Jekyll Beach - Terrapin Haven

Jekyll Island is state owned, and as such, development of the island is restricted to only 35% of the island creating a very quiet, laid-back atmosphere. If you want to 'get away from it all,' this is the place! The beaches are relatively undisturbed, and summer is a great time to see the huge sea turtles come onto the beach to lay their eggs.

This is a vacation rental that's large enough for the whole clan, yet comfortable for one or two, and it's located in the Jekyll Beach area. The home has lots of living areas, including a sunroom that's perfect for games and entertaining. The dining room table seats six, but if there are only two, just sit at the breakfast bar. Jekyll's newest wooden crossover to the beach is across the street. This house is on the west side of Beachview, and is approximately 100 yards from the beach. High tide limits beach access to ALL homes on this end of the island but "all day" beaches are just a 2 min. ride, with great parking, picnic tables and a ramp.

There is a minimum rental of 4 nights required.

Lovely vacation stay

We had a lovely 5 day vacation stay at this home on Jekyll. Perfect home base, great to have room to spread out. Only complaint is beds are dated and uncomfortable. We would stay here again.

Perfect home for vacation!

This was a great home for our family on vacation! It’s a beautiful house with a lot of room, and very reasonably priced! It was very well stocked. The location was great. The owner responded quickly to our questions.

Great stay!

Our group had a wonderful stay at this wonderful home! Nancy left very detailed directions on how to enter and how to locate the house. Perfectly located on the island just a street over from the beach. Clean, comfortable and cozy! I would highly recommend for families or groups.

We loved this house. Stayed for 2 weeks and really found it roomy, comfortable and well appointed. We've been going to Jekyll for 10 years and this is one of the better properties that we have stayed in. Look forward to being there next year!

Thanks for your kind review. We LOVE having return guests. We named our home "Terrapin Haven", as the Jekyll turtles always return to their original nesting site. We love doing the same and love when our guests do too.

Great Place to Stay

The house was even more spacious and well-appointed than expected, and we all appreciated it. We would be happy to recommend it. The knives and pans were not the greatest, but acceptable for a five-day stay.

Great location-Close to beach-Very quiet and perfect for the family!

We really enjoyed our recent visit to this rental house. We were very comfortable sleeping our family of 4 adults and toddler. It was great weather all weekend and the location was spectacular. We would definitely book again next time we are at Jekyll. Thanks!

Quiet getaway from life’s stresses

The property is located near beach access. The neighbors were quiet and we were visited by occasional wildlife. The property suited the needs of 3 adults perfectly. The owner was very responsive and friendly.

Great hiden gem

The house was larger than anticipated. Had plenty of places to sit and talk away from the tv. Bedrooms were a decent size and beds were comfortable. Great house!

Great place!

This place was great! So spacious and super close to the beach. Showers could use some updating since the older, low-pressure fixtures make it difficult to wash sand off. I really didn't have any other complaints and that one was minor compared to how great everything else was!

Thank you for your review. Feedback helps us with our "to do" list for projects when we "winter" in our home. We have owned for 7 years and have replaced the driveway, sunroom windows, exterior doors, stuccoed the sunroom's exterior, changed out some light fixtures & painted interior. So hoping by the time you return we will have updated bathroom fixtures. So happy you enjoyed your stay.

Jekyll Island is a true beach vacation as I remember in the 80's. Jekyll has avoided the busy growth of nearby St. Simons, and as a state park, allows a quiet vacation experience.

Love to walk on the quiet beach with lots of areas with no crowds. I enjoy seeing the sea turtles, and even have deer in the yard in the evenings.
