We thoroughly enjoyed our four-day getaway. The views were amazing, the house was comfortable, as was the bed, and the heaters were on when we arrived. When we had a problem with the water, Steve fixed it immediately as the pump had tripped out. The walk down to the river was enjoyable and lived up to Steve's description. We enjoyed seeing the different native birds on the property.

Amazing views, easy check in with good communication with host. Only thing during winter, better heating would be great as it has very high ceilings and was quite hard to warm the place in the evenings with the two small heaters provided, there were electric blankets on both beds however for bedtime warmth, summer would be no issue at all.

Steve is a great host.allowing us to be able to have our beloved cat with us in between moving homes was a blessing thankyou steve!. my partner and i were quite happy to lounge around, but there is plenty to explore,and the greatest view from the house itself, which was also clean and well presented and with every amenity you could possibly need, such a peaceful quiet place, a great place to get away from it all.

A peaceful and happy retreat

The property has wonderful views in all directions and lovely grounds. It is comfortable and well maintained with all the necessary facilities for a good stay.

Stunning views and all you need

Had a delightful stay at this place. It is a little off the beaten track so to speak, so for exploring there’s a little bit more to do but the surrounding area is breathtaking, the house is ideal for a small family of couple, everything you need. Such a great couple of nights here.

Tranquil getaway

We loved staying here. It is so peaceful. We felt refreshed and rejuvenated after our stay. A great place to unwind. The views are beautiful and the sunrise and sunsets were spectacular.

Great host happy to answer any questions and give advise on the area. Great location if you want to get away from it all but at the same time it's only 20-30 from whangarei or tutkaka

we loved this place, Steve was awesome to deal with, fishing off the Jetty was great, we will go back, highly recommend.

Functional and with a beautiful view. Could benefit from some maintenance and a deep clean. The dog smell is omnipresent. Might not bother you when you bring your own pets.

Noted Christo, I'm unclear on this review given you were here for 6 days and didnt mention anything. Deep cleaning occurs after every guests and if you look at the reviews for the past 3 years you will see that. If you'd been more forthcoming with where this deep cleaning would be needed we would have done so immediately. But without any positive or helpful feedback we are unable to understand what you mean. Very disappointing review and at a loss as to why you would have such concerns and not mention anything for 6 days

A hidden gem

This place is quiet, clean, and really well set out, comfortable. magnificent views, the best comfortable beds, and pillows, tank water is a plus . The host is available, and check in and out was a breeze. Many thanks Steve, hope we can return 1 day.

Amazing views

What a beautiful place to wake up! This is a perfect place to be off the grid and enjoy the outdoors. Cozy cabin with everything you need and Steve was very helpful and welcoming! Our two teens loved all the outdoor space.

My safe haven

Was such a tranquil private place The views are just beautiful Steve provided everything we could want. It was our home away from home. It was warm and so inviting Thank you steve we will most certainly come back

Art and ocean

The house is very comfortable with 2 good sized bedrooms and big living/dining areas. There are some beautiful pieces of art and an excellent book collection. The view is amazing and the property has some hidden gems. We were here for 3 nights and loved every minute. Host is great!

Kiwi bach with great views

We had a lovely stay in this peaceful bach. Great location between Whangārei and Tutakaka. Lovely views over the trees and over the water. Bach had everything we needed for a long weekend. Thank you for having us.
