Our "Duplex in Historic East Bench" is a newly renovated apartment in the popular Brick Yard/Sugarhouse area. It features a brand-new kitchen, 2 large bedrooms with queen beds, a spacious living room, and off-street parking. The private space has a Zen, clean, and artistic theme, and includes a ski/work setup, a dining area/work area, and on-site laundry. It is the perfect place to stay for those visiting Salt Lake City for business or pleasure
The space
Please note that this is the bottom level of an over/under Duplex apartment and not a shared space. It is an older building, so at times, you may hear some noises from above you, similar to a hotel. However, we have quiet hours from 09PM-8AM, and you can reach out to your host if you have any issues.
You will have your own private entrance, assigned parking area, 2 bedrooms with queen beds, a great living area with lots of natural light, a newly remodeled kitchen, a dining area, and a great work desk for your laptop and coffee mug! The theme of this listing is very Zen, clean, and artistic.
More than makes this place great:

• 1 minute to I-80 East (.7miles)
• Coffee shops, fast foods, fine dining, bars, and everything else are within walking distance.
• 6 World Class Ski Resorts within a 25-45 minute drive.
• Tons of hiking areas nearby
• U of U Health Sugar House Health Center
• Sugarhouse Park .7miles away
• Salt Lake Airport- 12 minutes away!
• Downtown SLC 10 Minutes away!

Other things to note
This is an instant book property, and last-minute bookings are welcome. However, locals must message first. The property is self-check-in and has smart locks and wifi cameras to make it secure and tech-savvy. It also has its own furnace system and fast fiber WIFI for remote working.
You will have access to the entire downstairs apartment unit. There is another unit above you, completely separate from your space. No shared areas other than the outside parking area and the shared laundry area. Please note that access to the common laundry service area through a locked back entrance may be available upon request only.
We have installed exterior security cameras for the safety of our property and for peace of mind. Please be aware that these motion activated cameras are always on and we do check on them for guest count. This is a wonderful place to stay but is not a place to party.
Utah is a high desert climate and as such there are house ants, occasional harmless spiders, or Box Elder bugs that are usually seen more during seasonal changes such as going from winter to spring or vice versa. As responsible hosts, we have agreed to a pest control contract with Uintah Pest Control to service all our properties. Sightings are rare, but are possible. An occasional sighting is not considered a reflection of the cleanliness of the property.
House Rules:
1) LOCALS MUST MESSAGE US BEFORE BOOKING.
2) Occupancy limits: We do not allow more than 5 guests in this listing or on the property at any time, violation of which will result in the removal of all guests from the property immediately without refund. You also agree to pay for the "additional guest fee" associated with your reservation if applicable (just because it can sleep up to 5 doesn’t mean it's all included in the nightly rate. You understand that the listing has 2 bedrooms with king beds and the couch in the living area can be used as a sleeper. Any alteration that shortens the duration or guest count after your initial booking will be subject to 50% of the daily rate for this alteration. Just because it allows 5 people in the unit, the rate you pay may be higher depending on the guest count so any alteration may alter the rate (see “additional prices” on our listing)
3) This is a self-check-in property: You certify that you are willing and able to follow the instructions that are being provided by VRBO through the house manual or check-in guide. You can find our house manual and check-in guide here on the VRBO platform on our listing.
4) Fees: There is a $200 per day fee for every day of your booking if it is found that you have been smoking on the property. There is a $50 LATE CHECKOUT FEE if you are there longer than you have been authorized as our housekeeper charges us in such a case. You further agree to compensate the host/co-host in full for any financial loss that is suffered as a result of breaking the rules set forth.
5) You authorize a fee of $50 per pet, per stay if you bring a pet with authorization or disclose at the time of making your reservation. and If you bring a pet without pre-authorization or additional pets you hereby authorize us to charge an additional $50/stay fee for each additional pet. If you have a service animal we are 100% compliant with these laws but you are still asked to inform us AHEAD OF TIME OR IT WILL BE CONSIDERED A PET, that one will be coming and you are still responsible for all cleaning and/or damage to occurs as a result of the animal. No dogs on furniture ever and no dogs allowed in any carpets areas. Dogs must remain on hard surfaces floor only and must be crated at night.
5) Quiet Hours are after 09 pm-8 am. Please be aware that you are above a basement lower unit, and you may hear them citing your stay, similar to a hotel, condo, or apartment and they can likely all hear you the same. Please be mindful of others. - Please remove shoes/boots before entering the unit. SKI Equipment in the unit must be cleaned and kept in our appropriate area entry closet. - If there are any signs of illegal drugs or smoking you will pay a minimum fee of $250
6) Alterations/Changes: Once you have confirmed your booking, any modifications to the dates or guest count may be treated as a cancellation and therefore be subject to the cancellation policy. The host retains the right to charge for lost dates you have removed with an alteration of at least a partial amount to the discretion of the host.
