Unique, fun property with magnificent views!

We had a group of six adults for the weekend to celebrate a milestone birthday. The location was perfect for us since we had reservations at a few high-end spots in Venice Beach and Beverly Hills. We spent our downtime lounging in the pool during the day or propped up on the circular bed in front of the floor to ceiling windows taking in the views of Hollywood and surrounding areas. You can see for miles! The home is older and had a musty smell when we first entered and the wine glasses and dishes were dirty, but we simply washed them and still thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Lots of stairs, so the elevator was much appreciated. The host promptly answered questions and checked in with us via text to see how our stay was going. I would definitely book this property again.

Hollywood A-List Property

We lodged at this property for a long weekend to enjoy activities in and around LA/Hollywood. One of the most spectacular features of the property is the view of the city. We enjoyed the ambiance of the whole home and the layout allowed for plenty of privacy. We took advantage of the pool and ping-pong table for entertainment. The property is acurrately described, but the pictures don't do justice. Would stay again!

Amazing and private oasis at the top of Hollywood Hills

Amazing four-story home with plenty of rooms and plenty of things to do for everybody. Great pool and hot tub and everything is completely private. No worries of anybody with binoculars or anything like that! Amazing kitchen with a beautiful dining room that you can enjoy eating at while you’re glaring at epic views of Los Angeles below you And it’s just a quick 10 minutes to the strip in Hollywood where there is amazing dining and fun things to do. This is actually perfect for a couples, but I would bring my family here to there’s things to do for the kids.

Stunning and Inspirational

This home was absolutely delightful. It is artistically designed and very inspirational. I was able to escape the hustle and bustle of LA anytime of day to bathe in the heated pool and spa, cook in the wonderful kitchen, or have any service I can imagine brought right to my door. Oh how I love Los Angeles, and even more so when I stay at the Villa in the Sky. I will return. Hopefully soon!

Hollywood Hills/ Hollywood Bowl Weekender

We schedule a guy's weekend every year or so to get out of town with our group. It has become a tradition with an unspoken competition on "who is able to find the coolest place to stay". I searched several properties with the Hollywood Bowl as a focus since we were attending an event there. Having come across this property on VRBO, I reached out with some questions to the property manager. He was prompt in getting back to me. He was clear in responses and very conversational. I booked with the hopes of this being a knock-out of a surprise for my friends! Let me tell you, even I was amazed at this beautiful house. All if us, mid-50s buddies were walking floor to floor with jaws dropped at what this property offered. 4 stories of AMAZING! Plenty of room to congregate as well as individual areas to retreat when it was time for solitude. The house manager was immediately available when we needed information. We even had the pleasure of meeting the owner. Who would have thought such an accomplished person would be so earnestly humble! Such a great human being! Our stay was perfect. Just minutes from Sunset and the strip. Just a mile or so to the Bowl. And unmatched hilltop views. Incredible. I would sefinitely recommend this spot as a worthy splurge for a Hollywood Get Away. We will be back!

Great stay and location

The home is just stunning, and had the best views LA has to offer. Despite being in the hills, it's really easy to get in and out of the area, with plenty of parking. The space was massive, and had the 4 bedrooms, and 2 additional beds if needed. The ping pong table was a bonus, as was the pool and spa (heated!) Great space, would stay again for sure

Hollywood Hills!!!

Beautiful place with a TON of character and unbeatable views of the LA basin; would highly recommend for family getaways! The only reason neighborhood got 4 vs. 5 was getting up to the house is a series of narrow, winding roads but everyone using them is generally very good about going slowly / with caution. Loved it!!

Secluded in the middle of Hollywood

Fantastic and quirky property perfect for a small group. The views of LA were amazing and the property itself felt secluded like you were the only people around...even though you were minutes from Hollywood and activities. Pull was perfect and the layout kept bedrooms secluded from common areas so if, like us, you have people sleeping while others are cooking, swimming, and chatting both got what they needed. Great communication from the property manager. We didn't have any issues or problems but they were proactive in reaching out just to check in.

Great Location and Structure—Negligently Kept up.

This is a beautiful home with eclectic and lovely decor. Unfortunately it is seriously under-maintained. Outdoor patio lacks lounge chairs and has ancient tired chair cushions. The daybed is grossly damp and dirty. The bbq is rusty, dirty and doesn’t work. Old faded fake plants hang randomly. Basically the outdoor area has been neglected and it shows as well as being not very comfortable for relaxing. Indoors, the front of house windows and French doors were all locked. So no fresh air in any bedroom and no ability to create a cross breeze in the living room or kitchen. Air conditioning consists of a few fans. With temperatures in the 90s and high 80s and no window shutters or drapes we suffocated. It was increasingly hot in the house and we left a day early, exhausted and disappointed. The house furniture is full of lovely fabrics and Persian carpets. There are lots of antique pieces. But there is a strong mustiness to the air. Many drawers and cupboards were dusty. We would recommend a really thorough deep clean of this house , including all fabrics and rugs. We would recommend an experienced team clean after each guest - a day minimum, it’s a huge house. The outdoor area requires serious attention, all aspects, it is not a luxury experience out there. We’ve written a long review because there is so much potential in this beautiful property. Please give it a dedicated no holds barred clean up and upgrade of old, broken tired furniture and equipment. And we must acknowledge how approachable and helpful Bruno, property manager was with us. He was great. But most is not within his authority to change we understand.

Your own castle in Hollywood

This is a LOVELY and unique stay that is great for families or small groups, with plenty of shared spaces and also opportunities for privacy. Art and collectibles fill every corner--even a Picasso print in the smallest bathroom!--so photographers will want to capture the house from every angle. (But you will also want to treat this home with care!) The pool and spa were flawless, and the grill master in our group cooked up a great meal on the grill. Would highly recommend!!!

We had a lovely stay at this great house! All beds were comfortable and you just can’t beat the view or the pool deck and hot tub. The pool got sun all day and that is where we spent a good chunk of our stay. Responsive host!

Spectacular views

You stay here for the views first and foremost but you also get a mansion of a house with its own elevator along with a very inviting pool and heated SPA. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here!

Relaxing staycation

James was so available and helpful we couldn’t have had a better time. A couple times we needed to call on him to help get the music back on and he was fast to show and so kind. We relaxed in the jacuzzi, ogled the view, found a HIDDEN ROOM, and sipped on wine and relaxed the week away. The kitchen was spacious and stocked. We were able to cook a nice big dinner on the last night. There are so many fun rooms and found items around the property you will not be disappointed! I would highly recommend this place to rent if you want to see LA from an unbelievable angle and lounge around in a place chock full of character. 10/10

An absolutely beautiful stay

The pictures don’t do the property justice, it really is stunning and the view is beautiful as well. My friends and I stayed here and we had a great time. The property owner lives next door and he was very helpful when I left my wallet in the house after our stay. This is a property you really need to see to believe, I was not expecting it to be this cool. The only thing I would recommend is more toilet paper & towels. We ran out (maybe we just couldn’t find it the extra)

You may have heard nightmares about the traffic in LA, that will not be an issue as everything worth doing is right in this area. As you ascend the drive to this villa in the sky you will feel your everyday worries falling away, when the door opens you will know you are home in the house you always dreamed of...if only for the night.

This house is a deal closer. If you are looking to wow your future partner, meet the women of your dreams, or fall in love again with the one that you have...and you can't get it done here, then you are not going to be able to get it done. People come to stay the weekend...and leave a year later...and the only complaint was that they had to leave too soon.
