"High Wind Daze" on Miken ja Christina Burnsin huoneisto ja se oli juuri remontoitu! Uudessa keittiössä, kylpyammeissa, lattiat, ikkunat ja ovet, kaikki on koskematonta. Se sijaitsee aivan Ocean Air Sportsin vieressä, North Avon, NC, lyhyen kävelymatkan päässä valtameren rannoilta ja muutaman askeleen ääniin. Sijaitsee Pamlico Pointin ylimmässä kerroksessa, ja se on täydellinen sijainti, josta on parhaat näkymät rakennukseen! Se on vesimiesten paratiisi! Katso auringonnousua valtameren yli etupuolella kannella kupillisella kahvia aamulla ja nauti sitten cocktail parhaista auringonlaskuista itärannikolla takana olevalla yksityisellä parvekkeella. Välillä voit suunnata vedelle päivän vesiurheiluseikkailuillesi, rentoutua uima-altaassa tai mennä kalastamaan yksityisellä laiturilla omalla pienellä purollamme, joka johtaa suoraan ääneen. Valtameren puolelle on julkinen pääsy valtatien toisella puolella, joten sekä ääni- että valtamerelle pääsy on kävelyetäisyydellä. Niille, jotka tuovat omia vesilelujaan, on maanpinnalla suuri säilytyslokero, johon voidaan tallentaa kaikkea istuntojen välillä. Jos haluat päästä veteen, Oceanair Sports on aivan vieressä ja tarjoaa leijalautailua, purjelautailua, kajakkia, Stand Up Paddle ja vesiskootterivuokrausta. Uusi vuodelle 2019 on upea ravintola myös vieressä! Rakastamme yöpymistä "High Wind Daze" -hotellissa ja tiedämme, että sinäkin.

Great spot will be back

If you are looking for a comfy spot to stay while in Avon NC look no further. This place was great! Plenty of room for my family of four.

Extremely well kept, clean, quiet, and great location. We loved the direct access to sound, pool, proximity to beach and pier, as well as restaurants. Owners’ recommendations were spot on with restaurants and things to do.

Relaxing weekend

Great place for a windsurfing weekend. Condo was just as advertised, kitchen stocked with cookware, clean, tastefully decorated. Comfortable furniture. Will stay again!

Everything was super clean and beautiful. Mike was very helpful whenever we had any question and that balcony was amazing with the breeze from the sound. Hopefully we get to come back here!

Peaceful Retreat

My husband and I loved this condo and would like to stay there again on our next visit. The view was so very peaceful and we loved sitting on the deck for our morning coffee and our evening downtime. Mike was great to communicate with and helped make our trip easy. The condo is super clean and the bed is comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked and while we did not use the pool it looked very clear and inviting. I would recommend this unit to all my family and friends!

Perfect property for our family vacation

"High Wind Daze" was the great property for our recent family vacation. With two bedrooms and two bathrooms it was the perfect setup for my wife and I and our two younger children. The property was very clean upon arrival and had recently been remodeled. It was in great condition. The property owner Mike was great to deal with. He always provided very prompt responses to any inquiries. And he lives in the area in the event you have any issues. Although we had no issues and nothing but a great time. Couldn't recommended this property more

Outer bank review

We had a wonderful time in the Outer Banks exploring, swimming, walking on the beach, and many more wonderful activities. The house was close to everything including a place to rent kayaks and a restaurant. You cn also walk a few blocks or drive to other restaurants. It was a great vacation!

This was my second time staying at Mike & Christine's condo. It was and is a perfect location for the OBX and everything about their condo is perfect. Exactly as advertised, complete with wonderful recommendations of what to do. We would love to come back again and hope to soon!!

Very nice place

Grounds are well kept, neighbors are friendly and helpful. Water pressure in the showers was a tad weak but being on the 4th floor expectable. Everything was clean and ready for us to enjoy. If I were to suggest anything, it would be a toaster.

Great Place

There were 5 of us. I slept on the pull out couch, and I thought the condo was very comfortable for all of us. The condo was clean, and the views were great. It was a short walk to the beach which was quiet and not very crowded. We also liked having the pool there for a change of pace with the kids. The neighbors were great and everything was convenient to shopping.

Condo by the Sound

We enjoyed the fantastic location for continuing to learn to windsurf, and also taking our paddle boards out on Spencer's Creek right from the condo which accesses the sound. Staying next to OceanAir Sports made it so convenient to rent windsurfers for a morning session, break for lunch, and then an afternoon back on the sound. We also utilized the pool almost every day. We had fun biking around to restaurants and the neighborhoods. Loved heading to the beach for sunrises, and finishing the day with dazzling sunsets viewed from the deck.

The floors were filthy upon arrival. We had to clean the floors immediately. They were so covered in sand and dirt we could not walk barefoot until we cleaned up. End tables in the master bedroom to be able to read would be nice. Also lightbulb out in the living room. Deck chairs too low to enjoy the view. As our dog and cat died while we were there, we left early. Not owners fault just all around bad time.

Great stay

Communication with the owner Mike was great. Gave great information and recommendations about places to eat and things to do in the area. Condo was a nice size, well equipped and very clean. The kitchen had lots of pots, pans, dishes, small appliances and newer fridge and stove. Beautiful sunsets every night from the large back deck with plenty of seating. Two things that are mentioned in the listing that I would emphasize is that there are a lot of steps so unpacking and packing is quite a chore. Also, if you are like my family and take lots of chairs, umbrellas, toys etc to the beach; it’s a bit of a hike. It’s just one block away but seems longer as you have to traverse a long wooden walkway and a sandy path across the dunes. We took several beach walks using that access but for our full beach days we drove to the pier which was about 1 mile away. The location is close to the shops and restaurants and only a short drive to neighboring towns. If you are looking for larger activities or chain restaurants it’s about a 45 minute drive to nags head / kill devil hills area. The pool was great. Always clean and warm. We utilized the laundry room which was handy and efficient. We brought kayaks to take right out in the sound with the direct access at the property. The storage locker was spacious enough for our three kayaks and plenty more. There are also kayak storage areas built in underneath the deck. Overall no complaints. Great condo. Great communication. Great vacation.

Great time in Avon as usual!

We’ve been vacationing in Avon now the past few years. We are a family that enjoys more laid back vacations instead of “touristy” vacations (we’ve been this way pre covid as well!) We have stayed at this particular building a few times now and just love it. I won’t lie, hiking all your luggage up all those floors is tough when it’s 90+ degrees and high humidity BUT that’s just the price you pay for a perfect view! Mikes condo was beautifully decorated and very clean! I’m a bit of a germ phobic and when we checked in you could literally smell the cleanness of the condo. We did have some unexpected critters on the balcony one day… apparent “midges” that come in swarms once in awhile and leave just as quickly. I contacted Mike because I was perplexed at what they were and he immediately got back to me and even offered to have an exterminator come out. After some research (and Mike even told us) we knew the weather coming in would most likely take them away as quick as they came in. The fact he was so quick to make sure we were comfortable, worth every penny we paid for the condo. We will be back! Thanks for a beautiful week in OBX!

High Wind Daze

Our family stayed at High Wind Daze from September 8-13. Mike and Christina were great to work with. Once our reservation was confirmed, Mike sent all the details so there were no questions on what to expect. And when I asked to add a day to my stay, I received an immediate response, even letting me know there were additional dates open if I wanted them. Payment was super easy. The condo was updated and decorated beautifully! We had all of the comforts of home. Mike suggested a couple of restaurants to visit, which we did and were not disappointed. And the neighbors were very friendly. We visited Hatteras Lighthouse and went on a Wild Pony Tour, which were both fun. Our only issue, which was not at the fault of Mike and Christina, is that the maintenance crew came to change the furnace filters at 9:00 am the morning after we arrived. We arrived very late, and wanted to sleep in just a bit. Maintenance knocked and walked right in, without giving a chance for anyone to come to the door. One of the members in our group is a Police Officer, and as anyone knows, they don't like being startled like that. Other than that, the stay was wonderful. I highly recommend the High Wind Daze, and hope we can schedule another trip in the near future. Thanks to Mike and Christina!!!

Christina and Mike Burns are avid windsurfers. After 20+ years of renting properties in Avon every spring and fall for their windsurfing vacations, they decided to purchase "High Wind Daze" to be able to spend even more time in their favorite place on the planet. After spending their first winter renovating this condo, they decided that the Outer Banks was the place they wanted to call home. They left New York and moved to the Outer Banks full time in 2017. It's also nice to have the piece of mind that the owners of your rental property are only a short trip away to resolve any emergency situations that pop up while you are on your vacation.

"High Wind Daze" is in THE perfect location in Avon, NC. With Ocean Air Sports right next door, people staying here can simply wake up and walk next door to pick up their favorite water toys. Walk right to the water on both the sound and ocean sides. Shopping and restaurants are nearby. This property is on the top floor, and also a corner unit. Best views in the building and private. Staying here is the ultimate combination of excitement and relaxation.

Beyond the easy sound and ocean access, there is also a creek with a private dock that is perfect for fishing, and launching a SUP or Kayak. The top floor has the best views in the building and being an end unit adds more views in every direction. The onsite pool is only available to guests staying in the building and is an excellent option to take a break from the beach.
