Higher Putham Barn has one double bedroom and a shower room with walk-in shower, basin and WC. There’s a kitchen with an electric oven and gas hob, microwave, fridge with ice box, and a living/dining room with gas fire with woodburning effect along with a conservatory. WiFi, fuel and power, bed linen and towels are included in the rent. Outside there’s a non-enclosed patio area and enclosed paddock area which includes grazing on three potential fields, and private parking. Two well-behaved pets are welcome with a supplement of GBP35 per pet per holiday. Sorry, no smoking. Nearest shop and pub in 0.9 miles. Higher Putham Barn is a delightful retreat in Exmoor. Town: Wheddon Cross is a small village in the heart of Exmoor National Park, a thriving rural community with village shop, friendly pub and an all-weather court which is available for many sports including tennis, netball and basketball. Nearby is the picturesque village of Exford, situated in the heart of the Exmoor National Park. In a lovely setting by the River Exe, Exford boasts a village green, tea rooms, a shop, Post Office and two traditional inns serving excellent food and drinks. Exford is at the centre of a walkers' paradise with many miles of waymarked paths down the Exe and River Barle valleys and up to the nearby hills, including Dunkery Beacon, the highest point on Exmoor, with outstanding views over 17 counties. Exford is renowned for fishing and riding, with the village hosting a horse show every August. The largest herd of wild red deer in England and Exmoor’s unique wild ponies roam the moors just above and around Exford, as they have done since the time of the Domesday Book.
