Salinas Park, with a playground, grilling pavilion, and scenic pier, is only five miles away. The quaint towns of Port St. Joe and Apalachicola are each within a 20-mile drive.

The octagon shape of the house for us was interesting. Everything is compact but still all you need for a short stay. Maybe add a couple of recliners in the living area for more comfort.

We were really excited about our stay at this property—the location is fantastic, just a very short walk to the beach, which was a huge plus. The layout of the home is also great and it truly has a lot of potential.That said, we encountered several maintenance issues that unfortunately made our stay less enjoyable:•The front door was broken upon arrival (we submitted a maintenance ticket, but it was never addressed).•The water never got hot during our stay.•The master bathroom sink didn’t drain properly and the lights did not work. •The lights in the master bedroom didn’t work.•The shower door and sliding door to the deck were very difficult to open/close.•The cabinet handle in the master (below the TV) was broken.•Trim throughout the house was damaged when we arrived (we took photos).We communicated some of these issues via text, which was a convenient method, and the company did thank us for reaching out. However, we never received an apology or any follow-up—now even weeks later—which left us disappointed in the level of customer service.We don’t usually leave negative reviews, but we felt this was important to share so other renters know what to expect, and so the management company has an opportunity to make improvements. With better maintenance and responsiveness, this property could be a really great rental.

Loved this cute little place!

This is an old beach house. The floors did not bother me but I could see that around the baseboards could be cleaned up a little, and the stairs carpet could be cleaned, but aside from that, this place was VERY CLEAN.This kitchen is not made for more than one person, but I expected that. For 3 adults & 1child, it was perfect. Had all you would need to cook. Had a broom, several hand towels. There is not a typical kitchen table, but the half moon looking counter over the stairs has hinges to flip it over & use as a table if needed. Bathrooms very clean. Washer and dryer seemed new. Beds were so comfy. Wish the couch was bigger but plenty of seating with the chairs. Bedrooms bigger than expected. Screened patio was nice! AC works like a charm! The stairs outside did seem a weak in spots. I would not stay here if you have young kids. The steps inside would scare me for little kids. There was a little musty smell like a smoker lived there years ago. Overall it was perfect for what we paid and will be returning!

The potential is there ….

I’m not typically someone who leaves negative reviews, but I do believe in providing honest feedback—especially when a property has so much potential, as this one does. First, the positives: the location truly can’t be beat. It’s just a very short walk to the beach, which we loved. The convenience of texting with the rental company was also appreciated—it made communication easy and accessible throughout our stay. That said, there were several maintenance issues that impacted our experience. Upon arrival, we noticed the front door was broken and submitted a maintenance ticket right away, but unfortunately, it was never addressed. Because of that, we delayed reporting other issues, but want to share them now to avoid any misunderstanding: The water never got hot throughout the stay. The master bathroom sink did not drain properly. The shower door in the master and the sliding door to the covered deck were extremely difficult to operate. The handle on the cabinet in the master bedroom below the TV was broken. Trim throughout the house was damaged upon arrival (we took photos). The lights in the master bedroom didn’t work. No apologies were offered for these issues, although the company did thank us for letting them know when we texted them later in the stay. We want to be clear that all of these issues were present when we arrived and hope the property management team ensures they are not mistakenly attributed to us. This house really does have a lot of potential—it’s in a great location and has a nice layout. With a bit more attention to maintenance and customer care, it could be a fantastic vacation rental.

Not the best experience

1. Dirty dishes in sink 2. Washer broken. Known issue as review on booking. Com for same property dated Oct, 8, 2023 stated same problem 3. Wi-Fi not available. Known issue same as above, mentioned in October review 4. Multiple attempts by me to communicate with Vacasa customer service resulted in multiple promises and no results 5. I was told by Vacasa customer service that "local management" would contact me about issues and I have not been contacted

Bug Hotel with no working amenities

Dealt with an infestation of cockroaches trying to get in my groceries, spiders, crickets, fruit flies etc all week. Literally were talking dozens of instances. I have over a dozen photos. Was pre-charged an cleaning fee and stayed in a disgusting bug house, absolutely ridiculous. The extra fees with VRBO are out of hand, I payed like almost the same amount in extra fees as I did for my rent. The WiFi didn’t work for even a moment in 7 days, the dishes were filthy and the dishwasher also did not work. Pretty awful experience and for sure my last time doing short term rentals in someone’s home. Hotels at least take pride in giving you a clean room and working amenities. I was told by an exterminator that came by that he services 200 Vacasa rental properties in the area, and this home owner refused regular service. He had never been to that location even once. Why would I want to stay at someone’s property who doesn’t even take enough pride in it to keep it free of pests? Bad experience.
