Laid Back

Nice laid back setting. A short walk to any beach essentials ( beach, bars, food, convenient store). I really enjoyed the backyard. It was a quant, laid back space to just hangout and enjoy a drink. I would definitely book this home again and would advise friends to do so as well.

Nice getaway

This property was a lot bigger than it looked. Great location. Four minute walk to the beach, which was hardly used in this section. Yard was fenced in, which was great for the dogs. My wife and I loved it.

Worth the stay to play!

The bad reviews only come from those who have billionaires dreams. This place is more than accommodating for the price, the location, and ability to travel with pets. You will be booking a room right up the road with no option to bring pets for double the cost per night only sleeping 2…just saying…. Everything you need is right there. Whether it’s staying in and cooking or taking a short walk across the street where there is night life and the Sound side sitting views, you won’t be bored. The very private setting of the beach (literally 3 minutes to the water) was a huge bonus for the not-so-ready for a bikini body ;) we will definitely visit again!

The house was pretty well represented online although the floors were in bad condition. There was a note of apology for their spongy condition, however, the note appeared to be pretty old, and my guess is that it is an ongoing apology. Both front and back doors have top to bottom glass but were both filthy with dried up dog saliva. For paying more than $300 in cleaning fees, you should do better. One of my dogs was terrified to go in the house while the other was perfectly fine. Not sure why.

Great 4 day getaway

Our family of 4 and our dog enjoy ourselves so much! Loved the updated reclining sofa in living room! Great location, close to the perfect beach, ice cream, and restaurants!

Backyard should be cleaned too

Fanci's Hideout was a place where we stayed for a few days as a family. Everyone had a bed and the house worked fine. The property allows pets, which is one of the reasons I picked this property, but we ended up not bringing pets. A couple things I would've liked to see differently-there was one roll of extra toilet paper in the bathroom so we had to buy more. In the backyard, there was a pile of old dog poop and something else (maybe dog puke) that was attracting flies and was pretty gross. If the property is going to accept pets and charge a pet fee, the backyard should be part of the cleaning process.

Beautiful not crowded beaches

The house was nice and the location was perfect. The dogs loves the fenced in yard. The only two issues we had was there was no broom or mop for us to clean up the floors, and there were quite a few roaches that we killed while there.

Loved it

We actually ended up staying an extra night because we loved this place and the location so much. While it was a house at the beach, the decor was very "homey" and nice to come in off the beach to. My fiance actually found out some of the people he works with lives in this community. The only thing I would suggest changing is making the tag for the key that goes in the lockbox a little smaller. We had a time fitting it in the box with the other key. Love this place, would rent again!!!

Great location, comfortable, everything you need

This house is in a great location. A 3-4 minute walk to the beach from the back door, across the street from Crab Shack, Anchor Pizza & Beer, and just down the road from Big Oak Drive In. All walkable! The house is equipped with everything we needed and the master bed was very comfortable. It seemed as if we were the first renters in a while as there were a few cobwebs in the corners of rooms and the bathrooms but those were easily removed. Heads up to future renters with dogs: the neighbor next door (the art gallery) is NOT dog friendly and doesn’t seem to understand that dogs do bark and that they may be a little more barky the first day in a new place, especially when they see other dogs running loose in the neighborhood. We would have liked to have let our dogs enjoy the fenced yard more but did not want to hear her complaints. Other than that, we look forward to returning!

Cozy and Simple Dog-Friendly Home

My husband, my dog, and I stayed at this property for four nights. It is a small, cozy home, with everything we needed as a base of operations for our stay in Emerald Isle. The fenced yard was perfect for our dog! The house is in a cute little neighborhood of simple houses and mobile homes that felt much more authentic than being next to some of the colossal mcmansions that line the beach (The Shell House was especially cool. You'll know it when you see it). The beach is easy to get to, and Big Oak is just two doors down. While the house does sleep 7 people, I would recommend this home for smaller families, since it is on the smaller side. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, and are very thankful that we got to bring our dog to the beach this year.

Serviceable Beach House

2.5 stars, rounded up. We were pleased with the location--easy walking distance to the Big Oak and other places. If we had wanted beachfront, this wouldn't work for us, but we were driving to meet family down the road and use their beach access, so that part was fine. There were two roaches and a number of other bugs that we killed; perhaps an exterminator should be called. There was an omnipresent odor that hit us each time we returned to the place. It was musty. There was a McDonald's cup in the fridge, and a random towel in the bathroom. The floors were uneven, which is not something I expected. Having a mirror (even a small one) in the master bathroom would've been nice. The WIFI was quite strong, and the A/C and fans worked well. The welcome email could note where the lockbox is; three of us couldn't find it. I called the owner, who did tell me where it was, at the same time my younger son found it. Overall, the place was serviceable, but we would not return.

Highly Reccomend this beach house!!

This house is absolutely perfect for a family beach trip!! It is maybe a 5 minute walk from the beach and the path to the beach is even carpeted! There were only maybe 4 other people on the beach down in our area when we would go for the day. Very nice neighborhood! Met with some of the neighbors and they were super friendly. There are multiple beds in the house, a nice sized living room and kitchen area, and not to mention the back porch with a fenced in back yard. It even has a shower house outside right beside the back door so you can wash all the sand off or even take an actual shower. My family sat on the back porch every night and we even set up the game corn hole in the backyard area. I took my family of 8 (including myself) with our dog. It was not crowded and was perfect for the dog because of the fenced in backyard. The house comes with all the utensils you need to cook with. There is even a crab shack and an ice cream place right across the street within walking distance. We are looking to book this same house again next year. 10/10!

Not my ideal vacation!

Beach access and the outdoor shower were the only plus’ to this property. The “gourmet” kitchen had very old pots and pans, not useable, many chipped dishes and even the flatware was unbelievably cheap. No toaster either in the place. The ceilings are low, the place is dark, and our grandkids had to stoop to avoid the ceiling fan lights. To top it off, the dryer was not working when we arrived. The owner ordered one that was supposed to be delivered on day two. Near evening with no word from the owners, we called for status and were told it would not be delivered at all until after our stay!

I REALLY ENJOYED MY WEEK AT THIS HOME. EVERYTHING WAS VERY NEAT AND CLEAN. THE SHOWER OUTSIDE WAS AWESOME EVEN IN THE WINTER TIME. YOU HAVE A NICE PLACE TO RELAX AND ENJOY THE ATOMOSPHERE. VERY QUIET AND RELAXING. GREAT PLACE TO STAY.

Really nice house was clean and had almost every needed

Very nice place to stay. Had almost every thing needed for our vacation. Would had been nice to be able to recycle some things.

Great Place

This is a great place to visit. You can park your car and never have to leave . You're in walking distance to food, beach, consignment shops and ice cream shop.The marina is just across the street from you. You are only 3-4 minutes walk to the beach right behind the house.

Convenience

This place is walking distance to 5 places to eat, an ice cream shop, boat docks, seafood house and putt putt. The beach is about 250 yrds out the back door! Located in the middle of the island makes it a short commute to Emerald Isle and Atlantic Beach. Will definitely be back.
