Quiet Oasis

The perfect getaway for a solo traveler or a couple. The end of a dead end street in the middle of the harbor, it is less than one mile to both Harbor Beach and Long Sands Beach. It is within 1/2 mile of the middle of town, walking distance to Village Scoop and several restaurants. Dog-friendly, within 1/4 mile to a walking path, 1/2 mile to the Wiggly Bridge, Steedman Woods, and Fisherman’s Walk. Bikes on the premises available for use. The cozy space is an apartment on the second floor of an owner-occupied house. It has a separate entrance. Outdoor space is available to enjoy. Dogs welcome, as long as he/she is friendly with other dogs as a friendly lab mix lives downstairs and plays outside.

Wedding Weekend

Was in town for a busy wedding weekend. Didn’t spend much time at the house, but it was a great base for us to get ready and crash at night.

First off, Alli's home is located at the end of very pretty, quiet residential street. There was an area with patio furniture to enjoy the beautiful weather and morning tea. More of a note for future guests than a negative...when you open the front door you're faced with a very steep set of stairs. So hauling your luggage was a bit challenging and if you aren't able to navigate stairs very well this should be taken into consideration. Alli was very responsive when I reached out to let her know that there were no hangers in the closet. By the time I got back she had already brought them. The apartment was perfectly located close to the beach, downtown area and the Union Bluff Hotel where I was attending a wedding. It was nice, quiet and relaxing. I was only there for 3 days and busy with wedding activities but my stay was very enjoyable. Thanks, Alli!!

Great Spot

The apartment was clean, had all necessary comforts, and was much bigger than the pictures made it out to be. The outdoor space and neighborhood were nice and quiet, yet walking distance from the town and beach. The host was communicative and friendly. Would 100% stay there again!

Cute Apartment!

We had an amazing time! Cozy space and so close to the ocean and all the sites York has to offer. Alli is wonderful and provided us with everything we needed including beach chairs! ⛱️

Perfect location

Alli was great! Let us check in early and check out late. Helpful providing recommendations for dinners and other things. Very quiet neighborhood. Centrally located to all York has to offer.

Quiet & comfortable apartment

Quiet 1 bedroom apartment just as described. AC kept place comfortable. Alli was very friendly and accommodating! Place is actually even bigger than it looks in the pictures. So nice to find a dog friendly spot close to the beach! Would absolutely recommend, and would book again.

Perfect place to stay

The place was extremely clean and nicely furnished. The air conditioner was excellent and it was in walking distance to coffee/bagel shop and ice cream parlor. It was quiet and well located for my needs. I will stay again if I am ever in the area.

Quiet oasis

We had a good time at this quiet oasis, especially with the fire pit! The apartment was a bit dusty and had insects in the window wells that should be cleaned out. We also had some issues with other guests being a bit rude and it would have been nice to have have given them a heads up other guests are on the property.

Cute garage apartment

It was perfect for us! Nice and quiet on a cute dead end street. VERY clean. Alli was the perfect host--available and accessible but gave us our space. Location was wonderful-super close to beaches. Would definitely come back!

Exceptionally convenient

What a gem of a place! We had another property cancel pretty close to our vacation and were super lucky Alli’s place was available - it turned out to be such a better option than our original. Alli is warm and welcoming and the house had everything we needed. It’s in an excellent location, and we were able to walk to fireworks at the beach for 4th of July.

Lovely Apartment in a Charming Town

I stayed here for 2 weeks with my giant Newfoundland while I looked for a place to live. The apartment is very well stocked with everything you might need, and it’s in a fantastic location on a quiet street near the beaches and restaurants. I appreciated all the little touches that made it so cozy and inviting. The best part of my stay was the helpfulness of the owner. You’ll be lucky if you get a chance to stay here.

Disappointing and Disrespectful

After 2 nights of our 3 night stay, I was informed by the host that we were staying in the incorrect unit and would have to move our things ASAP for the next guest. My partner and I had already left for the morning, since it was my birthday, and had a full schedule of plans for the day. We had to cancel our lunch reservations and rush back to the apartment because the host threatened to move our stuff (and dog) if we did not return in time. When I expressed my displeasure about the situation, stating this was a major inconvenience to our day, I was met was hostility, excuses, and blame from the host. The only “kindness” she offered was that she wasn’t going to charge us an additional pet clean up fee, again as though we were in the wrong. Not to mention, the unit we were kicked out of was apparently more expensive (despite being significantly smaller) and it felt as though the host only cared enough to prioritize her premium guests. We were also paying guests, despite feeling like unwanted house guests. That was the nail in the coffin for me. My partner and I have both spent years working in customer service and I travel regularly for work; I have never experienced such a poor customer service. “I’m sorry but” is not an apology. Threatening to enter our space and move our things and pet does not leave me feeling safe. Overall, left this stay feeling like a second class citizen, on my birthday no less. What a major letdown. Never again.

Summer 24 Vacation

As offered in the title a quiet oasis. This was perfect for my short stay of exploring historic York. It had everything I needed for my stay and the property was very cute!

The apartment is perfectly located near everything. The apartment is also much nicer (and larger in appearance) in person than in the pictures. It is a lovely place. I would recommend a careful walkthrough by the host when guests depart so that the towels of prior guests or anything that prior guests used are not left for the current guest to manage. There was also a small gnat issue in the kitchen that should be addressed. Annoying but not enough to change how we felt about our stay. Host (Alli) was very accommodating and very kind. She went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant. Overall, the apartment was lovely, relaxing, and perfect for a quick getaway.

Lovely Upstairs Hideaway

We had a wonderful time at this property and close to private beach, shops and wonderful restaurants. The place was clean, cozy and had a lot of character. Alli is very attentive and house was at the end of a street so very peaceful for our relaxing last summer hoorah. I think the only thing I could say is it is not a good fit for a person over 5'10. My partner is 6'2 and could not stand up in certain parts of the place.

Cozy stay in York!

Alli's place is wonderful! It was such a comfortable and cozy place to come back to at the end of the day. It was also in a great location - easy to walk and explore parts of York Harbor, and just a short drive to York Beach. Alli was great with all communication, and gave some great breakfast and lobster recommendations. Hope to go back some day!

Amazing experience

The apartment was adorable and Alli was very welcoming to me and my large dog. It can be hard to find a good place that allows larger dogs, so I was thankful to find such a nice place. The apartment is on a very quiet dead end street and is a 5 minute drive to the main part of Long Sands. I had a great stay!

Cute and comfortable, close to everything!

We loved our stay here!!! The space is absolutely perfect for 2 people or a family with small children. There were so many thoughtful touches from the pre-made ice in the freezer to the half & half (!) and coffee in the kitchen, to the beach tote and cooler available for use. The cottage has a well-stocked kitchen and a cute little desk, and plenty of seating and good lighting. The wifi was perfect and the AC was quiet and effective. The decor is quirky and cute and really gives the feeling of being a welcome guest in someone's home as opposed to the IKEA everything soulless vibe I've seen in many rentals. This cottage is what I always hope the space will actually be like - thoughtful, personable, comfortable, clean, and cozy. We will absolutely stay here any time we come to York! Thank you so much for sharing such a lovely space with us!
