Patrick and Dianne are very attentive and helpful hosts - arranging well-priced, friendly and efficient transport from and to the airport, being at the property to meet and farewell us (including rapidly unloading and loading heavy suitcases in an ancient street with a steady flow of traffic but no-where to park). They took the luggage up to the apartment and showed us all the features of the property. They remained immediately available by WhatsApp contact for our entire stay. The apartments (there are 3 whole-floor apartments) are within a couple of minutes walk from highlights such as St John's Co-Cathedral, Upper Barrakka Gardens (with the daily canon firings), the public bus station (where there are very regular, efficient, air-conditioned, easy to follow and cheap services to all of the Island - we didn't need a car). We were concerned about possible myriads of steps and slopes, but the apartment is well positioned, so that shopping and close-by tourist attractions involve relatively few steps. The beds in the apartment are comfortable, and the area is surprisingly quiet at night (although the Cathedral clock chimes every 15 minutes - you soon become used to the charm of it).It was hot in Valletta, so the convenience of a washing machine and a cool home to return to were features we appreciated. It was wonderful to be right in the heart of Valetta, but yet in our own historic building - a quiet Oasis - with comfort, self-catering, and roof-garden harbour views.
