Maison à Pech Luna is a luxurious house set in the heart of a rustic village with stunning views of the surrounding farmland and the Pyrénées.
It benefits from numerous reception rooms and various indoor and outdoor dining options.
There is a large open plan kitchen, living and dining room which leads out to the garden.
There are several areas to relax and read, watch a DVD, play a game from the games cupboard, or listen to music. There is also an office with desk in case you need to get some work done whilst away.
There is also a separate games room with pool table and table tennis as well as seating to watch the competition!
A utility room leads through to the gite, which has a spacious living room with double height ceiling and cosy dining area.
Upstairs in the main part of the house, there are four bedrooms. The master bedroom has a super king size bed. The remaining three bedrooms all have king size beds. There is also a sofa bed in one bedroom, and a single daybed in another. There is a main bathroom and an ensuite to the master bedroom. The master bedroom also benefits from air-conditioning. The remaining three bedrooms have ceiling fans.
Upstairs in the gite, there are two bedrooms and two full bathrooms. The main bedroom has a double bed and benefits from air-conditioning. The second bedroom offers two single beds.
Outside, there are two courtyards, both with tables and chairs, and a large secluded garden with a 9m x 4.5m heated swimming pool with sun loungers, umbrellas and pool toys (the pool is closed during winter, so please check for dates).
You can enjoy a relaxed lunch on the deck overlooking the garden, swimming pool and fields beyond, or enjoy the large table in the open barn in one of the courtyards, which also enjoys an ornamental pond and herb garden.
The house and village are full of character and surrounded by open farmland and stunning views - great for a sunset walk!
There are two villages within a 10min drive, both with a great range of shops eg boulangeries, butchers etc.
It is only a 15min drive to the stunning medieval town of Mirepoix with its arcaded central square with bars, restaurants and a great range of independent shops. There are also larger supermarkets here. Mirepoix also has a weekly market on Monday, which is not to be missed!
It is a 40min drive to the medieval fortified city of Carcassonne – a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is a real adventure exploring the cobbled streets inside the castle walls!
The Pyrénées are an hour away, with summer activities and winter skiing at a family friendly resort.
If you fancy wine tasting, you are in the right place! There are numerous vineyards nearby that offer wine tasting and tours.
If you fancy something more active, there is a very popular watersports lake nearby offering sailing boats, paddleboards, windsurfs and much more!
There is also a canoe hire company 10mins away where you can hire canoes for a leisurely trip along the river, or also nearby are white water rafting venues. The famous Canal du Midi is also very close. The list is endless......
