Please be assured that all 3 bathrooms were well-lit upon your arrival. The pool was thoroughly vacuumed & cleaned, and the water quality was confirmed to be excellent and safe for swimming by our pool maintenance company. Unfortunately, the recent heavy rainfall may have temporarily impacted the water’s clarity. We ensure that the kitchen is stocked with essentials as listed on VRBO, and we’ve also added new knives, wine glasses, beach towels, and more for your convenience. The coffee maker is available for guest use, along with ground coffee. Please note that the coffee grinder is a personal item of the owner and is not included in the VRBO amenities, though it is functioning properly. Each bathroom is equipped with bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash for your use. The 4 poolside loungers, 3 of which were newly added before your stay, have been inspected and are in excellent condition. Regarding the balcony, there is no missing glass; the last section is secured with a white safety rope net leading to the stair balcony to ensure the safety of children. The swing seat was damaged by a guest and subsequently removed from the available amenities over a year ago. It is no longer accessible for use. The issue with the bathroom door scraping has been resolved. We appreciate your feedback. Our charming rustic cottage, set amidst the lake, forest, and bush, offers an authentic natural experience with local wildlife such as birds, bugs, mosquitoes, and spiders. We are committed to chemical-free practices in our yard and garden to preserve the natural ecosystem, even though it may invite some unexpected guests. For local activities, please refer to the ‘Explore the area’ section of our VRBO listing. A pen is provided on the kitchen island folder for guests to sign the ‘Short-Term Rental Accommodation Renter’s Code of Conduct’ as outlined in the check-in instructions sent prior to your arrival. The a/c system is a Google Nest Thermostat, and instructions are provided for ease of use. We are happy to adjust the temperature for you to ensure a worry-free stay. Upon reviewing your payment history, I would like to clarify that the total amount paid exceeds $7000, with at least 30% covering VRBO service fees & processing fees, and HST payable to the government. We take your comments seriously. Regarding the pool, Michael came right after the thunderstorms to vacuum and treat the water, and our pool maintenance company had confirmed excellent and safe water quality the day before your arrival. Unfortunately, the severe thunderstorms and tornado warnings that week caused ongoing cloudiness, and we understand how disappointing that must have been. Michael also left the pool vacuum for you to use, considering the on‑and‑off rain and heavy storms during your stay. The pool is equipped with an auto chlorine puck feeder, which runs 24/7 to maintain safe chlorine levels and overall water quality. If you had mentioned your concern earlier, we would have arranged additional maintenance right away. When Michael was on site repairing the downspout and tending to the pool after the storms, he also trimmed the weeds around the wooden platform and the yard perimeter, as the severe weather had caused significant damage and unusually rapid weed growth. The canoe was lost by previous guests during a storm couple months ago and has been removed from the listing since then. I’m sorry for the confusion this caused. The broken net left by previous guests has also been removed, and the replacement net for the pool basketball toy is already on the way. We provide several other watercraft for guests, including 2 kayaks, 1 SUP, and 1 pedal boat, and we recently purchased a new canoe to replace the one that was lost. Since the cottage has been fully booked since late May, all watercraft have been in regular use, and outdoor items can become dirty quickly, especially after rain. Regarding the balcony, there is no missing glass panel. The last section is intentionally secured with a white safety rope net leading to the stair balcony to ensure additional protection for children when stepping down the stairs. Regarding drinking water, the whole house is equipped with a filtration system, and the kitchen tap has a high‑quality filter as noted in the house rules. The water is safe for drinking. I personally prefer boiled water everywhere I go, so my suggestion may have caused confusion — I’m sorry about that. As for insects and outdoor conditions, the cottage is located right beside the forest, and the combination of storms, humidity, and continuous rain can bring Insects inside when windows or doors are opened. The cottage received some renovations last year and earlier this year, and we will continue making improvements as soon as the busy season ends. We have also hired a new professional cleaning lady to further improve the cleaning standards you mentioned.
