Dear Kim, Glad to hear that you enjoyed Sandy cove - it is perfect for large family groups to stay together. In regards to the bites and rash that you reported after your stay, we advised that we would immediately have a full and thorough investigation completed by a qualified pest inspector to ensure that there was nothing sinister in the house and there was no evidence of any other insect inside the house or in the bedrooms that could have caused any bites or rash. No other guests have reported any bites or rashes that have stayed at this property. The only other insect that could have caused bites is either a mosquito or midgie. Midgies are prevalent on the Gold Coast from time to time and come out at dusk. They are very small and can hardly be seen but do cause a nasty bite/rash especially on those that have not been exposed to them before. We strongly advise guests to wear mosquito repellent when outside at dusk. We hope you attended the doctor as we suggested so that they could identify what it was that was causing the rash. We sincerely hope that you are now well and we would love to have you come and stay with us again.
