The pictures don't quite di this cabin justice. We opened the door and it took our breath away. Everything was absolutely stunning and we enjoyed every minute we were there, we didn't want to leave. We will definitely plan on returning and doing this again.

Great for mission team

Beautiful tranquil setting with plenty of fun activities for the young people in our group. There were enough sleeping spaces to accommodate the young ladies, the guys, and the adults comfortably. Very pleasantly decorated and well supplied. Beds were comfortable. A very good experience.

Back for round 3!

This is our family's 3rd trip to this specific cabin and we can't wait for 4... the property is stunning. Its so nice to be away and in a quiet place. The home has everything you could possibly need. And being so remote, we were all thrilled at how much we could see of the night sky. We usually make one trip to town and go to Macados in Farmville. Highly recommend! Cute little town.

I am going to start of by saying, the pictures do not do this home justice. We were attending a holiday celebration. Although the house is secluded, it was conveniently located, 15 minutes from everywhere and everything we needed. It is well stocked and exceeded our needs.

This rental was perfect for us!

My wife and I were hosting out-of-town guests and family for our son's wedding in nearby Farmville. This turned out to be an ideal location. The host was always easy to reach for questions well in advance of our stay as well as during. The cabin was clean, well-stocked, plenty spacious, and great for meals for a larger group. While the nearby farmhouse is older, it has had some great updates (the kitchen is really well done) and it worked perfectly for the overflow of the several guests we had. But everyone had their own bedroom. The basement of the cabin is well suited for playtime with the pool table and foosball... we only regret that we didn't get to hang out there more because of our commitments for the rehearsal and weekend ceremony in Farmville. We'll have to go back just to enjoy a more relaxing weekend where we could just stay and enjoy the rental without all the coming and going that the weekend required. So glad we found this place and we highly recommend.

Ideal getaway location

A beautiful, not too rustic cabin set well back from the road. There are no neighbors in the backyard except for the birds, squirrels and deer. There are no neighbors in the front yard either. We needed a break from our daily grind and this wonderful place provided everything we needed and wanted. The host reached out before our arrival and followed up shortly after our checking. He wanted to make sure there were no issues finding the cabin and that everything was working once we had an hour or two to settle in. This is a place we will visit again!

Beautiful house and very serene location!

We had a wonderful time at the spring cabin. Thanks for sharing your place with us. The hot tub was wonderful and the record player was so much fun! The only feedback I would offer was that the smell of pesticide (we thought) was so intense in the basement that we could not use that space. We kept the door closed and it was better for the first floor. And, the house was so roomy, we didn't need the basement!! it was a perfect weekend away for my friends and me.

Rural Paradise

This cabin is not only equipped with every amenity imaginable, it is also comfortable and immaculate. The large front porch was were we spent many hours having coffee and enjoying the serene peaceful setting. The owner is very friendly and easy to work with. The layout made sharing with another couple perfect. The property is wonderful with the old homestead and tobacco barn still standing on the property. The caretaker lives a stone's throw from the cabin, and she and her wonderful family totally respected our privacy, and were able to answer any questions we had about the surrounding area. We were within reasonable traveling distance to grocery stores and restaurants. The Civil War history surrounds the property, and the town of Appomattox, where the war finally ended was a short drive away. This was one of the best vacations we have ever had! Highly recommend this cabin as a place to renew and relax. Thank you, Jim for a wonderful experience! We'll be back!

Could’ve been great

I’m gonna lost what list what went right first. The property was beautiful, hidden in the woods just as we needed. The house had plenty of room and would’ve been a fantastic spot for a relaxing weekend if the stuff that went wrong didn’t go wrong. About 20 minutes away from the civil war museum and plenty of spots to get good food. NOW FOR THE WRONG… the internet was practically unusable, the “high speed” was 2g… the hot tub advertised on the ad was not what we received. Instead we got a much smaller cheaper hot tub that was uncomfortable and oh yea… UNUSABLE during the day because of the hundreds of bees swarming the deck. There was not one, not two but three nests surrounding both the decks, one looked like bumble bees, the others looked like carpenter wasps. We found a dead cockroach in one of the bathrooms. The carpet in the basement was stained all over (not a big deal but still gross when they advertise it to be super clean, the basement was unfinished. The area around the fire pit was advertised to be nice and paved but it was like 7 inch tall weeds like the rest of the yard and overgrown garden. And he neglected to respond to me for most of the weekend aside from the night the power went out for 2 hours (which he took about 2.5 hours to respond about) and the night the ac went out and leaked all over the floor which I had to help fix. Which he answered about 25 minutes later and sent out an electrician and house keeper to help. There’s more but not allowed to write m

A great holiday weekend in the Spring Creek cabin

The cabin is thoughtfully designed, well built, beautifully decorated, and has everything needed for a relaxing and fun-filled family vacation. There was more than enough space for the seven of us - three couples and a toddler. We enjoyed playing horseshoes, cornhole, pool, and foosball. We soaked in the hot tub, made s'mores at the fire pit, and stargazed in the backyard. We cooked gourmet meals with the fully equipped kitchen and the propane and charcoal grills. We explored the trails around the property, walked across the high bridge, and went to the Farmville farmers market. The owner went above and beyond to make our stay truly memorable - including delivering a brand new cornhole set when we asked if one was available. The Spring Creek cabin provides a wonderful mix of seclusion and entertainment. The cabin is fully-equipped, with almost every conceivable kitchen appliance and gadget, spices, oils, ziploc bags, paper towels, soaps, etc. Thank you, we hope to come back and stay longer next time!

College Graduation

This was a wonderful property to celebrate our daughters graduation from Longwood University. The family enjoyed the games and outdoor space. There was plenty of room for everyone and it was well stocked. Jim was very helpful and quick to respond.

Wish we had more time

We stayed at the property the weekend of my daughter's wedding. There wasn't alot of time to relax and this was the definitely the place for it. Our family loved the property and wish we had more time there. The only thing that I will say to renters is that you aren't going to have food delivery so plan ahead. The owner was absolutely professional and had everything well communicated!

Great cabin, away from noise, and furnished with plenty of "items" to make your stay complete.

The cabin is beautiful and remote - disconnect from technology - a great place to get away with family or friends. The cabin is very well stocked with paper products, kitchen products (spices, coffee, baggies, foil, etc), records, games, puzzles, firewood, towels, and cleaning products. Plenty of room for big groups to gather. The only negative I have to say is the actual number it can sleep and the rise of the steps and railings. The capacity claims it sleeps 10, which I would agree if you have couples or kids. Our group was 8 ladies. Two drew the short straw and ended up sharing the king bed. The stairs going upstairs and downstairs have an extra large "rise". I see this as a problem for older people and young kids. The railings are also a little higher in proportion to steps. All in all, we would book this cabin again!

Renters seem to find a variety of things to enjoy about the place. I put considerable sweat equity into building the cabin and am very biased so perhaps reading the reviews may give you a more balanced view. I would encourage you to read the 3 four star ratings our of 100 five star ratings and I think you will see why.
