Welcome to my home Leucadia! When I’m traveling, I rent out my house and live here part time.
Set back in a peaceful neighborhood 10 minutes walking distance from Moonlight beach, downtown Encinitas, and tons of great restaurants along the 101.
Get the best of North County San Diego 12 minutes to Moonlight Beach. Tesla EV hookup (Tesla 3 available for rent on Turo).
I've lived in San Diego for 10 years and many local recommendations tailored to your needs.
When I’m not traveling I live in the space. I love to cook and host - the kitchen is stocked with lots of platters, cookware, and cooking tools in the kitchen island. There's an additional fridge in the garage if needed.
Your beach adventures will be complete with 2 boogie boards, a Wavestorm surfboard, Turkish towels, beach chairs and umbrellas, beach toys, and a collapsable beach wagon. The backyard has an outdoor shower which you are welcome to use, it has plenty of hot water and is great for washing off. Please as best you can wash off with either the shower or hose in the back before entering the home if you've gone to the beach.
I have a lovely garden that's there for you to enjoy. There are 3 avocado trees, 2 fig trees, 2 types of oranges, a Meyer lemon tree behind the sound wall, golden raspberries, blackberries, loquats, guava, limes, and passion fruit vines around the property which you are more than welcome to pick and enjoy! I also have planted herbs which you can pick.
Inside my home is colorful and full of plants and artwork. My kitchen has everything for a home cooked meal and a charcoal barbecue for use. The property features indoor/outdoor living and cute nooks to tuck away in - patio furniture in the front and backyards as well as 2 double egg basket chairs to lounge in. An outdoor heater is featured for use on the back patio as well as a portable gas firepit.
My home is charming and cozy while still being able to host comfortably. I have a pack and play, high chair, and baby bath tub for little ones. I also have a rainy day kit for the kiddos - coloring books, games, and a light up karaoke microphone.
Extra Pendleton fleece blankets, Ralph Lauren cotton waffle blankets, and Brooklinen robes for each guest.
I share a driveway with my sweet neighbors, Moe and Linda. Often they'll have extra produce from their garden to share.

You'll have access to the entire house, patio, and backyard during your stay. Please enjoy any of the fruit or veggies that are ripe and available for picking.

Many hiking trails can be found along the beach and many beaches allow gas fires (I have a portable gas fire pit for use).
Within 30 minutes: Craft beer overflows in San Diego with over 120 different breweries at 180 sites.

I won't be present but will respond quickly to any questions you have. I'll do my best to accommodate any requests made prior to your stay.
Encinitas/Leucadia is a quaint neighborhood in North County San Diego. Be sure to check out all the dining spots on the 101 that I've listed in the guidebook - I have an extensive list of my favorite local restaurants, bars, and beaches.
Parking is limited downtown, I generally walk to the 101 but if you're going to the beach, there's close parking on the street. Ubers and Lyfts are readily available as well, and the Encinitas train stop is also walkable and has parking if you're looking to explore other local neighborhoods or are trying to go downtown.
Driveway to house is steep but plenty of parking at the bottom.
Possible highway noise: the 5 is visible from the backyard and some construction is happening at night. Each room has an air filter that has fan features for white noise. When the house is closed up it's relatively quiet but know that when the windows/doors are open there will be some static noise from the highway. The backyard also is a little louder but has a sound wall to stifle some of the noise. The front yard is quieter but you may hear my neighbors up above and their kids playing.
We recommend travel insurance for all guests, but it is not required.
For Self Check-in:
We require a copy of a government-issued ID of all guests (passport, driver's license, state ID, etc.) sent in the Airbnb chat.
The booking guest will be fully responsible for all additional guests. By doing the self-check-in, the booking guest hereby certifies that they are staying at the property and that it is not a third-party booking.
We require a written response in the Airbnb chat to agree to the house rules.
Once the three conditions above are met, the guest will receive code credentials to enter the home on check-in day. If the guest does not comply, there is a possibility that they will not be allowed in the house and will not receive a refund.
Local laws require we record the names of all guests included in this registration. It may require Airbnb account creation in order to have all guests included in the reservation. This applies to all guest 18 years and older. You must register and add all guest names 2 weeks prior to check-in (or at time of reservation if reservation is made less than 2 weeks in advance). All guests must be on the reservation at least 48 hours prior to the start of your reservation. If changes to your guest list occur, please update this in the app within 24 hours of the change. Compliance with this policy is required for us to operate legally. Please help us stay in compliance by cooperating and providing guest names as requested. Failure to do so will result in a cancelation of your booking with no eligibility for a refund of any used or unused portion of your stay.
Early check in/late check out will be accommodated when possible. Late checkouts after 11am will incur a $100/hour late fee.
Any house damage will result in a $500 fee.
A reminder that California is almost always in a drought. Water costs recently increased by 9% to encourage water conservation. I will receive alerts on the water system if there is excessive use, which will generate a $100 fee per alert.
Smoking/vaping is not permitted inside but ashtrays will be available on the front patio and back yard seating area. There are asthma issues which smoking contributes in aggravating this condition. Any smoking/vaping inside the house will result in a $500 fee. Please be sure to empty these before you leave if they are used.
If you have pets staying, they are not to be left alone in the house unmonitored. Please be sure to pick up any poop and dispose of it in the trash bins at the top of the driveway before you depart. Any pet damage will result in a $250 fee. Additional unannounced pets not added to the listing prior to the start of the booking will incur a $100 fee.
No parties or events are permitted on premises.
Before you enter the house after a trip to the beach, please go around to the backyard outdoor shower and rinse off yourself as well as any beach equipment used.
To help us monitor your compliance with our house rules, we use a signal detection sensor in our home that will send us reports regarding the total number of devices in our home at any one time. We will not receive any personal information in these reports or even any information about any one individual device.
Please start the dishwasher before you leave if you have any dirty dishes you've used.
For the ebikes:
Guest's Responsibility: The Guest agrees to use the eBikes in a safe and responsible manner, comply with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations related to eBike use, and operate the eBikes within their physical capabilities. The Guest further agrees to properly secure the eBikes when not in use and to immediately report any damage, malfunction, or loss of the eBikes to the Host.
Compliance with Airbnb Policies: The Guest acknowledges and agrees to comply with all applicable Airbnb policies, including the Airbnb Guest Refund Policy and the Airbnb Terms of Service. Any disputes arising from the rental or use of the eBikes shall be subject to the resolution mechanisms provided by Airbnb.

The house is a 12 minute walk to Moonlight Beach, a popular spot in Encinitas. The neighborhood is quiet and has a park near the elementary school, where the Leucadia Farmer's Market is hosted on Sunday's from 10am-2pm.
