Beautiful, well furnished home; gorgeous view
Beautiful home, well stocked with kitchen equipment, dishes, etc., appropriate for the number of people the house sleeps. There was a pretty bad ant problem in the kitchen, but there is at my house at this time of year, too. We dealt with it. My extended family has been renting vacation homes for almost 30 years, and this was one of the best in terms of having things we need but often don't have: dishes, glasses, pots/pans, chair/table space for our group, lamps in the bedrooms, space to unpack. Very comfortable and a perfect view off the deck.
Only complaint was that we followed GPS directions, which were totally wrong: the street names on the map didn't match the street signs, and the directions took us way off the road. But once we got there and figured out how to re-direct the rest of our party, it was great.
Glad you enjoyed your stay. We hope you made many wonderful memories with your family.
We could begin by stating how much our entire family enjoyed our stay in the beautiful, spacious home, however; it really all began with our interactions with the owners. They were more than accommodating, generous, and they genuinely desired our stay to be the very best. Mr. Snow greeted us with fresh Georgia peaches upon our arrival as well as provided a tour of the home describing its amenities. We enjoyed meeting his wife, Jean, at the country club where we shared family stories with each other. Our family enjoyed meals together every evening and found the kitchen to be well appointed. The basement welcomed hours and hours of family games and tournaments which occurred morning, noon, and night! Even though the games were being played, those who desired to remain on the main level or upper level were never bothered by noise coming from the game areas. We enjoyed the cool morning breezes on the balcony. It was a summer repreeve from our hot climate in South Carolina. Clayton, GA, Franklin, NC, & Highlands, NC were a short drive from the home. Our family enjoyed viewing waterfalls and hiking throughout the area. Each member of our family could not believe how quickly our vacation week had gone by and everyone left relaxed and rejuevenated.
In addition to the many lovely and obvious amenities of this property we found the owners to be accessible and more than willing to assure our comfort. Southern hospitality in the truest tradition.
We were a group of six siblings and 4 spouses all retired. Room assignments were on a first come first serve basis. The nice thing about this property was that ALL the suites were luxurious, not just some.
We stayed at the house for a wedding that was being held at a vineyard nearby. We have two toddlers and several family members met us. It was fantastic for everyone involved. The kids loved the open space upstairs and down in the basement to run around. We could play shuffleboard and ping pong after everyone went to bed without anyone hearing and we could work upstairs in the huge lounge/office without being disturbed. It is truly a great vacation home!
A perfect winter vacation!
Our family stayed in this beautiful home for a week between this Christmas and New Years.I chose it because the location was good for my scattered-about kids and grand kids, and because of the home's size and beauty that I saw on this website. We were certainly not disappointed! If anything, it was even more lovely than the pictures!
Our group consisted of seven adults, and grandchildren between the ages of 2 and 16. It was very cold outside, but the big kids organized competitions in ping pong, shuffle board, and billiards for all of us, while the younger ones still had plenty of playing room in the basement. At night, we watched the bowl games on the big tv screen, by the fireplace.
Our only outings were to eat at the Dillard House, once into Highlands, and to ride the zip line.(very cold!). The house was too good to leave!
I would highly recommend this beautiful home to anyone, and thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Snow for paying such attention to detail for the benefit of your guests.
