This holiday home on an authentic farm is located in a medieval village surrounded by woods, fields and streams, not far from Florence. On the estate there is a small church, 5 holiday flats, a beautiful garden where you can eat together and a park with a shared swimming pool. Ideal for holidays with family or friends! The nearest village is 2 km away and the last 2 km to the house is via a steep, unpaved road. The mountainous surroundings are very quiet (the farm is at 630 m altitude) and never too hot, even in summer. The farm is on the edge of the National Park of the Casentino forests and just a 30-minute drive from Mugello, where you can surf, sail, fish, play golf, laze on the beach and enjoy local festivals. The nearby centre of San Godenzo hosts shops that are usually open and active holidaymakers can enjoy various activities around Lake Bilancino (30 km). You can enjoy hiking and mountain biking in the wooded area and the numerous waterfalls, such as those of Acquecheta, Calabuia, Pretella, Doccione and Pescino are well worth a visit, as are the peaks of Monte Falterona (1654 m high). Castagno d'Andrea is home to the museum of Andrea del Castagno and the archaeological site of Frascole is also worth a visit. The authentic accommodation offers a wonderful view of the church and is located on the mezzanine floor. You will have a spacious living room with a fireplace and a kitchnette for preparing your favourite meals. Authentic elements such as wooden ceilings, terracotta floors and an old fireplace closed off from chimney decorate the interior. In the square is a common room, Il Grottino, with books, magazines, games, a gym and information about the National Park (including routes) and the church. There is playground equipment for children.
