Usually, we start with the pros, but we’re definitely going to start with the cons.
Cons - check in instructions were a bit confusing. It told us we needed a code for the gate, which we didn’t, so it just started from there. There was dog poop everywhere. Dishes weren’t clean (there’s no dishwasher, but there were crusted food specs on all of them. Then, there’s this secondary living space behind the house that isn’t mentioned in the listing or in pictures. Does someone live there? Should we be expecting other guests to share the space with? Like, just let us know! The bathroom is TINY and there’s no where to stash stuff, including a towel. There aren’t blinds on a bunch of the windows, so that made the stay much less private. Though this property was at the back of the property, there are still neighbors. There’s also a RV parked on an adjacent property that was directly next to the hot tub, and was a bit uncomfortable to use. The hot tub was murky and disgusting. Then, we had been at the property an hour when an unmarked service vehicle pulled up and drained the hot tub. So though we were grateful for being able to use the hot tub during the trip, we couldn’t our first night and the unexpected service man was shocking and scary. The hot tub jets also would go on and off at will. Oh, and the fire starter stick was out of propane. There were three keys left for us, and no explanation to what they were to.
Pros - inside the house was nice and rustic. We just wanted a quiet cabin getaway and this served well for that. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked, after I washed everything to ensure it was clean. The hot tub, after it was cleaned, was nice, but not private. Lots of blankets to cozy up with, and we enjoyed the fireplace a lot. 15 minutes to restaurants and downtown Sunriver, so bring your own entertainment. There are no bikes/bike paths. Not having to worry about scrubbing every surface was nice! Keyless entry was cool.
Suggestions- add a little shelving in the bathroom above the toilet. Throw up some curtains so we can have privacy. Let your guests know about the secondary living space in the back. And keep your hot tub usable, cleaned and hot.
