Great Host. If you require something super clean, then this is perhaps not for you. It’s rustic, however I would call it decently, clean and comfortable.

BOOK THIS PLACE! It’s amazing. The property is beautiful, the cabin is immaculately decorated, stocked, and maintained. It has everything you could need! Only a 20-30 min drive to places like Southampton or Port Elgin. I would live here forever in a heartbeat. Mark was lovely and easily reachable at all times! Beautiful place, I will be returning.

This was a peaceful and private location with a view of the river. Amazing sunrise view every morning from the kitchen table. Really enjoyed our stay. Mark was a great host.

Secluded cabin with great deck

Genuinely nice deck, well furnished. The cabin was very clean. The host was very attentive, and the facility was well stocked. WiFi was excellent.

Nice staying

The place is very nice, it is very cozy. The view from the cottage is amazing. Our pets were very happy to run all over the place. We just stay for a couple of days, but would be nice for a larger stay next time.

This was our 3rd year coming back to Riverview for a peaceful and relaxing stay. If you are looking for a quite and secluded place away from the noise, traffic and others, this is the place to be. The cottage is rustic but well equipped with everything you need for your stay, and acres of property to explore. The beautiful wrap around deck is perfect for just sitting back and relaxing on a sunny day. Mark is a fantastic host and keeps in touch to make sure you have found everything you need. On our first visit, we were hiking through the woods and had some questions, and he responded within minutes to help us out. We highly recommend staying at Riverview if you want to get away from everything and relax in nature.

Perfect winter getaway! Felt right at home as soon as we got there. The cottage is lovely and has everything you need. The property is peaceful and so gorgeous with the river as your background. We saw lots of wildlife, including a few awesome bald eagle sightings, and had a great time exploring the property. Spent the nights cozied up reading by the wood stove, it was perfection! Mark is an excellent host and we hope to be back soon!

The whole week was perfect. We loved our walks. The cabin was great. It had everything you would ever need for the week. Mark was a great host. We would love to rent it again.

We stayed here last year, and enjoyed the peace and quiet of the surrounding property so much, we came back again this year. The wrap around deck was fantastic for enjoying the day. Lots of movies and books to entertain you on a rainy day, and the cottage is rustic, but has everything you need. Mark is a fantastic host, keeping you updated on the area before your stay, and check in with you once you arrive to make sure you have everything you need. We will be back again next year for sure!

A peaceful place to explore

We enjoyed our short stay at Mark’s cabin. The property is vast and gorgeous. We had fun exploring with the kids and did day trips to the beaches in South Hampton and Sauble. The cabin has a beautiful deck with an amazing view. The book collection is impressive. I only had time to read a few short stories, but a reader with more down time would be in heaven.

Great secluded getaway. Would stay again

We had a great stay! The place is on a beautiful property. The cottage had everything we needed. We did some snowshoeing and exploring of the trails and saw tons of turkeys. Mark was great — super helpful and responsive. He was proactive before we arrived and made sure we understood how to access the property. If you’re looking for a quiet, secluded spot with gorgeous scenery, and are comfortable living with the basics I’d highly recommend this place.

Peace and Glorious Night Skies

An extremely peaceful and comfortable stay at a beautiful property with every ammenity to make your stay carefree. Mark has put a lot of love and work into making this a welcoming place, and it shows. The library has a wide and wonderful collection and the photo album is a beautiful touch. Perfect quiet getaway

We were looking for a quiet getaway to relax and enjoy the outdoors, and Riverview was the perfect place. We enjoyed hiking on the 85 acre property, with lots of little hidden gems to find. Afterwards, a relaxing time on the beautiful wrap-around deck and a barbecue. The location is secluded, but close enough to get to the beaches and other towns within 20 minutes. Mark was a fantastic host, checking with us throughout our stay to make sure we found everything we needed, and answered all of our questions within minutes. A fantastic place that we will need to visit again throughout the different seasons!

Heaven on the Hill

This cabin felt like home the moment we stepped in. The personal stories and touches make things feel that much more welcoming. The book collection and dvd collection is amazing. There are fun games, things to do, entertainment inside and out. The property is nothing short of stunning. The sunrise, the wildlife, the river and views all around. The trail system is so well laid out. So much to explore. Mark is fantastic and readily available with any questions or suggestions. We would highly recommend, and plan on booking again and again. It's a must see in every season! Thanks again, beyond grateful we found this place!

Rural property with all the amenities, close to Saugeen River, and nature outside of the door. The house was super, and Mark is a good communicator. The house is supplied with everything we needed (4 adults and one 3 year old and one dog). It was super comfortable and very roomy. The A/C and many fans work well to keep the home comfortable. We all had great sleeps. An unexpected bonus: Mark has a huge stash of books, conquerable to a library, I especially liked the array of SciFi books in one of the bedrooms.Note for paddlers: We used a local outfitter to supply a canoe, and two of us paddled the Saugeen DOWNSTREAM from Access Point 8, to Access Point 9. Note: the outfitter advised that going upstream was ok. There are multiple rapids between those two points requiring portage or walking canoe close to shore if you go upstream. This was not clear in any of their communications.

three time visitor here, absolutely incredible place to enjoy a weeks vacation. so quiet and peaceful with incredible views. Dog friendly, and plenty of property to walk about.Kind of place I wish I could live at.

The property is great and has been great every time we have gone. Host makes themselves available if need be and the place has been well loved and cared for. You can just tell. A lovely place to spend a few days.

Summer cottage vacation

Stayed here for a few days in the summer. Close drive (20min) to Port Elgin beach. Very quiet and secluded. Only thing is that it runs on well water and the well ran dry so we didn’t have any water for a few days.

I’m happy to report, the old well has been replaced with a new fancy drilled well. Softened water with a UV filter.
