Our cozy, renovated 1890s house called "Unique," is located in Italian Village, just two blocks from High Street and entertainment in the Short North.
Pets are not permitted in this home. Please reach out to us if you need a pet-friendly location or are bringing a service animal.
One parking space at rear of home; Additional Street Parking is $5 per vehicle/day & will be added after the reservation is made.
Note the home is near a busy intersection; noise machines provided just in case.
We are available to guests by email, phone, or text. We know our neighborhood very well (!) and care about our community- let us know when you need something or have questions!
The Short North Arts District is one of the Midwest’s best kept secrets. There is a huge variety of unique shops, bars and restaurants, and art galleries along High Street and a number of annual events that take place year-round. We have a thorough list of recommendations in the house to local bakeries, cafes, and restaurants.
You will have access to the entire home and fenced back patio.
The first floor of this home is open and comfortable. There is a super cozy living room, dining table, and the kitchen has an island with counter stools. The smart TV, sans cable service, is set up for your personal streaming accounts. The kitchen is supplied with every tool and small appliance you need to prepare a decent meal, along with some cooking staples such as olive oil, salt, and pepper. We also have a coffee machine with Folgers coffee, teas, creamer, and sugar. The first floor also has a half bath and a bedroom with a queen bed.
The second floor of the home is where you will find the 3 remaining bedrooms, each with a queen bed, and 2 full bathrooms. There is a primary bedroom with its own bathroom, walk-in double shower, and dual closets. The second bathroom on this floor is a jack-and-jill bathroom with a shower bath between the other two bedrooms. There is also a laundry closet on the second floor with a washer and dryer.
The house has a private back patio with plenty of seating and a charcoal grill, making it perfect for cooking out.
In summary, this home sleeps up to 8 guests:

1st Floor - Half bath in the hallway
2nd Floor - Primary bedroom, queen bed and full bathroom with walk-in shower
2nd Floor - 2 bedrooms, each with 1 queen bed, connected by a full bathroom with a shower bath

There is a ton to do on High Street and the up-and-coming N. 4th Street. It's super easy to get around using any GPS mapping.
Local Tip: Columbus meter maids love to give tickets- read the parking street signs in the downtown area and on neighborhood streets!

There is an additional guest fee per person/night for the 4th guest and up. The guest fee will be calculated on the quote breakdown when entering the correct guest count into the reservation or inquiry. Only registered, paying overnight guests are permitted at the residence. The guest fees allow us to offer the home at cost effective prices to small and large groups (example- a home can sleep 10+ guests but a lower rate allows 2-4 guests to rent it as well).). Please ensure you have the correct guest count and make any changes before the start of your reservation. Refunds for additional guest fees are under the host’s discretion.
Only registered, paying overnight guests are permitted at the residence.
We observe quiet hours from 9PM to 9AM. There is a noise monitor in this home to help keep noise to acceptable levels. This measures sound decibels only, no recordings or anything of that nature. If there is a noise issue, please feel free to contact us and vice versa, we will contact you.
We provide starter quantities of essentials like toilet paper, paper towels, dish pods, and laundry pods (typically 2 of each) to help you get started. We also supply shampoo, conditioner, and body wash for your convenience, along with coffee, creamer etc.
For longer stays or if you need more during your visit, we kindly ask that you pick up any additional supplies you may need. This helps us keep our rentals affordable and eco-friendly for all guests. Thank you for understanding.
There is no handicap access. There are steps to enter the front and back doors of the house.
Guests with allergies and related medical issues and/or sensitivities- we cannot 100% guarantee that the vacation rental is free of pet dander, cigarette smoke, air fresheners/cleaning product scents, or any other elements that may trigger a medical problem or sensitivity.
House guests have parking for 1 vehicle behind the house. Parking is on the concrete pad in front of the garage. On-street parking passes are available for $5/day.
$129.00 non-refundable Damage Waiver fee is REQUIRED for all reservations. Damage waiver covers up to $1,500.00 of accidental damage. Damages deemed intentional or by negligence will not be covered by the damage waiver and will be the sole responsibility of the guest. If Ozone machines are needed due to strong odors of any sort, a $500.00 fee will be incurred by the guest.
For your safety and protection of the home, there are exterior cameras located on the front and rear of the home. There are no interior cameras.

We bought this fixer upper in 2011 and completely renovated the house to the studs. This pre-1890s house is completely new on the inside. Sadly, the only original features of the home that remain are the pine wood floors and fireplaces. Most features of the home were gone before they purchased the home. On the positive side, you enjoy a relatively new home on the inside of a historic one!
