This house was just what I was looking for, to get my family together for a week. It was on a gorgeous lake where we could sit with coffee and a book on the sunny dock in the morning and watch boats, water, and wildlife. There was a sort of boat house with canoe, kayaks, life jackets, water skis, masks, snorkels - everything you would need for water sports and exploration. Feet away was a sandy area to go in for a swim to the raft or launch a kayak. The lake is filled with nooks and crannies to explore, and elusive loons, surrounded by mountain views.
The inside was very roomy, a post and beam style with knotty pine throughout. Cozy comfortable feeling in every room, a great kitchen with all the fixings. Lots of artistic, whimsical details in every room.
Washer, dryer, fireplace, books for all ages, maps and guides, lots of different spaces to be, indoors and out.
The house was located on the less sunny side of the lake, and was shaded and a little cool in the morning. I wished there was a little more sandy sunny beach. We swam morning, noon, and night, so this was not a problem. On the one rainy day we had, we built a fire and read, snoozed, and chatted. We could look outside at the lake and see the weather evolve and turn into a sunny evening, just right for another swim.
We hated to leave.
