Alfalfa is one of the three properties Crooked Mountain Cabins offers. Located on 40 acres of rolling meadows and forests, Crooked Mountain Cabins are an easy 20-minute drive from the Wasagaming townsite of Riding Mountain National Park. This lovely cabin is open from May - October and is perfect for groups up to 4. It offers peace and quiet in nature and is situated close to the forest's edge. It is perched on an elevated lookout with a lovely view of the property and wildflower meadow. Guests love the screened-in deck to enjoy the fresh air and views of the meadow and forest.

Alfalfa Cabin is fully-equipped and feels like a home away from home. You will wake up to birdsongs and can walk out your cabin door on a private, groomed trail which loops through the forest for a 2 km hike. The cabin offers a serene atmosphere for nature enthusiasts looking to enjoy the property’s beauty or visitors to Clear Lake Country looking for tranquility after a day in Wasagaming.

This cabin has a full kitchen including stove, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, and more. There is also a gas BBQ on the screened-in deck. Also supplied are blankets, towels (except beach), toilet paper, tissue, paper towels, dish soap, hand soap, saran, tinfoil, coffee filters, salt, pepper and sugar. The drinking water is excellent – no need to bring bottled water. All you need to bring is your own food and drink.

Crooked Mountain Cabins is home to many wildlife, fungi, and bird species, including the Great Grey Owl - making us a popular destination for birdwatchers, artists and photographers. Our guests enjoy hiking the private hiking trail, fishing in the nearby creek, biking on country roads, golfing in Clear Lake, photographing wildlife, writing, and painting.

Alfalfa Cabin provides guests with peaceful retreat in nature along with easy access to modern conveniences and all that Clear Lake Country has to offer. Nature enthusiasts can explore the on-site hiking trail or spot the various bird and animal species that call the forest home.

In Riding Mountain National Park, guests can hike, bike, boat, canoe, kayak, swim, fish, golf, picnic, and much more! The Wasagaming townsite features a lovely beach and will satisfy all of your shopping, dining, and entertainment needs.

We loved the peace and quiet of our stay at the cabin. It was a good place to clear your mind and enjoy the simplicity of life at this cozy retreat. We enjoyed the trail walk that is very well maintained.

Amazing time

The cabin was perfect for us everything we needed and the view from the porch was worth the trip by itself. We loved sitting out in the evening watching for wildlife. Olivia is a great host very helpful and kept us informed all along the way

Wedding

We stayed at the cabin to attend a friend’s wedding The cabin is as advertised and suited our purpose. It’s rustic and quiet, with no tv to interrupt the mood. Very impressed with the mattresses as they were comfortable. We enjoyed peaceful sleep.

Everything you need in a spectacular setting!

Wonderful rustic cabin with close proximity to Riding Mountain National Park. Clean with everything you'd need. Surrounding meadow and woods are spectacular to explore via groomed trails. I should have set up wifi calling before arriving, but eventually figured it out (needed to be in a service area to activate with Rogers). Access is via some gravel roads. Close to Erickson and Onanole.

We absolutely loved our stay in the Alfalfa cabin!

Last weekend a friend and I stayed at Crooked Mountain Cabins - we were in Alfalfa, and we absolutely loved it! It was so cute & so clean. We spent the majority of our time in the screened in room off of the front watching the stars, listening to the wildlife… we even got to witness a thunder and lightning show - what a performance. The property is lovely, I’m still thinking about the view, there are yard games to be played and trails to be explored. It was so quiet and so peaceful, the perfect place for a weekend getaway.

We spent wonderful days in a calm and beautiful environment. Deep sleeps, forest and wildlife around us in a nice cabin, it was just perfect for us.

A jewel

Off the beaten path the cabin is an absolute jewel. It is very small yet quaint and has all you can possibly need to make your stay pleasurable. The views are amazing. We saw and heard wildlife galore. Absolutely loved it and will definitely be back.

Perfect!

Everything about this location was perfect, just far enough away from Clear lake, but close enough for a quick trip. The hiking trail on the property was very nice and the scenery is beautiful! :)

My husband and I have been running Crooked Mountain Cabins since the summer of 2021, following our marriage in April of 2021. We took over from the previous owners, who had been running the business for 12 years.

We were initially drawn to the property’s peaceful setting and raw natural beauty. The spacious landscape will allow us to one day build a home on site, living close to nature and raising our children while hosting interesting people from all over the world.
