Our new and just renovated lake home Sleeps 12-14 comfortably.

We so enjoyed our stay at The Alder's cottage. The cottage was beautifully set up and cared for, the views were fabulous, and the number of places throughout the property to sit back individually or with others were great! We will definitely return!!

This was our second stay at this wonderful cottage. I have nothing but good things to say once again. Sue and Mark are exceptional hosts and I would highly recommend this cottage.

Fabulous family getaway holiday

We were so pleasantly surprised to see how well equipped the cottage was as some rentals can be lacking, but not this one! Would highly recommend for families or friends getting together to create memories.

This cottage is on a quiet bay with beautiful views. Very well equipped for adults and children. The children had a great time on the float mat, and we all enjoyed swimming from the dock and relaxing in the hot tub. We had most meals on the deck and fit 13 of us around the deck dining table. The fire one evening was a hit, and we generally enjoyed our 6 night and 5- day holiday with all the cousins together. The hosts were very approachable and even came a distance to look after one problem. Thank you Mark and Sue.

We had an excellent stay! The cottage is spacious, well-equipped and very comfortable for a big group. The views of the lake are spectacular! Definitely recommend Riverhouse Winery nearby. We rented a pontoon boat and explored Bobs Lake too. The hosts were very responsive and helpful. I would definitely recommend this property, we made some wonderful memories with our family!

Loved our vacation. Several outdoor spaces for our large extended family. Lots of quiet areas. Huge frig. Great views of the water, and our nonshedding dog loved it. Plan to return next year.

Beautiful property, very spacious and comfortable. We had a very lovely stay and felt right at home. House has everything you need and some. Hosts are wonderful people, very helpful and answered all out questions in a very timely manner. We recommend it!

We stayed for five nights with family of 11 and two small dogs. We had a fantastic stay! So much space for everyone to lounge separately or come together for games. Well stocked cottage and owners were very quick to reply. Beautiful property and lake. We were talking about making this place a new tradition! Thank you Mark and Sue!

Our stay at this cottage was remarkable. Sue made sure that all our needs were met and if we had any issues she was just a phone call away. The cottage was clean and a lot of effort was put in to make it very comfortable for my entire family. Everything was as listed with no surprises and we will definitely return. Arnie

Family Cottage August 2024

We loved the location of the cottage. The house and cabin were the perfect size to accommodate our whole family. Lots of area outside to play games and run. Updates to the house were beautiful but the kitchen could use an update. We loved our stau and made many beautiful memories

This property is absolutely stunning and has so much to do. We came with our family, rented a boat, and enjoyed a beautiful week here. The children loved to swim right off the beach and the adults enjoyed swimming off the dock and hanging out on the water mat. There were enough places in the house to be together or have time alone. The owners were very responsive and replied to any questions I had quickly. Everything was in the house that was needed, which was a huge bonus!

Fabulous retreat

The cottage was exactly as advertised - it's a beautiful, spacious, luxurious getaway. The property and cottage are both well maintained, with lots of room for guests, and lots of space to rest and relax. The hot tub, outdoor eating, deck space, and gazebo gave us lots of room to enjoy and the indoors is modern, beautifully decorated, and very spacious to host guests. Owners were very responsive, helpful, checked in during our stay, and provided easy instructions for arrival and departure. We have recommended this property to others and will definitely go back.

Excellent Vacation Stay

The cottage is beautiful and the location outstanding. The cottage exceeded our expectations. One of the highlights of the cottage is the many seating areas, there is always a sunny or shady area to sit. Also covered areas so that you can still enjoy the outdoors even when rainy. The kitchen is very well stocked, the beverage fridge and ice maker were much appreciated. The floating water mat was also a highlight. It is a perfect vacation spot for a large extended family (we had 10 family members).

Family get together

Really excellent for a large group like us, grandparents, kids , grandkids. Lots of chairs for watching the kids at the water or for around the fire pit. Lots of sunfish for the little ones to catch and release. Lots of chairs on the decks. Air conditioning was great on the +30 days. We all enjoyed it and kept commenting on how perfect it was

Lovely home

Beautiful home with lots of bedrooms and living space. Large front yard with lots of decks overlooking water and dock. Hot tub is close to house with gazebo. Owners were very helpful with questions and home well stocked with necessities you may have forgotten. The private bunkie is nice for those who want to spend some time alone. Pet friendly which was very important for us with 2 small dogs.

Great cottage on the lake!

We were a group of 4 families and just spent such a wonderful week at this beautiful lakefront cottage. The house is fully stocked with everything you might need, and the hosts were quick to answer any questions we had before and during our stay. There is ample space for large groups, inside and outside the house with the 3 living areas and so many decks and the dock. We even brought our boat and enjoyed the lake. The kids and teens (aged 10-15) had so much fun staying in the bunkie, while the adults all had their bedroom in the main house.

Family Holiday

My dad spent his childhood summers visiting family in Westport, and so we decided to take him back to the area for his 60th birthday with all of his grandkids. We had an amazing week and would highly recommend for a big family! The kids had such a fun stay in the bunkie and the property was nice and spread out with enough room for everyone. The hosts were also very responsive and answered any questions we had quickly! My only suggestion would be to stock up on bug spray before you come, because being in the woods and the proximity to the lake brings around a lot of mosquitoes! All-in-all 10/10!

Booked again for next year. Pretty much says it worked for my family 6 adults 7 children 9-14. Bunkie was perfect for the teens to have their own space. Lots of seating indoor and out, sun and shade, Everything was as per the listing. We found the beds comfortable and lots of towels. Thank you Mark and Sue for sharing your lovely place on the lake.

This cottage was perfect for our large family… both inside and outside. The lakeside was a favourite with many lounging areas, well placed fire pit and well tended green spaces. The cottage is stocked with all you need to cook, lots of storage for food, with a bonus drinks fridge and ice maker. The bunkie was taken over by our teens, their special place. All around great experience.

Great spot for large family get-together. The central area has open plan kitchen and large area with lots of seating so everybody can be together. The cottage has a good paddling area which I consider essential if you have young children in your group. There was plenty to see right on the property including a heron, a water snake, and a turtle laying her eggs! We had a wonderful time.
