location. We had a blast looking for glass on the beach! We felt like 8 year olds!

July 4th Weekend

We enjoyed our stay. It was perfect for weekend. Very nice beach area. Would recommend and stay here again if we choose to come back to Madeline Island.

Wonderful lakeside get away

The hosts were readily available and super friendly. The location was great, right on the lake, beautiful view. It was clean and had all the essentials.

Cute, cozy, comfortable cottage.

The cottage was exactly how we expected it. We Loved it! It was clean private and right on its own lakefront. The hosts were also very nice and helpful!

Idyllic location right on the water with private beach. Spotlessly clean modern cabin!

This cottage exceeded expectations! Located on the shores of Lake Superior, the cottage has a wonderful screen porch which overlooks the property's private sand beach and dock. The cottage itself was very clean with modern amenities and pleasing decor!

Idyllic getaway; wanted to stay forever!

A quiet little (comfortable) gem, right on the shore of Lake Superior.

This small house was perfect for my son and I. Quiet and right on the water. Nice steps to sandy beach. There is no TV (a good thing). It's right off the road, BUT there was maybe a car passing every few hours. Madeline IS is like going back a few decades. Calmer, no one is in a rush, except some who are just getting off the ferry. The owner live across the street. He checked on us on our arrival and the morning we were leaving. That was nice.

Cabin at Big Bay

Jim was very considerate and took care of the small issues we had as well as making good recommendations. The cabin is a perfect size for 2-4 vacationers with beautiful access to the Lake and a short bike ride/drive to Town Park or Big Bay State Park for unforgetable beach walks and, yes, even swimming. We kayaked, hikes, biked, and even made the short trip via ferry on foot to dine and shop in Bayfield.

Lovely Beachside Cottage!

The cottage was well equipped with thoughtful details, great maintenance, and very clean. It was appropriately cozy and feels very spacious with the vaulted ceiling. We loved the wood-burning fireplace, the porch with 180 degree views, the amazing dock, and the cabin's proximity to the water. Absolutely perfect for us! Enjoyed our weekend at the lake celebrating our 25th anniversary!

Exceptionally clean and comfortable

We couldn't have asked for a better lodging experience. The property is so close to Lake Superior that you can hear the waves each night from the bedrooms. The entire property was clean, well maintained, and was close to recreational activities including big Bay Town Park and Big Bay State Park. Plenty of beach to swim and lounge. The owner was responsive to all of our questions leading up to our trip and throughout our stay. We had a terrific experience and highly recommend without any hesitation.

Superior Paradise

First time on the island for me and my grandma to celebrate her 90th birthday. Bayside, and the island, both delivered! Cabin was cozy, but still had everything we needed for a memorable vacation. Although my grandma was physically unable to take the stairs down to the beach, she was still able to enjoy the beautiful location thanks to all the lakeside windows! She didn’t want to leave when our trip was over. Thank you Bayside for fantastic experience.

Our place

Yes, we know someone else owns it, but coming back for a third time, we refer to this gem as our place. It feels like home to us now. Never a single problem and every day, the view is magnificent in all its moods. Peaceful, clean, well organized, comfortable beds where you can hear the water as you fall asleep. A little piece of heaven. So glad to look forward to returning again.

Beyond Amazing!

We were excited to stay at this property because it looked very nice online, great location, etc. It easily exceeded our expectations! Spotless! So clean and well stocked with everything you need to be comfortable. So many amazing place to relax....the fireplace, the enclosed porch, the dock.... We will be back!! Spotless

The house was the cleanest lake house I have ever seen! And the view of the sunrise in the morning took my breath away. We had a fabulous time even though it was off season and a lot of stores and restaurants were closed. I never communicated with the owners before or during our stay, but there was no need to as the house had everything we needed and wanted. It's not fancy, but it's clean and comfortable. Can't wait to come back next year.

A slice of heaven

My husband & I had a wonderful time. The cottage is just what we needed. So quaint, peaceful, private, and well equipped. We enjoyed biking, kayaking, hanging on the dock soaking up the sun. We have not slept that well in years. The sound of the water, fresh air, peaceful surroundings. We hope to return again! Owners are very easy to communicate with. I can’t say enough to describe the complete breathtaking awesomeness of our time there. Thank you for sharing your place with us!!

Lovey Little beach house

I’ve been staying at Bayside for over 30 years and love every minute of my time in this sunny beach front cottage. Jim and Renee are hands on hosts and will make sure you are accommodated. I love the no TV and time to unwind, the WiFi work great! My daughter noose Madeline Island as her destination wedding June 14-15 and to be able to stay here while I managed a wedding at another home on North Shore Drive was perfect. I was thrilled to see the monarch migration in full tilt, the roads side blue with lupine and for-get-me-nots and that magnificent lake showing her beauty.
