This beautifully-updated, Ranch-style home is the luxury version of your family's cabin in the woods. Tucked away in this peaceful location, you'll be treated to fine wood touches throughout the house, private outdoor space, and above-and-beyond hospitality. The spacious open living area boasts a vaulted ceiling, lavish full kitchen, and a custom, wood-burning fireplace that can be enjoyed inside or from the kitchen patio. Your gracious hosts provide an abundance of extras such as wood for the fireplace and fire pit, pantry staples as well as cooking oil and spices, and a seasonal Cornhole set. With an on-site washer and dryer, you'll barely need to pack anything!

In the outdoor space, you'll find a state of the art outdoor kitchen with a built-in gas grill, ample counter space, and sink so you can host a first-class cookout with a forest and garden view. As evening falls, gather around the fire pit of your choice (wood-burning or propane) and recap the day - a story you'll be telling for years.

This location is a 10-minute drive to downtown Felton and 20-minutes to Santa Cruz. Felton is a cozy small town located in the redwoods with various outdoor activities including Mount Hermon, Roaring Camp Railroad, Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park, Fall Creek Wilderness Trails, and UCSC Mountain Biking Trails which is next to Wilder Ranch. Humble Sea Brewing, Sushi San, and Redwood Pizza are some of the highlighted restaurants in Felton as well as Casa Nostra in Ben Lomond. Fantastic local grocery store Wild Roots.

GUEST ACCESS:
You will have full and private access to main home, outdoor spaces, and driveway for parking. There is an attached garage and living space above that are not included in this listing. There will be an on-site manager to assist with any urgent items or requests.

INTERACTION WITH GUESTS:
The on-site managers, Jenni and Ryan, are there to assist you during your stay. No need to worry, Jenni and Ryan are friendly and are there to provide a higher level of customer service.

Family trip

We enjoyed three nights at this beautiful property while we visited Henry Cowell State Park, Santa Cruz, Pinnacles National Park and San Jose. Best house I’ve ever rented

Everything you see in the photos is absolutely accurate. It’s gorgeous, VERY clean, the most well appointed kitchen ever (no need to bring your knife sharpener), towels are great, beds are comfy. The host contact is fantastic! She’s very communicative in a relaxed way. I felt like I could text if I needed anything and she was great to talk to. Very thankful for this experience and will recommend to anyone who will listen!

We had such a wonderful experience staying in this home. It is truly beautiful- inside and out :) My 3 year-old grandson had a blast running around the property. We would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend.

Darling house in the woods

The house was so clean and very welcoming to walk into. The kitchen was well equipped and the outside kitchen and grill was awesome. We used the fire pit and the corn hole set. The mattresses were good and we 10/10 would stay there again!

Beautiful home tucked away in the redwoods

This home was gorgeous, updated, with comfortable beds and very well appointed with everything we needed. We loved sitting by the outdoor fire pit while the kids explored the backyard. The on-site manager was super quick to respond and lovely. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful house in the woods

My family wanted a weekend away together before my fiance and I get married & my brother & his wife have their first child and this was a perfect location / house! The house feels remote, but is close to Santa Cruz for the beach as well as to some amazing state parks for hiking. Jenni was a great communicator - proactively letting us know where to park, best way to drive to the house, and how to ensure the house stayed cool. We had a great time together and it was a perfect stay. Thank you so much for hosting us!

Beautiful house. Very well appointed. Nice, quiet neighborhood and very usable outdoor space. Fenced in area for your dog. Nice, comfortable furniture. Property management team is very responsive and helpful. Easy check-in process, very clear instructions. No complex or time consuming checkout requirements. Will 100% stay again.

Wonderful get away in the forest

Three friends popped away to Felton for a girl's weekend and this was a perfect spot. The home was updated and comfy. It was surrounded by redwoods and felt peacefully isolated, but it was not so far out that it felt unsafe. It also had wonderful natural light and great touches throughout the home. The hists thought of everything. We were quite happy with the home.

Spectacular in every way!

In a word, it was perfect! The home is lovely and has everything you could need, the co-host on property is responsive and kind, and the location is superb. If you are driving down from northern CA, the one pro tip is to remember to follow the directions given from the host before your stay. If you forget like us, you will drive through some very lovely, but VERY tricky to navigate, terrain. All their local suggestions are great, and we enjoyed our holidays in this wonderful home so very much!

A wonderful stay among the Redwoods

Our family of four adults loved our stay. The house provided a most comfortable stay for all of us. It is well equipped and the description is accurate. We had some very rainy days with cool temperatures so didn’t get to use the outdoor kitchen and seating area. But we were snug inside enjoying everything about the interior. When it wasn’t raining we explored some of the numerous redwood hiking trails nearby. The on-site manager is an excellent communicator and responded promptly to any question we had. This is a wonderful place to stay.

Hottest Weekend Not That Bad

Very nice house in the redwoods. Dog friendly with dog bowls and cute beds. When I saw that there was a heat and fire warning with temps in the high 90s (July 4th weekend, 2024), I messaged the host that we had a problem with no AC. The owner said nobody in the Santa Cruz mountains has AC, as it's never been needed. This was the hottest weekend in the four years the owner has had the property. The wonderful on-site hosts, Jeni & Ryan, closed all the shades and got out the box fans for us. When it would start to cool off around 5 or 6 pm, we'd open the windows and put the fans in them for the 60 degree night. That cooldown would last until around noon the next day. So it was really only uncomfortable from noon to 6 or 7 pm. My in-laws rebooked their hotel with AC instead of joining us, due to the heat and their age, but I think they would have been okay. The shade of the redwoods helps a lot. The skylight in the great room has no shade and heated the house up the most. But there's also a huge ceiling fan in the great room. Climate change sucks, but being in a shady redwood forest is the best you can do without AC, which harms the ozone layer. Fantastic house, very comfy bed, would stay there again.

Perfect family retreat!

Hi there! My name is Mario. My wife and I (and our Labrador Penny) have decided to change our lifestyle and move to Baja California Sur for a large portion of the year to pursue a new career. In doing so, we have decided to turn our wonderful home in Felton into a vacation rental while we are away. Although we are not close by, rest assured, we have wonderful friendly local hosts to attend to your requests and desires! We love the outdoors and this property has immersed us in that lifestyle. Though we miss it tremendously, we hope you see the magic and enjoy all the amenities this home offers.

With this property, you will get the peaceful seclusion we all desire, yet will still be close to downtown Felton and Santa Cruz. This area has so many unique experiences to offer, so you will not be disappointed. The home itself has been fully remodeled to provide a modern mountain escape experience. The neighborhood is quiet and friendly which is located over a historical bridge spanning Zayante Creek. Sleep at night in complete serenity and get the well deserved "recharge" that we all desire.

Enjoy the inside/outside fireplace which includes one compartment full of firewood to be used in the fireplace, or the seasonal outdoor fire-pit in the back yard. Proceed at your own risk, there are hiking trails behind the house which follow the old railroad grade from the early 1900's. Utilize the outdoor kitchen during the warmer months to host friends and family for an outdoor experience you won't forget. The kitchen patio includes a full kitchen, propane fire-pit, and outdoor WiFi-controlled speakers (during dry season). Also provided is a seasonal Corn Hole set to help maintain your backyard game skills.
