July 2023 stay

The unit was nice; we’ve stayed there before. The location and views from the property can’t be beat. James was an awesome host, and beyond helpful when we had to adjust our stay/dates. Made sure we were able to check in to the unit and made himself available if we ever had questions. We always enjoy staying at the Whaler and will definitely go back again.

Great condo on Kaanapali

The condo itself was great. We are a family of 5. Having two bathrooms and a full kitchen made our vacation infinitely better. The murphy bed meant that everyone had a comfortable place to sleep. The wrap-around lanai was spacious and had great views. 3rd floor location meant short elevator rides, or stairs. Jim was a very accommodating host and checked in to ensure we were comfortable and happy with the unit, before, during, and after our stay. He went above and beyond. We would stay in this unit again if/when we return to Maui!

Excellent!!

The Whaler’s proximity to Kaanapali Beach and Whalers Village makes it one of the best properties on Maui’s northwestern shore. James was a most gracious host. He went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. When I book a VRBO, location and testimonials about the owner, are my top 2 considerations. This condo does not disappoint in either regard.

Great Condo

The condo was as shown on VRBO. Although located in the back of the property we had an enormous lani with views of the beach. Condo was very well equipped with beach supplies and extra towels. It is also very convenient to Whalers village. Whaler offers free beach chairs with other items for rent. James was a perfect host, who stayed in constant, text, contact. We would stay here again!

Kaanapali Family Vacay

We were very happy with all aspects of this fully stocked condo in addition to its convenient location. The view was spectacular and wrap around lanai added so much outdoor light and airiness to the living and dining areas. My family with young also enjoyed the pool and proximity to beach as well as its access to Whalers Village. A good time was had by all! Thank you to James who ensured all questions were answered and was so very accommodating. We will return!

Perfect Condo

My husband, two children(11 and 12), and I stayed at this property in early August. It is in a prime location and is within walking distance of stores/restaurants and Black Rock to snorkel. Due to storms earlier in the year, many other properties nearby lost their beach. There is an excellent beach in front that we went to daily. We also swam in the pool conveniently located right off the beach. The kitchen is fully stocked, so we could have meals at the condo and enjoy the beautiful ocean view while sitting on the patio. We brought our own snorkel gear, but there are chairs, snorkel gear, an umbrella, and a cooler that are available for use. Jim was a wonderful host and we sure that we, were settled in, and he was super helpful. It is a great

perfect location in paradise

This unit has everything I needed for our stay. There are beach chairs and coolers to sit on the beach. The kitchen has everything we needed. Having the corner unit means a bigger balcony. Beautiful views of the ocean and hills. The location is perfect and easy to get to if you don’t want to bother with the elevator, the stairs are right there. It was nice to have a washer/dryer in the unit. Jim was so pleasant to talk to and he just really wants his customers to have the best possible vacation and he’ll do anything within his power to do just that for you. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Btw, I had the best night’s sleep in that cozy bed! Thank you, Jim, for your hospitality!

Can’t wait to return!

The unit was perfect for our family of four -wonderful space that was comfortable and nicely appointed, and gorgeous views. Lots of amenities. Awesome location - rIght on the beach, next to Whalers Village, close to Black Rock Beach. Jim is a great host -we truly enjoyed our stay!

Last Minute Booking — Awesome Experience!

James Adamson, the owner, contacted us once before we left for Maui and personally explained the check-in process. Then he called the condo unit phone to make sure we had arrived and were satisfied, and then he called us on our last day seeking any feedback on how he could improve things! My husband and I totally loved our stay and had no recommendations on how he could improve the condo! Kaanapali Beach was amazing! Excellent restaurants in walking distance of the condo/resort! We had a great time watching the whales from the lanai! Thank You James for the amazing home away from home!

Great location

The condo was exactly as described. James was quick to respond to my questions. The condo is well stocked. It’s a perfect location with easy parking, a great beach and several restaurants within walking distance. We hope to stay there again in the future.

Enjoyed our stay

Enjoyed our stay here. We always choose the Whaler due to its prime location and beach access. This unit was spacious with gorgeous views. Would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful Stay!

My 3 daughters and I had the most wonderful time on Maui. We couldn't have found a better place to stay. We loved the huge Lanai, the kitchen was very well equipped, the beds were super comfortable, and we especially loved having all of the beach gear available to use. I forgot to mention the location, it couldn't have been better...right on the beach, next to a shopping village with several restaurants and beautiful grounds to walk through. James was wonderful to work with, and very prompt with responses. We look forward to another stay in the future. Thank you!

A week at the Kaanapali Whaler

We had a terrific time working with James , the owner, to rent his property. He was very responsive and accommodating. Outstanding! The condo is great. Stocked with kitchen equipment if you want to cook (we did not) and beach chairs and toys. Very nice property in a great location.

Fantastic condo

Our family of four loved our time at this property. The condo was beautifully appointed, spacious and comfy. The kitchen was well equipped and enabled us to cook a full thanksgiving dinner over the holiday. Having two full bathrooms was a huge convenience. The Whaler is one of our favorite locations to stay on the island and the staff and grounds were lovely as always. The location is perfect for a vacation focused on sun, the beach and occasional explorations of the island at large. The owner, James, was attentive and prompt to insure our stay was enjoyable. When there was a very minor issue with the AC controls, he took great concern to help us resolve the problem rapidly.

Excellent stay!

We recently stayed at this property and had a great experience. The unit was spacious, clean and perfect for our family. The bed was very soft and cozy. Highly recommend staying here, we certainly will!

Great location!

This condominium has a great location and a beautiful view of the ocean. It is well equipped for cooking and the BBQs onsite are great. There is also some fun beach gear you can use (eg boogie boards, snorkel, etc.). Highly recommend this property!
