Beautiful old house

We throughly enjoyed our stay and loved what you have done with the restoration. Beds were comfy it was clean and tidy and was vey close to everything. thankyou

Country town special

A lovely quiet house with trees at rear and rolling countryside to North. Lovely birdsong at end of day. Just great for easy stroll into town too. In summary, a lovely relaxing stay.

Home away from home

Many creature comforts, house was relaxing and welcoming. Felt very special to stay in this home. Our Furbabies felt very relaxed also. Great kitchen 😁 hope we can return again

Having lived in the area for over 20 years we were blessed to be able to stay in this little bit of Queensland history' The property has been beautifully restored to its former glory with modern additions.. A lovely time for reflection

Stay @ Childers

Thank you so much for our stay at your property. It was very "homey" and comfortable. We also had a 9 month old puppy and she was at home on the back porch. We talk her for a couple of walks and it is a very friendly neighbourhood. If we are ever in Childers again we will definitely be contacting you again.Thank you again for the hospitality.

Lovely long weekend in charming Childers

We really enjoyed our stay in this charming cottage in Childers - so many positives! It was in a great location for easy walking around the township, yet also maintained a country feel and outlook. Impeccably clean and charmingly decorated - loved some of the artwork in the cottage. Only minor negatives were that the kitchen whitegoods need a little love or refresh (but they still did the job) and the lack of screens meant many moths when the lights came on at night. Both back and front verandahs were well utilised throughout our stay - coffee out the front in the morning to watch the sunshine and birds, and drinks out the back in the evening for the sunsets. Would happily stay again if I'm ever back in Childers!

Work stopover

Property had enough space. Fans in all rooms to keep cool, one airconditioner just in lounge area.

Wonderful pet friendly accomodation

Clean and beautifully laid out. Local to all areas we wanted to visit. An advantage was that it was just across the road from the showgrounds where fur babys can go off leash. The owners were very easy to talk with. We highly recommend this property, had so much fun there. 5 star rating

The property is OK the drive way gate couldn't open without a struggle. Heaps of insects which could be seasonal however a can of insect spray would be appreciated

Childers Country Charm

Overall we loved our stay at this lovely renovated old Queenslander. As per previous reviewer I would agree that the heat was a bit of an issue as no air con and fan in the lounge did not work, even with opening the windows it was hot. Also no outside light at the back so difficult to see out the back. Overall and for the price it was fabulous, the host was always responsive and the house comfortable. It was our first time to Childers so lovely to stay in this town as a base for our getaway to explore more of Queensland.

Thanks for the review. There had been amor more changes since you're visit. We now have air conditioning in the house, of course the fan is fixed. A back deck ha been added with lights so the yard is lit up. We hope to see your again

Week long visit to Childers

The property is a charming Queenslander very close to town making it very convenient. It was clean, comfortable and the rooms were very nicely decorated giving it a lovely period feel. My only negative observation would be the lack of air conditioning. There were fans but the one in the lounge didn't work and the owner's recommendation on their welcome sheet said to open the windows to let the breeze through but that didn't work particularly well on very warm and humid days and nights - which every day and night was - and as there were no fly screens on many of the windows the mosquitoes were a real problem and I left with quite a few mozzie bites. Also you couldn't open the rear verandah doors as there is no rear deck as that part of the house is still under renovation. So my partner and I suffered considerably with the heat and humidity and mosquitoes - the only time it really cooled off at all was in the early hours of the morning.
