December Visit

The trip began with a phone call advising the house would not be ready for a 4pm check-in as was advertised in the listing. That being said, the local contact was very quick to give updates and we were able to check in after 5 pm. The house provided plenty of room to spread out and close to many of the beaches, and Polynesian Cultural Center. Biggest complaint was the whole house was prone to ants. Ants were everywhere along the baseboards, cabinets, and floors. Bedroom, or kitchen, or bath it didn’t matter. We were hyper vigilant about dropped food but those little ants found every crumb of food dropped. At least they didn’t bite us. Bathroom tiles were loose and missing grout in some places. The whole house could use some maintenance and updates. But overall it was okay.

Hawaii Trip

Everything was great except the work done by a very rude handyman. We were told it was going to be one day to replace an old rain gutter. That ended up be one two full days. Took over the whole front yard with tools and our parking area. Took lunch on our porch like they owned it and talked loudly in a foreign language for over an hour until i asked them to please not be there. We couldn’t watch TV because it was so loud. I feel we didn’t even have a say to if they could be there and were mislead as to how long. We paid for seven days and only could enjoy it for five in my opinion and it was stressful dealing with the indifferent handyman. I feel he said whatever he thought I wanted to hear and did the opposite, or it was a language barrier. Im sure I’m not the only one who would strongly feel this should have been scheduled when no one is there. That’s what we paid for a relaxing experience. Besides a lot of ants in kitchen and master bedroom everything else was great. I’m from Hawaii so I know Ants are an issue in the tropics but I’ve been in many houses that are able to keep it in control. I gave communication with host four stars only because we were told one day for work to be done and it ended up being two. Besides that Colleen was amazing and very apologetic about everything that happened. Even invited us over to her place. So I have no issue with her it’s more to the owners that scheduled the work. They should know better and that review is for them. Partial refund?!

Family vacation

The only thing good about this property is the kitchen, it seems to be newly remodeled and has everything you need to cook. The view of the ocean from upstairs window is beautiful, but the beach across the street not desirable. Upon arrival there was No where to park. The garage is very hard to get into and you can’t park in the driveway because it’s shared with another house. The street is the only other option and it’s a very busy. The house next door is abandoned and boarded up. There was a man staying in it that wondered around. The bedroom upstairs has its own bathroom where there was a bucket to catch the dripping water from under the open sink and the shower only had half pressure because the spout is broken to turn it from bath to shower. Ultimately for the price I don’t feel like it was worth the money.
