Perfect quiet getaway !
Great open view beach house. Quiet location but quick bike ride or drive to shopping. Absolutely the greatest beach with warm water! Lots of bald eagles on the beach everyday! Mega sunset every night ! Two days of rain in 60 days !

Overall we loved the house, the view, and the beach. We would love to return. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Liked: This property is located in a quiet neighborhood and the vista of the ocean is spectacular. There were numerous grand sunrises and tranquil sunsets. Being ocean front one got to witness a lot of sea life (seals, whales, otters) and many birds of all kinds from Robins, Canadian geese, Eagles and multiple kinds of seagulls. One night we had a creature walk right past the windows. It had the markings/long tail of an Elakha, member of the otter family. It was around three and a half feet long. The house had lots of room for the two of us to spread out our hobbies of painting and quilting. The artist nook off the primary bedroom is one of the reasons we rented the property. This is a pet friendly home. We have no dogs so the slight animal odors took a little getting used to. Running the furnace fan continuously helped. There are lots of dishes, glasses, mugs, pots and pans (but could use a new set because the lack of lids). Nice to have a coffee maker and a Keurig. We made use of the filtered water jug as the tap water had lots of chlorine. Things we did: We took a watercolor and ink painting course at TOSH (The Old School House gallery) in Qualicum Beach. This has to be booked well in advance of you trip as their many classes always sell out. We traveled 35 minutes north to Buckley Bay, then ferried to Denman Island and then to Hornby Island to go to the secluded Helliwell Provincial Park. There is no picnic area but we packed a lunch and ate at the parking lot then walked the 2 hour forest trails and cliffs along the ocean. Amazing views. Great places we ate were The Black Bird Schnitzel House in Qualicum Beach and Final Approach Restaurant at the Qualicum Airport. Disliked: This house is needs TLC. The wall oven LED digital face was unreadable. The bottom rack of the older dishwasher needs replacing. The coating is worn off and is causing rust stains on the back of the dishes. The kitchen nook glass ceiling has been leaking water and has caused damag

A fabulous stay at Columbia Beach! A perfect spot to isolate in Covid19 for two months! This home is well equipped and very comfortable! We had minor issues that were dealt with promptly by Yvonne! A great ambassador for this property! I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Disappointed that the fence was not repaired until just before we left so our small dog was not able to use the yard.The wall oven was problematic and needs to be replaced and the carpet in the living room was very stained and also needs to be replaced. Lots of dishes and utensils but a few more pots would be nice. The sectional in the living room is showing it's age as well as the patio furniture. A few coasters would be good in the living room. Kudos to Yvonne and her staff as well as Diane and Brad the gardeners.

The location of this home is spectacular, the beach life is ever changing with the tides! The home is spacious, well appointed, and a great destination for people wanting to explore the mid island.The house was clean, new king bed in master suite and all the towels and amenities you could need. We had a couple of issues and they were dealt with immediately by Yvonne, an excellent greeter. This home is in a lovely safe neighbour hood and very quiet, no traffic noise! The only sounds we hear are the birds and sea lions barking!

Reviewer Comments: We have stayed with family at The Columbia Beach House previously and we’re looking so forward to another family holiday this year in Parksville. One Brother now lives in Parksville so my other Brother & his wife rented a place and we rented Columbia Beach House to spend a month visiting. With the Covid situation and travel not recommended my brother was able to get his money back for their rental however we were not able to get a refund from EMR so decided we would go and keep our footprint in the area very small. As a result we filled our time with walks, hikes, cards and relaxation. We were thrilled to have the Orca Whales spend 3+ hours right out in front of the house one afternoon. We enjoyed exploring the beachfront in front of the house and watching others enjoy it too while walking along with their kids and/or dogs. The house is beautifully located on a quiet street with a beautiful front view of the Strait of Georgia. We are so fortunate to have spent time there over the past few years and sorry the property is not going to be available in the future. The house was well stocked with kitchen dishes and cooking needs, towels and bedding.

Beautiful location
Though this house needed some upgrades, it’s location exceeded its expectations. Excellent space and set up for our dog, which meant a lot to us after dragging him half way across the country.

March 2020 Stay
We could not have chosen a better week to stay at Columbia Beach House. Our two children, their spouses, and two grandchildren made up the party of eight who practiced our self isolation while enjoying wonderful weather, comfort, and probably the best wildlife viewing ever. The end of the herring run attracted eagles, sea lions and seals in big numbers. The views from almost every room were spectacular. The home was well equipped and we all loved it.

The house is actually nicer than the pictures show it. We stayed in the winter so we knew the outside wouldn't be able to be enjoyed as much however the house was not prepared for the unseasonable cold weather. The heating wasn't working nor was the fireplace. The ERM team helped to rectify this problem but our first night was QUITE chilly. The stereo doesn't work and be sure to bring all your own items with you - soap, salt, pepper as there are none of these things in the home when you arrive unlike other home rentals. Would love to go back in the summer and try again however!

The house was better than imagined. Great skim boarding area, swimming, beach combers delight (sand dollars), bird watchers (eagles and sea birds), relaxing views of the sea, sunrises and sunsets, exceptionally well equipped, great kitchen for multiple cooks - and the bonus was fresh peaches from the garden. The home is located just a few steps from the beach, and is handicap accessible which was fantastic for my father. The home is also well-stocked, the owners have though of everything! Location is between Parksville and Qualicum Beach. Major grocery store within 5 min drive. Quiet neighbourhood - perfect location to explore the surrounding areas.

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Rented property for 5 weeks (May/June 2016). Excellent location and great for families. Our only disappointment was that the kitchen oven was not fully functional and even though we complained during the first week, the management company was unable to organise a replacement or get it fixed.However, that said, we will definitely book this property again.

Although probably from the 90's the finishing quality is above average and well maintained. Very spacious with ocean view from every floor-to-ceiling window and direct access to miles of beach walking! Close to everything - but why would you want to leave!!!!!
