Artist and owner inspired cottage, featured in magazines and YouTube, is situated on 27 beautiful acres in Oregon's Columbia gorge and wine country. Dragonfly knoll is a custom built cottage by the owner and in collaboration with architects Archer and Buchanan, inspired by JRR Tolkien. Cottage is made of local basalt boulder and structural timber framing. Beautiful custom detailing throughout. Guests get to rent the entire home on 27 acres of private pristine land.
Curl up in the cosy 1 bedroom bednook with a Tolkien book or sip coffee or tea on the custom veranda overlooking a 1 acre pond. You'll see local wildlife regularly, deer, dragonfly, bunnies and wild turkey. Soak outside in the deep cedar barrel hot tub and gaze up at the milkyway at night or during the day listen to the local wildlife.
Local hiking, winery's and famous Columbia River water sports such as kite boarding and windsurfing in Mosier and the fun town of Hood River Oregon, just 15 minutes from the cottage. In summer enjoy local you-pick cherries and in winter skiing in Mt Hood ski resorts 40 minutes away.
The owner is an artist and musician and pride's herself on providing a unique and artistic approach to your stay. See if you can find all the dragons in the home. She encourages guests to create during their stay. Guests are encouraged to do art, like drawing, writing poetry or photography.
