Acerca del anfitrión
Anfitrión: Lynn S Auerbach
Lynn S. Auerbach, Founder and Co-Director, has spent her career working with diverse populations, helping to empower individuals to develop their abilities in order to improve their own lives. Lynn’s life-long dream to live in Africa became a reality in 2004.
Lynn: I have a Ph.D in clinical psychology and specialized in violence and abuse in families. In Massachusetts and Uganda I taught college level courses. I owned and directed the business IMPACT that taught violence prevention skills and started an IMPACT program in South Africa. With all that I have done in my career I carried a desire to live and work in Africa. Now I live half the year in the village of Kyalliwajala and the other half in Boston, Massachusetts. The communities and families accept and value my work. We are working hand in hand to create new possibilities in their everyday lives and for their futures.
Founded as a non-profit in 2005, Connect Africa is a grass roots organization that helps villagers in Uganda who are struggling to support children orphaned by AIDS. Our mission is to strengthen families by providing educational sponsorship to orphans and business loans to the guardians of orphans.

Por qué eligió esta propiedad
In 2012, we built a Guest House on the Connect Africa Community Campus. The Guest House is a place for volunteers and visitors to stay and the proceeds from it directly support our programs. It is a Bed and Breakfast with three bedrooms; two baths; an efficiency kitchen stocked with Ugandan snacks, fresh fruit, and bottled water; a sitting room with books about Africa; a dining room; and two verandahs.
A woman sponsored by Connect Africa in a course on catering prepares Ugandan meals for guests. A security guard lives on the premises. Charles, Lynn, and the guest house staff are available for all your needs, starting with your arrival at the airport.

Qué distingue a esta propiedad
Every morning, you will awaken to different activities happening around you: children playing on the swings and seesaw, women sitting in the meeting structure knitting and making native crafts, or women baking bread. We encourage you to visit with our families, stroll through the area, and engage with people who are very excited to say hello. By speaking English with them you are enriching their day.
