Downtown Victorian Charmer!

This impeccable historic apartment is in a perfect downtown San Diego location, only 5 blocks to the Gaslamp District and equally close to the outdoor cafes of Little Italy. A vintage gem surrounded by luxury towers, this 2-bedroom is part of four newly restored Victorian buildings, and is beautifully and artfully furnished with wood floors, two queen beds, and a fully equipped kitchen. This unique suite has all the comforts of a hotel and all the charm of a boutique inn.

In the center of downtown San Diego, just minutes from the airport and the convention center, Victoria Square is the perfect base from which to discover San Diego. Blocks to the harbor, the San Diego Opera, and Horton Plaza, this location is also only a few minutes walk to the San Diego trolley, and boasts easy freeway access to all beaches and attractions. Walking distance to the House of Blues, as well as to the Museum of Contemporary Art, Victoria Square is also only a five-minute drive from the famous San Diego Zoo and Balboa Park cultural center.

We provide ONE parking space inside the gated property for this unit! Any additional cars can park in paid lots nearby, or metered parking on the street. Street parking is free from 6pm-8am in most places.

This is located on the second floor, with one flight of stairs to walk up to reach the unit.

Daughter visit
The Victorian style home had character both inside and out. The stained glass doors were very cool. Both of us were comfortable in the house and had no problems. The negative aspect of this property is that every direction you go once you leave the property walking you have the homeless. Yes, most of them are harmless but too many are crazy. Very sad.

Girl's Weekend
Friends and I loved the Apartment. Some parts of the house were fairly dusty; not sure if it's because it was an old house, or because there hasn't been a guest in this space in quite some time. In one bedroom, it was difficult to locate an outlet to charge my phone but plenty of them in other rooms. Besides that, it was a nice place. AC worked well, and had plenty of fans, stools, and other small amenities available. Location was super convenient; 15 minute walk to a few ports, Little Italy, and the Gaslamp Quarters with a 20 min drive to Balboa Park.

Great location, clean, perfect for 2 couples or 4 friends
Very conveniently located in a decent part of town. Farmers market was walkable, easy access to waterfront and highway. Great to have two full baths! Hosts were easy to contact and responded quickly. The sofa is a little worn but it had a cover on it, and the pull out bed was more comfortable to sleep on than expected. It is close to downtown so it can get slightly noisy at night and you hear the garbage trucks in the morning but this didn't bother us at all. Gated parking was also great!

Long weekend getaway
The property was in a great location… Walking distance to Little Italy, the Gaslamp Quarter, and more. Plenty of restaurants and shopping are close by. The place was the perfect size for us. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed and we were happy with our stay. The host was very accommodating and helpful.

Cute property, can't beat the value
My unit was in a lovely collection of Victorian homes and included a (gated) parking spot. Being in downtown San Diego, this is an incredible value by itself. Great food within easy walking distance, and Little Italy is walkable or in very short driving distance (awesome dining, we liked it even more than Gaslamp district). It took a moment to figure out the entry and gate, but fortunately one of the housekeepers was on site and kindly greeted us. Being a lovely old building, noise is a bit of a problem during the night (especially being in the downtown district, where there is always more noise at baseline - transit, ambulances, etc). But this comes with the territory with old windows and insulation. Overall the amenities were enough for us, as we didn't spend much time at the unit aside from evenings and night, and plenty comfortable. My only suggestion would be some improved lighting, especially in the bathrooms. Overall, an excellent value and you really can't beat the location!

House of blues concert
Came to San Diego to see a concert at the house of blues. Everything turned out great. The house is within walking distance of most everything you need. We had to Uber a few times. There is a parking spot with this rental but we did not use it.

Downtown San Diego Victorian
Was clean and secure gated and locked. Communication was reliable and fast with property managers. Theres a bit of an ant problem, don't leave out sweets. There did leave child proof ant spray. The location is right by a church that shelters homeless people and that was a bit scary; San Diego has alot of homeless people! And so much dog poop! At least we hoped it was dog poop! So, location not as safe and clean as we hoped, but as soon as you walk towards the ocean a few blocks it was great, and property was clean and safe so that was great.

All very good. Grateful for the A/C. Quiet-no city noise. Super location. Needs better seating for dining for two. Barstools not so comfortable, with no knee room.

Perfect little charmer
This property was perfect for a weekend getaway! It’s in the middle of Gaslamp and Little Italy so both were an easy ~15 minute walk. It has a ton of character and is gated - which was a HUGE plus. The hosts were a delight to work with and answered super quick. Would definitely stay here again!

Location, Location, Location
We really enjoyed our stay as it was very close to all things we needed (waterfront, Little Italy, Gaslamp)....little tricky finding our unit in the dark but all gate/apt codes worked great.....quiet building.....as noted in previous review, do need to upgrade/change the mattresses/box springs on both beds.....good value for what u pay & hosts VERY responsive when needed

Just as advertised!
Great spot, perfect for a small group. Very secure (gated property). Super easy/accommodating check in/out process. Not too much room in the kitchen/living room, so as long as you don’t intend to spend too much time inside, you’ll be happy! Located within walking distance (10-20 min) to the harbor, little Italy, and Gaslamp.

Good Location
Property is well located for downtown activities but needs a couple of chairs (only has a love seat and 2 bar stools) and the property needs to change the mattress pads on both beds--they are rubber and very hard to deal with. Otherwise the location is very clean and the offstreet parking is great!

Quaint & Centrally Located
This is a super cute apartment that is close to everything! There isn't much living space but was definitely cozy, not cramped. Hosts were attentive and we happened to be around when maintenance guy was on property. He was friendly and took the time to ask how things were going. Would definitely stay here again should I find myself back in beautiful San Diego!

What a gem!
My daughter and I stayed for 5 nights at this gem. The location is outstanding, fenced in and secure with access gates and an off-street parking space. The beds are comfy and the linens are the softest I’ve ever experienced. The host is excellent with communication and very accommodating. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking in the rental and there are plenty of extra pillows and blankets if needed. I highly recommend this unit.

San Diego Getaway
Cortez Hill is a perfect location to explore San Diego from. Walkable access to Little Italy, the waterfront, Gaslamp district and many other sites. In the evening, we used rideshares instead of walking. The apartment was perfect for us. We felt safe there and, overall, it was very quiet. It is in the city center, so you will hear sirens or the sanitation trucks, but that is expected. I would stay here again.

Quaint downtown apartment
The apartment was lovely with all the amenities of home. Located within gated property with a secure parking space, making this a desirable rental property. In walking distance of restaurants and city attractions. A definite plus when in a city location.

Nice place with parking
We were a bit surprised with all the homeless lined up around the corner at the front of the house, but realized that getting in and out of the parking was around the corner. We were never bothered by people that were walking around, and made sure that the gates were closed (we noticed the gate left open from another tenant). But having the parking space was great, and it was easy to access our apartment once we figured out that the gate opener was inside the room! Having access to the television in each room was great too. Washer/dryer was nice to have as well. Apartment was centrally located and easy to get to Gaslamp, Little Italy, the freeway... Thank you!

Great birthday trip
Had a great time at this Victorian charmer in San Diego. It’s a top floor apartment which made it feel safe and quiet I was also very happy the entire property is gated since the area is a bit questionable downtown . The place had everything we could need for a weekend stay and was incredibly close to little Italy and the gas lamp district. Also very close to balboa park and the zoo!
