Cruel Owner
I want to tell you a story of how cruel the owner of this house is, and if you know anyone who has had cancer or suffered a tragedy in their life, I don’t think you will want to rent this house.
I booked this house. My wife was sick and died of cancer earlier this year. I asked the owner to cancel and refund my stay because I could not come. I have medical bills and other extenuating circumstances.
The owner offered me a voucher to come again next year but refused to refund my stay. I explained that given my personal circumstance this would not be possible. I have never heard back from the owner nor received a refund.
When someone goes through a personal tragedy, one would hope that others would be understanding. However, the owner of this house has been I feel cruelly enough inflexible. I hope if he or she ever faces a similar situation in their own life, that they will find someone more kind, compassionate and generous to deal with than they have treated me.
It’s enough to deal with such a personal loss without having such cruel treatment added to an already difficult year.
