THE LOCATION

Vernon Township is in Sussex County New Jersey, USA. It is located about 1 hour from New York City and was established on April 8, 1793. Iron mining was prevalent during the mid-to-late 19th century. Mines such as Canister Mine, Williams Mine, and the Pochuck Mine created industry which spawned local businesses and brought rail travel to the town.
Today Vernon and the immediate area is an outdoor lover’s paradise. Here you will find a landscape consisting of residential and resort communities, farmland, apple orchards, pumpkin patches, bird watching, barns, horse farms and stables, lakes, fishing, and just so much natural beauty. The famous Appalachian Trail (AT) even runs through it! You will be amazed on what you will find only 1 hour outside of New York City.

We came in town for a wedding. The condo was clean and check in was easy. Followed aome of the suggestions for things to do and had a good time. Only complaint was the bed was very uncomfortable 😕

We were looking for a ski-in, ski-out experience with an outdoor heated pool & an efficiency kitchen. This place checked all the boxes. We had a great time!! *don’t forget to BYO towels for the pool/spa & extra coffee pods if you’re a heavy coffee drinker like me ;)

My stay at the property was nothing short of exceptional. The room was exactly as depicted in the photos and described in the details. The room was spotless. The bed was very comfortable. It was walking distance to Mountain Creek water park. I would stay here again or at any of Gerry’s properties. Highly recommended.

Great weekend trip

The property was clean, well stocked, and the property manager was GREAT with communication. There wasn't as much to do bc of covid, but this was explained in the reservation. Only complaint is that the room was a little small and beds were uncomfortable, but the location and cleanliness made up for it.

Lovely and unique property clean and elegant

Very unique and special venue, great color combination of a European style lodge. Great room, all the amenities, and beautiful grounds nicely maintained. Easy access, good parking. Also the hotel staff very accommodating and helpful.

Clean and great location

Gerry, the host, was super responsive and accommodating. The condo was clean and location great. The condo itself was a long walk from the elevators so you may want to keep that in mind if you're someone who has difficulty walking.

Great Place to Stay

We really enjoyed our stay at the Appalachian in G's Amazing Studio. It was hot all weekend, but the AC in the unit worked great. Everything was neat and clean. We did a lot of hiking in the area and enjoyed local restaurants such as the George Inn, the Mixing Bowl (for breakfast) and the Dairy Swirl. We would definitely be happy to return and will recommend it to others.

Great Condo in a Great Location

Gerry's Studio Valley View condo was comfortable, well-equipped ,well located at Mountain Creek resort and professionally managed. Whether you're interested in the water park, skiing or just enjoying a getaway in beautiful Northern New Jersey, this hotel has a beautiful heated outdoor swimming pool, hot tubs, fitness center and a games room.

Perfect! Great for small families.

This place is amazing. We came for a last minute trip to take our 3 year old skiing. It could not have been more perfect. The location is right on the slopes, the studio is clean and spacious, with sweet little touches like hot cocoa and popcorn. We could see out the magic carpet and lifts. Gerry communicated clearly and efficiently everything we needed to know. We were beyond pleased and impressed, will definitely stay here again! Only one thing to note, not the fault of the studio itself but people should be aware the hot tub gets very busy. Nothing you can change about it, but just to set expectations. This place was A+, perfect way to take our toddler skiing while minimizing the challenges that come along with taking little kids.

Always pleasurable and accommodating

Gerry is always professional and quick to reply. We've stayed in this unit twice this winter season and both times he was able to accommodate use with short notice. The unit is always clean and well stocked with everything you need for your stay...right down to hand warmers for those cold winter ski runs. We will always use Gerry for our rental needs.

Great slopeside location!

The unit was very clean and included nice thoughtful extras such as a basket with popcorn, hot chocolate, hand and toe warmers! We enjoyed the gas fireplace and the hotel itself was very nice with a café, game room etc. The slope side location directly next to the lodge can't be beat. And it was great having a ski locker on the first floor to avoid carrying the gear to and from the unit and also avoiding the crowded lockers at the lodge! The personal customer service provided by the property manager/owner were also superb! All questions were answered quickly and our requests were accommodated in a very thoughtful and friendly manner.

Extremely impressed with this property

We have used FlipKey for this location in the past, but we were extremely impressed with this property. The room was well stocked with everything you need. From bottled water, snacks, shampoo & soaps. Dish soaps, sponges, Keurig coffee maker and pods. They even provided hand warmers, which came in very 'handy' since it was only 10 degrees when we started skiing. The owner of this property was kind enough to accommodate us last minute and for a 1 night stay. Most other properties require a minimum of 2 nights. We will definitely be using this owner again, whether it's for this location or one of the many other that are offered. Thank you Gerry!

Love the property, but maintenance has slipped

We have stayed at this location before and still love it, but I was surprised to find that the hallways were torn up due to construction, which also caused our power to flicker throughout the night. Also, we were warned that we would be charged if we used the spare pillows in the closet, however the pillows on the bed were dirty, so we had to swap them out. We still had a great time, and enjoyed the grounds, but I would maybe have reconsidered if I had known about the construction ahead of time.

Great little ski get a way!

Rented this studio for 2 nights! Everything was great. I have stayed here before and we love it! I was with 3 kids and myself. It was very cozy and had everything needed. Would recommend.
