SUMMER/WINTER SKI RENTALS available: Large FAMILY Apartment (1bedroom+1cabine)

We are pleased you enjoyed the area, found lots to do, and, in particular, found the apartment comfortable and suited to your needs ... and the children enjoyed the swimming pool, which is a Godsend after a hard day's hiking! Maybe again, perhaps in the Winter, where St G offers so much for the Winter sports' enthusiast?

We are pleased you enjoyed the chalet and the area; as you say, it is an ideal base for the UTMB, as it passes through the town on its way round Mont Blanc ... in fact, the Tour de France has, in recent years, passed through the town (and finished there), and right beside our chalet! We are pleased that you, in particular, found the apartment suited your needs, and it is great recommendation that you would book the apartment again, in the future.

Thank you for the review. We are pleased that you found our advice helpful, especially as you booked at the last minute, giving us a very short period to accommodate you. We must take issue with your assertion about the points. We are currently in the apartment, and we have found the WiFi to be working adequately for our purposes (I am responding to you, and typing this message, on that same WiFi!), and for the purposes for which it is set up: occasional use, checking emails, light web browsing, etc., and not for permanent and continuous streaming and video watching. Having said that, the Internet is provided by the chalet co-owners and we have no individual control over their provision, but there is some debate over upgrading the system. However, we do find most people bring their own Internet, supplied by their mobile phone, nowadays. As for the heating, the apartment has underfloor heating, which, in Winter, kicks in when outside temperature dictates, this is normally enough for maintaining a warm apartment. Again, on our arrival, in early January, immediately after your rental and with temperatures below freezing outside, the apartment was warm. We had no need for any supplementary heating! In fact, we are currently in the apartment, and have had the wall radiators on low only occasionally in the evening to boost the underfloor heating, and we have had no problems maintaining a warm room, and have had no recourse to the plug-in radiators at all, as the wall radiators work satisfactorily for us. Maybe, you didn't switch them on at the Mains Switch: the Green switch, below the Main switch needs activating? Nevertheless,we appreciate your comments, and thank you for your input for our reference.

Apreciamos que, en estos tiempos difíciles de Covid, es difícil conseguir que nuestro limpiador local entre con frecuencia para limpiar adecuadamente el apartamento, especialmente cuando un inquilino reserva en el último minuto. En nuestras condiciones de alquiler queda claro que los inquilinos deben dejar el apartamento lo suficientemente limpio para el próximo inquilino, claramente el inquilino anterior no cumplió con esta condición. La Gardienne, diría y lo sé, es MUY útil, pero solo habla francés, así que si le hablas en español, ¡no te entenderá! No hay lavadora, es cierto, pero describimos con precisión las instalaciones dentro del apartamento, por lo que cuando decimos que no hay una, ¿asumimos que sabe qué esperar? Es cierto que el WiFi es comunitario, pero también lo indicamos con precisión en nuestra guía. Hay suficiente cubertería, vajilla, utensilios de cocina, etc. para ocho personas dentro del apartamento. El chalet recibe una limpieza a fondo y una actualización de las instalaciones al final de cada temporada de alquiler, y un medio de limpieza por parte de nuestro agente local.

It would have been nice if you had confirmed with us the receipt of all the information we sent you, so that any problems could have been resolved regarding your travel before your arrival. We agree, it is a great location, the apartment lacks nothing in amenities and facilities, and is well worth a visit! The instructions for the route up to the chalet are clear and precise; they are valid for BOTH Winter AND Summer, NOT just for the Winter - Residents (and renters) can ignore the "No Left Turn" sign, or take the alternative route via SatNav! The mattress protectors are designed to protect the mattress, which appears exactly what they have done. These are able to be wiped, which I would expect a renter to do before they leave (as per our House Rules - any spills, etc. must be cleaned up immediately), so that this is not an issue for the next renter. The sofa in the Lounge is being replaced this year; however, it is NOT advertised as a sofa bed, so we would not expect anybody to use it as a bed; it is only expected to be used as a sofa (for seating), for which it is perfectly serviceable. We look forward to your next rental with us.

La Cabine est effectivement sans porte, comme c'est très courant pour une deuxième chambre (avec les lits superposes) dans les appartements à la montagne, mais nous n'avons jamais eu à nous plaindre quant à l'intimité lors de l'utilisation de la Cabine! La Cabine n'est pas un "coin nuit", car c'est une chambre séparée. Thank you for the 4 Star Review! We appreciate the precision of your comment about the proximity of the ski piste and the gondola car. The Cabine (second bedroom), is indeed without a door, as is very common for a second bedroom (with bunk beds) in the apartments in the mountains, but we have never had a complaint as to the privacy involved when the Cabine is in use! The Cabine is not a "coin nuit" (which is more of a 'sleeping area' inside another room, usually a Lounge), as it is a separate bedroom.

I would add that there are free navettes, which are electrical and operate in all conditions, throughout the day for transport to and from the ski stations of St G and Le Bettex (and down to Le Fayet via the town centre); one navette stop (Le Chateau at Saint Martin) is within a two minute walk from the chalet; admittedly, a car is most convenient for going further afield. Many thanks for the booking and the 5 Star review; it is much appreciated. I agree, the apartment has everything that is necessary for a fantastic stay, including incredible views. I would agree that the WiFi is satisfactory, and that the network can get clogged when people do not adhere to the rules on use and stream excessively! We are trying to get the WiFi extended and improved. Anyway, in this day and age, most people arrive with their own mobile phone with their own data usage package!
