A dream stay! So quiet and private, with excellent hosts who were there if and when we needed them. Pool was particularly inviting. Kitchen well stocked, but the hosts leant us anything extra we needed. A really excellent stay and we are keen to return!

Great place to spend your holiday

Great place and very friendly hosts who did everything they could for a relaxed and great holiday. The house and pool are fantastic and also the surroundings. Villeneuve d’Avignon is very nice and maybe even beter for dinner than Avignon. We definitely recommend to spend at least a week in this house.

Great jumping-off point for Provence

Two families - 4 adults and two 3 year olds - found this house to be a great base for a week in Provence. Christine and Martin are excellent hosts; friendly and responsive. They even invited us over to the main house for wine together with their two sons. It was too cold to use the pool while we were there, but the cottage is great, and the location on Bartholesse island is also excellent.

Thank you very much for your nice appreciation. It was a pleasure to welcome you, your family and your friends and we are very happy you spent a good time in our house and in the aerea - even if the TGV strikes disturbed a lot your timing. We also appreciated the evening shared with you at home for the wine degustation and typical products - and your son and his friend were so cute ... Christine

Holiday with Family

Christine and Martin were excellent hosts and helpful advising on what to do and ensuring our stay was great - martin even set up a TV for Olympic opening ceremony. Well kept and very well equipped peaceful house in a rural location in the island close to Avignon. Having a car is ideal as walking/cycling in the heat to Avignon is not great. A nice pool was perfect for relaxing and cooling down. We really liked Villeneuve and enjoyed several of the restaurants in the which was beautiful and less crowded than Avignon. We really enjoyed our stay and wished we could have stayed longer as the area has so much to offer. We hope to return.

The only negative thing I can say is that at some point you have to pack your bags and go home , and you will feel very sad to leave this amazing place behind. We are a family of 5 and this was just the most perfect place for us. Beautifully designed , well thought out , everything you could need and a perfect host who was there when you needed her, but subtly out of sight. Despite the soaring heat, the property has a lot of shade thanks to a huge tree that sits right in the middle so gives the upper terrace lots of shade and the pool for part of the day . The pool is a good size and is well equipped with inflatables , loungers etcInside the house , the rooms for us were all just the right size . It felt light spacious and cool with lots of really nice touches .It’s also a great location . The island has a calm rural feeling , but its short drive to either Avignon central or Villeneuve. I’d say you really should hire a car. It’s also only a short drive to the tgv station.Perfect , perfect , perfect. Thanks For being such a good hoist Christine x

The property was as advertised, attractive and modern internally, clean, nice bathrooms, lovely large fridge / freezer and dishwasher, all very well equipped throughout including air coolers in bedrooms and a great location for visiting Villeneuve-lès-avignon & Avignon plus easy transfers for air and rail transport locations for our family members dropping in and out on their own travels. Christine was a great host, available immediately for any queries but there were very few as the rental is so well set up. The pool was lovely too. We had a perfect holiday.

Heel fijn huis, heerlijke plek

Merci beaucoup Christine ☺️

Schönes Haus in schöner Umgebung

Vielen Dank!

Charming House with great outdoor space

Characterful house in a quiet area but within a short drive (and free parking) of Avignon. Our hosts were very helpful and welcoming. Walking into Avignon was not really practical in the summer heat, but a lovely place to relax and enjoy a swim after exploring the surrounding area.
