This is our home in Paradise and we ask that you treat it respectfully, as if it were your own.

AMENITIES GALORE. . .
* Home is a 3 bedroom, 1.5 bath.
-- Living room has 2 full-size futon sleeper sofa with air conditioning
-- 2 bedrooms have queen size memory foam mattress w/ gel topper with air conditioning
-- 1 room has twin bed with twin trundle (1 w/ memory foam, 1 regular) with air conditioning

* Air Conditioners in every room:
Cooling the home: We typically have trade winds, so it helps to have windows open on both sides of the rooms for a cross breeze. If this does not suffice for cooling the room, you are welcome to close the windows and put on the air-conditioners. We ask that these units be turned off when you leave the house for energy conservation reasons.

* Kitchen Pantry/Fridge:
Kitchen:
Open the cabinets and see all that is available! If it is there, you are welcome to use it! If something relevant is missing, please let us know and we will do our utmost to provide it for you in an expeditious manner!
The kitchen has stainless steel appliances, gas oven/stove range, microwave, rice cooker, coffee maker and toaster.

* TV/Internet/Printing Services:
In-Home Entertainment:
The home does have WiFi. The password will be provided to you upon arrival.
You are welcome to enjoy TV and/or log in to your own accounts to watch something else! (Remember to log out before leaving!)

Printing: If you need to print anything, we will connect you to our printer and deliver your papers to you! :)

* Gas BBQ:
We have a gas grill that you are welcome to use during your stay.
Please scrape the grill before and after use and ensure that you have turned off the propane tank after using it!

* Washer/Dryer:
Feel free to use the washer and dryer in the carport, if needed.
If you wish the host family to do your laundry during your stay, that can be arranged for a nominal fee.

* Pets: We allow pets under 20 pounds if they are non-aggressive and house-trained. There is a non-refundable pet fee ($300). Any damage (beyond cleaning) would be charged against the security fee.

* Island Guide Books:
We have placed some of our travel books on the book shelf for your use! ENJOY!

OTHER BASIC INFORMATION:
Parking:
You can park a car in the carport. If you need additional parking spaces, please park along the front of the home.

Please do NOT block neighbors' driveways or mailboxes. We are friends with our neighbors and wish that to continue! :)

The Aloha Way:
Leave your "slippahs" at the door (shoes, flip flops, . . .).
If your feet are sandy or dirty, please rinse them off with the hose by the front gate before entering the home. There is also a utility sink in the carport to rinse off gear, if needed. If anything is wet, please leave it on the side of the house to dry before bringing it in.

Towels:
Bath towels and hand towels are intended only for bathroom use.
Beach towels are provided for outdoor use.
Rags are provided for any other purposes.

Smoking:
NO smoking in the home or on the premises.
NO vaping.
NO drugs.
If you need to smoke, please walk down the street or to a designated area that allows smoking.

Peace and Quiet!
We get along well with all of our neighbors and wish to maintain that relationship for years to come!
We ask that the noise level be minimal between 9 PM and 8 AM out of respect for our neighbors.

We live on the back side of the rental (with our own entrance), and are available for any requests. We have become friends with many of our guests, and others have provided recommendations for places to visit, beaches, hikes, restaurants, and helping them get to know the area better. Our interaction is completely open to the comfort level of our guests.

Our home away from home!

Everything we needed and then some was provided. We loved coming home to the Herrmann Hale after a fun but long day outdoors enjoying Oahu. We highly recommend it.

Great host family putting your needs first,clean, spacious and great location

We enjoyed our stay. The home was all we hoped for: clean, spacious and great location. The kitchen is well stocked with anything you could think of. The home is the cleanest beach house we have ever rented. The location allowed for great hiking and day trips to any where on the island. The Herrmann family were great hosts. Kind, caring and accomadating. We have never felt so at home on vacation. We would recommend this property to anyone and have no doubt you will be impressed. Aloha until next time!

Great place in the best location.

We stayed at Sarah and David's for our 3 days in Kailua and it was an awesome experience for an extended family of 8. The kitchen was clean and there were more than enough beds to keep us comfortable. We knew we made the right decision to stay in Kailua instead of the crowded Waikiki. The Hermanns were super nice hosts to give us advice and were always willing to help. Thanks David for taking our family's picture, your new fence looks beautiful and I'm sure it will be amazing once it is completed. Sarah, thanks for welcoming us with open arms and making us feel like we were staying with friends. Hopefully we get to come back soon, and definitely staying in Kailua, where the most beautiful beaches are.

Wow

Fabulous property! The owners are incredibly kind and helpful. We did not have any issues while we were there, but I am sure if we had they would have been available immediately to help. We are a family with 7 kids and the house fit us well. The owners provided an air mattress and portable crib which was really helpful. They also have beach toys, coolers, beach towels, kids life vests and a really large washer and dryer. The house is near a small shopping area with groceries and some restaurants. The local beaches are nice too. Each room has a wall ac unit and there are two units in the living room - these worked really well the keep the home cool. We would not hesitate to stay here again!

If you want very warm hospitality like family

We met several hosts from various places through Airbnb, VRBO, etc, but no one was kind as Sarah and David. From the time we first arrived, we were greeted with a bright smile and a heart-filled letter. When asked, they answered very quickly and helped warmly. In Korean, there is the word 'Jeong'. It's hard to explain in a word, but it means a feeling of intimacy or loving emotion that arose as people spend a long time together. To Sarah and David who looked at us like a family, not a guest, we felt such a 'Jeong'. Thanks to them, we were so happy that four nights and three nights in Oahu seemed too short. Kailua, on the east side of Oahu Island, is about 30 minutes from Waikiki, Honolulu and about 50 minutes from PCC. It is recommended for travelers who want to get away from the complex and expensive Waikiki and enjoy the rest & relaxation. I would like to recommend it to families who want more than 110% satisfaction and a warm welcome. Give thanks and blessings to all family of Sarah and David.

THREE BEDROOM KAILUA HOME

Our family group (8 adults) enjoyed a very pleasant one week stay in this well stocked Kailua Home. Our hosts provided everything required for our stay, including beach towels and sand chairs. The home is conveniently located and close to Safeway Market, shopping, restaurants and the beaches of Kailua, Bellows AFB and Waimanalo. It is only about a 20 minute drive over the Pali Highway to Waikiki and about the same time via the H3 to the Aiea area of the Island (Aloha Bowl Swap Meet, Aiea Bowling Alley Restaurant, Pearl Harbor, etc.). We are currently spending our second week in a Waikiki Condo (which has it's own advantages), but we had way more room to stretch out and relax in Kailua. We really enjoyed the change of pace and relaxed vibe on this side of the Island. Our hosts live on the back side of the property and offered to help with anything we needed, but were not intrusive. The house has a carport that accommodated our two vehicles and there was additional street parking. The only thing that we would suggest is an air mattress or more level sleeping surface in the Living Room Area. The futon pull out was very uneven and uncomfortable according to my son & his girlfriend, who used it. The beds in the bedrooms were very comfortable. We would definitely consider renting this home again. We have been visiting the Islands every January for many years and this was one of the most convenient and comfortable accommodations we have experienced. Thank You!

Couldn't have asked for a better place!

We couldn't have asked for a better place! David and Sarah exceeded our expectations and we were pleasantly surprised by the additional amenities that weren't listed such as plastic plate/bowls/silverware for children, a bed rail to make sure our son didn't fall off of the bed, floaties to help my daughter feel safe in the ocean, multiple beach towels, etc. We were so happy with our stay and will definitely be staying here again the next time we travel to Hawaii! You won't be disappointed!

Excellent hosts, attention to detail, a lot of plus’s

Great stay in Kailua, away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. Close to our favorite beaches - Kailua (beautiful! And great for kayaking) and bellows (fun boogie boarding). The hosts live behind the property and were readily available to offer recommendations and what activity to plan for which day and give insider tips on hikes and beaches. They have a stocked kitchen to include a pantry with the basics to get you started before you grocery shop. My husband and I stayed there with our two boys and my parents - there was enough room so we all had our own space. Additional plus’s: We fought over use of the massage chair after hikes :) they had lots of beach gear for us to use - chairs, umbrella, snorkel gear, boogie boards, great perk! we also rented kayaks from them - great price and they helped deliver them to the beach. The hosts were also very accommodating with an early check in and late check out.

Relaxing Atmosphere & great getaway with the comforts of home!

We had a wonderful stay with Dave & Sarah's very quaint and lovely rental home. The use of all the beach items they supply was very generous and included. Rooms were clean and decorated nicely. We felt like it was our second home and appreciated all the wonderful information they provided. Dave was available answering our text messages right away. This was our second B&B we have stayed at and it was by far the best experience compared to our prior one. We had a great stay and would stay again if we are ever in the area.

Well stocked, home away from home great location

Aloha! The house is great for large family’s plenty of sleeping space. Cute private backyard. These owners thought of everything when it came to stocking the house, down to Keurig coffee pods to first aid kit, extra sheets and bedding! Plus off street parking. Super close and convenient to Kailuas beaches and town. Owners are very friendly and the house has a very warm aloha type vibe. You can tell this family put a lot of love and time making sure this is truly a home away from home. Perfect for family’s with kids. High chairs, pack and plays even the kid potty is included. I could also see young adults liking this place bc they had a lot of outdoor stuff for guests to use. Super super affordable even at regular price! Especially for Kailua this is the best priced 3 bedroom I found and let me tell you I searched high and low before booking. Great experience and will forsure book again when we come to visit our ohana on that island! Thank you David and family ❤️

Kailua Town Vacation

We’re no strangers to Hawaii, however, my family and I were long overdue to a change in scenery. We wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki, which is where we stayed last year. Funny, most of that trip was spent hanging out in Kailua. So we thought, why not search for a place in Kailua this year. We booked this property, well in advance. The price per night was well within our budget and the location was perfect. I did most of my communication with David, who is awesome. He was quick to respond to any questions my family and I had prior to booking. He was even nice enough to give me a “heads up” when another party was interested in the property during the same time as our vacation. Needless to say, it took no hesitation on our part to say that “We’re in!” when we really wanted the place. On the day of our arrival, David was so kind to allow us to arrive on property 45 minutes ahead of check-in time. Getting to the property was very easy too, and we beat traffic! That’s when we met the rest of his lovely family, Sarah & 2 cutie pie daughters and a furry 4-legged friend, Mac. (BTW, Mac stayed on David & Sarah’s side of the property. We’re dog owners as well, so we didn’t mind seeing/hearing him) David showed us around the property. There was plenty of fresh fruit awaiting us and a nice box of chocolates. The fridge and pantry were stocked with “the basics”, condiments, butter, canned veggies and pasta/sauce. We later did the rest of our grocery shopping at Foodland, which is not far away. The living room/bedrooms/bathrooms were all spotless and were stocked with the essentials, extra towels, iron, ironing board, extra blankets. Pretty much, you name it, they had it. They were even so kind to put out a pack-n-play yard/highchair/ and potty trainer for my 2yr old! God bless them for that! The highchair definitely came in handy. Also, never in my traveling years have I ever came home with luggage full of clean clothes upon return. I loved that they had a washer/dryer for our use. Such a time saver! Big pluses for that as well! If you don’t mind a little street noise (the road is a main artery to get to the beach) then this place is perfect for you! That is what we wanted, access to a beach. The town of Kaneohe isn’t far either as well as other places of interest, Byodo-In Temple, Ho’omaluhia Botanical Gardens, just to name a few. We would definitely return here on our next visit to Oahu!

Sehr nette Gastgeber, toller Strand in Kailua

Die Familie Herrmann hat uns (3 Erw. und 2 Teenager) sehr freundlich aufgenommen und war immer sehr aufmerksam. Die Wohnung war sehr schön und mit allem ausgerüstet was man braucht. Zusätzlich Strandtücher, boogie boards, tommy bahama strandstühle, fahrräder, kajaks, ... Ein toller Ausgangspunkt um Oahu zu erkunden und am Kailua beach zu entspannen. Vielen Dank an David und Sarah, wir hatten eine tolle Zeit!!! Fam. Hennings

Warm Aloha Welcoming

The property was beautiful (no surprise considering its Kailua). Sarah & David were so wonderful and welcoming. When we first arrived the home was ready for us (air was on to help with the lovely summer weather). Their family was so kind to wish us congratulations on our wedding. We forgot something of personal value and they were so kind and allowed us to pick it up (or try to deliver it to us) If I ever need another staycation, I will definitely try to see if this home is available!

My family and I enjoyed our stay very much

Our stay was very good and enjoyed the fact of being in a 3 bedroom home. It was a home away from home. We came from Nebraska to visit my roots. It was my family's first vacation together. We enjoyed ourselves very much but the stay in this rental was the best and David and Sarah made it very homey....thank you so much for everything!!!

Great home base for 5 adults

Our family of 5, including 3 young adult children, enjoyed this well appointed home; ready to step into and be lived in with welcoming message, goodies and the right kind of items to make it easy for us to head to the beach. There was room for all of us to have our own space after a busy day in an air conditioned home. We were greeted with welcoming smiles and warm hospitality. When some of our plans needed help Hermann's would offer great suggestions of things to try. We enjoyed the location and were able to take day trips in all directions on the island. This was our first time with vacation rentals and we would certainly try it again. When we had a kitchen mishap David and Sarah were able to help us out with it in a timely manner. Thank you so much for hosting us we certainly enjoyed our stay! Staying warm in Canada.

Excellent family friendly 3-bedroom with hospitable hosts

Our family of four enjoyed an 8-day stay at this vacation rental and we could not have asked for a better arrangement. We had a bedroom for each kid and 2 bathrooms. We used the washing machine and dryer as necessary and never lacked for room to stretch out. It was fantastic having a cooler to use for our day outings and it was fantastic to be able to return to a kitchen so that we did not need to eat out for most meals. The hosts are a wonderful family and helped with advice on beaches, activities, places to shop, and they are determined to make sure their guests are able to fully enjoy the stay. This part of O'ahu is very beautiful and we enjoyed the beaches here far better than the two days that we stayed in a hotel in Waikiki. We will definitely stay here next time we come to O'ahu. We felt like we were part of David and Sarah's family. It was fun for us to share stories of our outings with them on the evenings that we saw them. Comfortable and Welcoming!

Large space with Wonderful hosts

The "Herrmann Hale" is the perfect space for a large family looking for an affordable stay in one of the nicest neighborhoods on Oahu. The house is a typical, Hawaiian style, single-wall construction. David and Sarah are a wonderfully friendly, accommodating and gracious couple. The home is located about a 1/2 mile from a small shopping center, with a grocery store, and restaurants (and Starbucks :), and not that far from the beautiful beaches of Waimanalo, Kailua, and Lanikai - go to those beaches on a day when the tradewinds are calm and you won't be disappointed!

Perfect vacation home base

We loved our stay here. The home is well equipped with everything you need and if it isn't here and we asked Sarah or David about it they either bought it for the house or gave us one to borrow. The family are super nice and welcoming. We stayed here for my birthday week and were greeted with a birthday balloon, chocolates and a really nice welcoming message. We used the home as a base being able to easily explore the island in our rental car. The Kailua beach was a favourite spot not far from here and the whole foods market a great place to shop for supplies. The home is really great! We were not disappointed one bit and will stay again next time we are back on Oahu. Thank you for welcoming us into your home and making us feel comfortable.

Great rental in Kailua

Sarah and David were such a pleasure to communicate with during the booking process that I felt completely at ease trusting the listing/owners. We exchanged several messages, texts, and phone calls prior to our trip and during our stay. We were not lucky enough to meet them in person but they went out of their way to make us feel welcome from afar. Thanks so much for making this vacation rental so painless!!
